Gli Antimatter sono una band irlandese/inglese formata nel 1998 da Duncan Patterson (precedente bassista e compositore degli Anathema) e da Mick Moss.
Storia
La band registra nel 1999 un demo ma questo non ha molta fortuna, tanto che furono necessari quasi due anni perché si presentasse la prima etichetta, la Icon records. Con questa registrano e debuttano con l'album Saviour. Successivamente l'apporto dell'etichetta sembra non essere sufficiente per il gruppo e Duncan Patterson inaugura la sua etichetta personale Strangelight Records proprio con gli Antimatter, lasciando massima creatività al gruppo. I primi album degli Antimatter, Saviour e Lights Out, si focalizzano su una linea vocale melodica, un'elettronica dark ed i bilanciamenti sul confine tra il gothic e il trip hop, mentre gli altri lavori Planetary Confinement e Leaving Eden accompagnano più di un acustico basato su un suono di Melancholic Rock, ormai abbandonate le fredde e cupe atmosfere elettroniche per ritornare al vero suono degli strumenti. Poco dopo l'ultimazione dell'album Planetary Confinement, Patterson lascia la band. Moss ha continuato e ha realizzato il progetto del quarto album Leaving Eden, nei primi mesi del 2007.

Since their formation 15 years ago, and fronted by long-time member Mick Moss, Antimatter have moved through a broad range of musical identities. The debut âSaviourâ (best album and best newcomer of the year, Psycho! Magazine, 2001) launched the project with a heavy vein in electronica, whilst âPlanetary Confinementâ, four years later, saw a completely acoustic canvass. The next, much celebrated âLeaving Edenâ album sealed the chameleonic nature of Antimatter, portrayed this time as a classic rock outfit. Over the years, tracks have been selected for programming use by the BBC and MTV, others have crossed over to different genres with their use by German rapper Bushido, reaching number 14 and 16 in the German charts, whist Mossâ vocal guest on the single âBroken Smileâ helped the track reach the official number 1 spot in Armenia, in 2012. Antimatter have headlined at the prestigious âWave Gotik Treffenâ (2009), âHard Rock Laagerâ (2003) the recent â1st Annual Rock Festâ in Armenia. Most recently we have seen the new-wave influenced âFear Of A Unique Identityâ (entering the German newcomer charts at number 6), leaving us with the question, what will they sound like next? One thing is for sure, the introspective, sociological lyrics, dark musical vibe, and Mossâs soulful vocals, all staples of Antimatterâs trademark texture, will remain.

The composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies was born in Salford. He studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music where he developed eclectic musical tastes and a passion for medieval, Renaissance, Indian and avant-garde music. He was an enthusiast of the rigorous modernism of Karlheinz Stockhausen and this informed his own approach to composition. Though not religious, the writings of Saint Thomas Aquinas were a constant source of inspiration to Maxwell Davies. His major works, which often alienated their first audiences because of their uncompromising modernism, include Eight Songs for a Mad King, the opera Taverner and An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise. Maxwell Davies lived in Orkney from 1971 until his death. He collaborated with the Orcadian poet George Mackay Brown on the opera The Martyrdom of St Magnus. Maxwell Davies founded the St Magnus music festival, was knighted in 1987 and became Master of the Queen's Music in 2004. He wrote his final symphony after being treated for Leukaemia, saying that the motivation was 'to express your absolute joy to be alive, love for your fellow man — and also, where there is so much strife, war, destruction — to do something civilized.'

