The immaculate fleet won the Premier Operator Award at Showbus 2003 and the company returned the following year with vehicles proudly lettered to celebrate that achievement. Seen early in the morning as they took their places on the runway are fleet flagship Iveco Daily/Crest BU04 GVW, LDV Convoy LF02 UJO and Ford Transit 505 KVO, formerly Y904 LHU.

Since fully restored!

This very rotten wreck is a genuine, all-original 1965 Austin Mini Cooper S 1275 W/ standard fuel tank, black plate Yorkshire registration “DPY 160C”, in an original shade of corroded “Surf Blue” W/ white roof. I took this picture in-person back in October 2018, and was present in December that year at a very well-attended auction at the famous Mathewson’s classic car auctions at Thornton-Le-Dale, Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K. My friend bought a 1962 Anglia 105E Deluxe at auction that day. The Mini was initially expected to fetch around £3K-£5K, at least under £10K, but sold for a staggering £18,000 at auction, the winning bidder being Mr. Peter Watchman - a classic Mini enthusiast from Sunderland. The car is a genuine “Barn Find”, as it was parked stashed with old glass bottles and junk inside a moldy 1930s garage in the nearby North Yorkshire town of Stokesley for over 40 years. The Mini was featured on the popular series “Bangers And Cash” and caused quite a stir among MK1 Mini enthusiasts online.

This vehicle was in an extremely rough shape of disrepair. As evidenced by this picture, and shots from the show. There were lots and lots of seriously rusted patches of sheet metal and even worse deep rot on practically every angle of the car. Despite this, the new owner and his team of talented restorers decided to salvage as many rebuildable pieces as possible and even managed to bravely save the original bodyshell, rather than source a replacement. As many original parts as possible were restored and reused.

The Mini was in such a dreadful state to begin with, in fact it - seeing the car up-close in person while taking this picture made me think that anyone willing to buy it would probably only either use it as an original spares donor (mostly for the dashboard, glass, stainless trim pieces and reference points), or maybe even just display it in its given condition as some sort of macabre museum display piece. However, the result of over at least three years of hard work and considerable expense all put into this car resulted in an immaculate, spectacular, and gorgeous complete painstaking restoration. In fact, this is one of the very best restorations I have seen, given the “before” and “after” comparisons. Massive credit and respect for Mr. Watchman and his team of dedicated restorers and family! Peter not only has successfully and faithfully preserved a rare and interesting classic, but also regularly drives the car to shows and classic Mini meets, giving people the opportunity to see this incredible rebuild up-close! The logbook was reissued in January 2023, so the car might belong to someone else now. I’d love to know how much it sold for!

This car, considering just how rough it was, as seen in this photo and others, when compared to the perfect, complete brave restoration it received, proves that even the roughest cars can still be restored, albeit with considerable hours of hard labour and expense. Arguably, nothing isn’t “completely unsalvageable”.

the colour of this dress reminds me of Misty Mints (little pastel coloured white chocolate mints my mom & grandma used to always put out at christmas). It was hard to capture the colour so i edited the photo a bit, anyway, it's he palest of greens, maybe closer to a seafoam... i've been obsessed with pastels--especially mint greens & pinks--over black lately. detail pics in comments.

All you need to make this DIY spot cooler is a bucket, some PVC pipe, a fan, and ice, reusable ice packs, and a frozen gallon jug of water—the homemade air conditioner was able to lower the temperature of a small room by only 2° to 3° F, and within 30 minutes the room temperature began to rise again.

The frozen jug of water was the best for cooling, apparently because it allows enough air to circulate around the jug to sufficiently cool it. And while the ice cubes initially produced the lowest air temperature, once they started melting the temperature measured outside the duct (pipe or cup) wasn’t much different than the room temperature. Again, the room temperature began to rise in 30 minutes.

I had always assumed the long running Zylmex Mack CruiseLiner lost its licensed MACK badging when it became a Motormax produced product in the late 1990's. This mid 90's example shows it disappeared a little bit earlier, probably when Zyll continued alone for a couple of years after their partnership with Intex ended.

As budget 1/87 diecast trucks go this always seemed to be a decent offering and enjoyed good quality and certainly later in its career a LOT of different colours and liveries.

Although I've catalogued this as a Zylmex it is technically just a Zyll and was used in an 11 vehicle set originally offered by Argos but found on Ebay recently in as new condition.

Mint and boxed.

Did I mention the 240 GB of NONSENSE, yet?

In a little road around the back of the shops.

This is the first time that I have used the Zeiss Batis lens to photograph the various follies in St.Anne’s Park and I must admit that I am very happy with the results mainly because of the detail captured in the images that I have published online. I am so pleased with the 25mm lens that I have decided to purchase the new 18mm Batis if I can raise the cash. I am also considering the new Sony GM lenses but they may prove to be too expensive for me.

St. Annes is known for its follies, of which there are approximately ten, mainly around the Naniken river. The follies include a Herculanean Temple on a mock-ruined bridge abutment along the Naniken river, which served as a tearoom for the family, a Pompeian Water Temple of Isis on the banks of the duckpond, and the Annie Lee Tower and Bridge near the chestnut walk.

Other follies include Saint Anne's Well beside the duckpond, after which the park gets its name, the Hermitage Bridge, Yew Circle and Fountain (behind the formal walled garden beside the house), rustic cave and bridge, three rustic archways and a rock work feature. A "Druidic Circle" of Giant's Causeway basalt was lost at an earlier stage. An unusual folly is the Roman style viewing tower which stands on the hill overlooking the duckpond. This started out as an observation tower on the roof of the original house. Later, the tower was removed during extensive refurbishment of St. Anne's house in about 1873 and placed in its current location. It is modelled on the Tomb of the Julii at Glanum near St. Rémy in France.

Many of the follies are in a neglected condition at present, with graffiti being an ongoing problem. For example, the Roman style viewing tower is graffiti covered and has been closed for many years. In addition it is completely hidden by mature trees and could only be revealed by felling them, which would be detrimental to the environment of the park. An alternative proposal is that the tower be moved instead to the site of the old rockery, near the junction of James Larkin Road and Mount Prospect Avenue.

In 2010, Dublin City Council, with the support of the Heritage Council, commissioned a strategy by conservation architects (Shaffrey and Associates) for the long-term conservation of these follies, and it is planned to implement this on a phased basis. It is now 2016 and I have visited the park at least twice per year since 2010 and I am convinced that the follies are now in a worse condition than they were back in 2010 and I am not at all sure that they can be saved
