Part of the Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle
The Tarot Garden (Giardino Dei Tarocchi) is an exploration of the human condition whose medium is mosaic on a monumental scale. These almost impossibly brightly coloured combinations of buildings and sculpture reflect the metaphysical qualities represented by the 22 main tarot cards (the major arcana). They're not concerned with the fortune-telling uses of the cards, rather the elements of life's experience, personality and self-knowledge they refer to. Work on the garden began in 1979 and the main part of the work was carried out in the 1980s; it was officially opened to the public in May 1998. During construction Niki de Saint Phalle lived in the sphinx-like Empress, a mirror-glassed cavern with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom leading off.
The Sun, card no. 19.
The sun is a life force. It makes everything grow. A divinity that can lift our spirits. I have conceived of the sun as a bird like those found in American Indian and Mexican legends. The bird is the creature closest to the sun. - Niki de Saint Phalle
The Hierophant, card no. 5.
The Hierophant is in the background. Through this card one acquires knowledge of a sacred nature. He represents for some a teacher, a guru, a prophet or a Pope. The Hierophant deciphers mysteries. It may be a book, a shaman, a rabbi or a holy man or woman.
This defunct motel has been closed in my summer visits to Boissevain in 2016 and 2017, and its condition is deteriorating.
I have previously posted two pictures in this scene.
One is of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police mural at the motel site:

At the local car show in town I came across this lovely lady sitting behind the wheel of a gorgeous 1956 Ford Thunderbird. When I attempted to engage her in conversation, not only did she seem extremely disinterested, but she also did not move a muscle for
the entire time I was trying to chat her up, as the British say.
I realized then that this "lady" was actually a manikin dressed up
quite nicely, wigged out and everything, and I had to admire the work-up that resulted in her looking so real and so foxy.
The car show was also fabulous and had about 50-70 beautifully restored classic cars from the 30's to the 60's. Even under the hot August sun, we made the rounds long enough to see all of the cars and got to meet many of the owners as well. It turned out to be a splendid way to spend a Saturday afternoon here in the mid-Atlantic region. And when we had had enough sun, the return to our air-conditioned home was only a ten minute walk.
Well travelled Leon here, in quite typical Spanish condition. I don't take photos of all the Spanish plates given they're hard to locate where the car comes from, however this Seat had an interesting small size front number plate, something that fits well on the car. It's come from its home country!

On our train ride from Ghent to Amsterdam we had a train change in Antwerp. How nice was that. Antwerp's train station is gorgeous. This is the station waiting hall viewed from the train hall entrance.
The Antwerp Central Station is one of the world's most impressive railway stations. Dubbed the 'Railway Cathedral', it is one of the main landmarks in Antwerp.
Between 2000 and 2009 the monumental building was completely modernised and expanded to accommodate the high-speed rail line. More platforms were opened on two additional underground levels.
The unique metal platform roof had previously been restored. In the past Antwerp Central Station was a terminus where trains had to turn around. But since 2007, trains can continue their journey thanks to the railway tunnel between Antwerp Central Station and the north of the city.
The first station building was constructed between 1895 and 1905 as a replacement for the original terminus of the Brussels-Mechelen-Antwerp Railway. The stone clad terminus buildings, with a vast dome above the waiting room hall were designed by Louis Delacenserie.
In 2009 Newsweek judged Antwerpen-Centraal the world's fourth greatest train station. In 2014 the British-American magazine Mashable awarded Antwerpen-Centraal the first place for the most beautiful railway station in the world.
Train hall:
The originally iron and glass train hall (185 metres long and 43 metres high) was designed by Clément Van Bogaert. The height of the station was once necessary for the steam of locomotives. The roof of the train hall was originally made of steel.
World War II damage and restoration:
During World War II, severe damage was inflicted to the train hall by the impact of V-2 bombs, without destroying the structural stability of the building. However warping of the roof substructure due to V-2 bombing caused constructional stresses.
The impact of the bombs are still visible due to a lasting wave-distortion in the roofing of the hall.
In the mid-twentieth century, the building's condition had deteriorated so far that its demolition was being considered. The station was closed on 31 January 1986 for restoration work to the roof and façades.
The stress problems due to the impact of bombs during the war was reportedly solved by the use of polycarbonate sheets instead of glass, due to its elasticity and relative low weight (40% less than glass).
After replacing or repairing steel elements, the structure was painted the burgundy seen today.
The railway station was built between 1895 and 1905 and replaced a wooden train station built in 1854 by engineer Auguste Lambeau.
The rich interior is lavishly decorated with more than twenty different kinds of marble and stone. The main hall and the railway cafeteria can match the interiors of many palaces. Not a single square meter either inside or outside the building is not decorated.
The platforms are covered by a huge iron and glass vaulted ceiling, which was restored in the 1990s. Besides the platform, the vault also covers many of the small diamond and gold shops, which are part of the diamond district next to the Central Station.
The huge glass vault was designed by the architect J. Van Asperen. It is 185 meters long and 44 meters at its highest point. The original platform and tracks themselves are elevated, the two lower levels were added later to accommodate the high speed train connection to Amsterdam.

Here's the description of this model from the brochure:
For the family with a slightly more formal way of life, or where both adults and children entertain frequently, is this plan, illustrated with four variations to fit individual tastes and site requirements.
Here, family room and bedrooms are in one wing, the living-dining area in the other, with the kitchen and service porch conveniently located in relation to both as well as to the rear terrace which extends almost the width of the house. A second terrace off the living room provides additional space for outdoor living.
Hardwood paneling of pecky cypress and a corner fireplace add their special touch of charm and individuality to this house, designed for joyous family living and gracious entertaining - all with a minimum of housekeeping cares.
This Zodiac was in fabulous condition when it was spotted as an exhibit at the 2013 Crich Tramway Village Rock ‘n’ Roll Weekend on the 22nd of June 2013. This particular Zodiac version was made back in 1955 it was first registered in the UK, in the same year, on the 5th of July 1955. It does have the original engine, a 2.3 Litre (2262cc) Over-Head-Valve Straight 6 engine which runs on petrol. This particular car when seen was immaculate and looked great with the white wall tires and original Ford colour scheme.
Just Dropped In - Kenny Rogers & The First Edition
(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
I woke up this mornin' with the sundown shinin' in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in
I watched myself crawlin' out as I was a-crawlin' in
I got up so tight I couldn't unwind
I saw so much I broke my mind
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
psychedelic guitar instrumental break
(Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
Someone painted "April Fool" in big black letters on a "Dead End" sign
I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind
Eight miles outta Memphis and I got no spare
Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
Yeah yeah oh-yeah

Network Rail New Measurement Train (NMT). The NMT is a specialised train which assess the condition of track so that engineers can determine where to work. It is a specially converted High Speed Train, consisting of two Class 43 power cars (from a pool comprising vehicles 43013, 43014 and 43062) and a rake of Mark 3 coaches. It can check the condition of most main lines and some secondary routes in the UK over a 13 week rolling cycle.
The train measures the contact between rails, wheels and the overhead electric supply line. Lasers and other instruments are used to make other measurements of the track geometry and other features such as overhead line height and stagger, and the track gauge, twist and cant. The train captures video footage from the front and rear power cars, and video of the pantograph and wheel interfaces.
Launched in 2003, and has been nicknamed "The Flying Banana" for obvious reasons. It's formation is a power car, messing car, development systems vehicle, track recording systems vehicle, meeting coach with conference area, messing car, and power car. The track recording systems vehicle has banks of screens allowing the team of 3 operators to view a range of system outputs, including track faults, train location, and radio signal strength. His apartment is one staircase above what was my first studio space.
Last Friday I left a bag of cameras and film with him when, because of a sudden downpour, I couldn't get them to my car. We had only met for three, four minutes. I did not know his name. I returned the next day to fetch the cameras and asked if I could take his portrait.
Will I ever expect practical strangers to say yes to that question?
Or to follow through with such ease?

The Porsche 968 evolved from the 944. and could easily have been called a 944 S3. In developement for a revised 944 S2 80% of the 944's mechanical components were either significantly modified or completely replaced by the engineers, leaving so little of the outgoing S2 behind that Porsche management chose to introduce the variant as a new model, entitling it 968. The 968 was powered by an updated version of the 944's straight-4 engine, now displacing 3.0 L changes to the power train also introded the then new VarioCam variable valve timing system, newly optimized induction and exhaust systems, a dual-mass flywheel, and updated engine management electronics among other more minor revisions.
The 968's styling was an evolution on that of the outgoing 944 which in turn was an evolution of the 924 ike the 944, the 968 was sold as both a coupe and a convertible.
The 968CS (Club Sport) was designed as a road and track day car, the car was lightened with a reduction to the sound deadening material, and loss of electrical windows. Upgraded stereo systems, air conditioning, and sunroof were optional. Recaro racing seats replaced the power-operated leather buckets, a revised suspension reduced ride height, the car rode on 17 inch wheels that were wider than the originals, rather than the 16 inch on the standard 968. The 4-spoke airbag steering wheel was replaced with a thicker-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel with no airbag, heated washer jets were replaced with non heated, vanity covers in the engine bay were deleted, as was the rear wiper. The Club Sport has no rear seats, unlike the 2+2 Coupe.
A UK-only version called "968 Sport", was offered in 1994 and 1995, and was essentially a Club Sport model (and was produced on the same production line with similar chassis numbers) with power windows, electric release boot, central locking, cloth comfort seats (different from both the standard and the Club Sport). With the added electrics the larger wiring loom was used. The Sport Variant also got back the two rear seats, again in the cloth material specific to the Sport. At £29,975, the 968 Sport was priced £5,500 lower than the standard 968, but had most of the latter's desirable "luxuries" and consequently outsold it by a large margin (306 of the 968 Sport models compared to 40 standard 968 coupés)

Personalmente me siento insignificante, egoista, ignorante, perdido, absurdo...
Today I have a new follower. I have entered his page and I have seen the worst part of the human being reflected in it... There are no soldiers but citizens of all ages. They are not images of a war but of a genocide. I don't know of any gallery that deserves to have more followers, and at the same time, fewer likes.
I urge you to come in and see with your own eyes... but I warn you that nothing will be the same after you do (if there is a living heart inside you): www.flickr.com/photos/199468447@N06/
Most of us have a comfortable life, we delight in the beauty that the world offers us and in those happy and pleasant moments that we like to immortalize in our photographs and share them. We indulge and complain about so many things that are actually banal when compared to the brutality of human behavior.
We live, not blind, but with our backs to this brutality that is so painful for us to admit.
Personally I feel insignificant, selfish, ignorant, lost, absurd...
What could and should I do, if I were able? I have no idea, I'm open to suggestions.
I know it's very little, but at least I want to help this follower (a real person who I have also decided to follow) to spread the horror in which he and his family, his friends and his people live. A horror that we should all be aware of and that we should think about more often and act on to the best of our ability.
This Boutique hotel resides in a 1925 historic building located in the heart of downtown Miami - 1 block from the nearest metro station.
The building housing the Eurostars Langford Hotel in Miami was originally the Miami Bank and Trust building, constructed in 1925. The architects for this original structure were Hampton and Ehmann.
While the building is historic, it underwent a significant renovation to become the Langford Hotel (later acquired by Eurostars). For this renovation, the Miami Herald states that architects Elton & Hampton were involved.