Gli Antimatter sono una band irlandese/inglese formata nel 1998 da Duncan Patterson (precedente bassista e compositore degli Anathema) e da Mick Moss.
Storia
La band registra nel 1999 un demo ma questo non ha molta fortuna, tanto che furono necessari quasi due anni perché si presentasse la prima etichetta, la Icon records. Con questa registrano e debuttano con l'album Saviour. Successivamente l'apporto dell'etichetta sembra non essere sufficiente per il gruppo e Duncan Patterson inaugura la sua etichetta personale Strangelight Records proprio con gli Antimatter, lasciando massima creatività al gruppo. I primi album degli Antimatter, Saviour e Lights Out, si focalizzano su una linea vocale melodica, un'elettronica dark ed i bilanciamenti sul confine tra il gothic e il trip hop, mentre gli altri lavori Planetary Confinement e Leaving Eden accompagnano più di un acustico basato su un suono di Melancholic Rock, ormai abbandonate le fredde e cupe atmosfere elettroniche per ritornare al vero suono degli strumenti. Poco dopo l'ultimazione dell'album Planetary Confinement, Patterson lascia la band. Moss ha continuato e ha realizzato il progetto del quarto album Leaving Eden, nei primi mesi del 2007.

Since their formation 15 years ago, and fronted by long-time member Mick Moss, Antimatter have moved through a broad range of musical identities. The debut âSaviourâ (best album and best newcomer of the year, Psycho! Magazine, 2001) launched the project with a heavy vein in electronica, whilst âPlanetary Confinementâ, four years later, saw a completely acoustic canvass. The next, much celebrated âLeaving Edenâ album sealed the chameleonic nature of Antimatter, portrayed this time as a classic rock outfit. Over the years, tracks have been selected for programming use by the BBC and MTV, others have crossed over to different genres with their use by German rapper Bushido, reaching number 14 and 16 in the German charts, whist Mossâ vocal guest on the single âBroken Smileâ helped the track reach the official number 1 spot in Armenia, in 2012. Antimatter have headlined at the prestigious âWave Gotik Treffenâ (2009), âHard Rock Laagerâ (2003) the recent â1st Annual Rock Festâ in Armenia. Most recently we have seen the new-wave influenced âFear Of A Unique Identityâ (entering the German newcomer charts at number 6), leaving us with the question, what will they sound like next? One thing is for sure, the introspective, sociological lyrics, dark musical vibe, and Mossâs soulful vocals, all staples of Antimatterâs trademark texture, will remain.

Slash, pseudonimo di Saul Hudson (Londra, 23 luglio 1965), è un chitarrista, compositore e produttore discografico anglo-statunitense, membro dei Guns N' Roses dal 1985 al 1996 e autore di riff di brani di successo quali November Rain, Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, You Could Be Mine. Il soprannome "Slash" gli fu affibiato da Seymour Cassel, padre di un suo amico d'infanzia. Si trova in 65ª posizione nella classifica dei 100 migliori chitarristi di tutti i tempi secondo la rivista Rolling Stone ed è annoverato fra le influenze primarie di Kenny Olson, Nashville Pussy, Hardliner, New American Shame, Jason Krause, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ed altri ancora.
Myles Richard Kennedy (Boston, 27 novembre 1969) è un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense. Myles è conosciuto soprattutto per essere il cantante solista ed il chitarrista ritmico della band hard rock Alter Bridge, oltre che per essere la voce del gruppo di Slash durante il tour di quest'ultimo nel 2010.

Da una parte Stefano Bollani, celebre pianista, compositore e intrattenitore, talento indiscusso del jazz italiano internazionale e ultimo artista del Bel Paese a incidere per la celebre etichetta ECM; dall’altra Irene Grandi, affermata cantante e autrice italiana diventata celebre nel pop ma con una spiccata attitudine soul, blues e jazz e una grande voce che non teme confini musicali e stilistici. In the red corner Stefano Bollani, renowned pianist, composer and entertainer, with no doubt an Italian Jazz talent as well as internationally renowned, he also is the last Italian artist to record under the famous ECM record label. In the blue corner Irene Grandi, renowned Italian singer and writer, who owes her fame to pop but with a defined attitude towards soul, blues, jazz and a great voice with no fear of limitations, be it music or style. These two versatile artists, after a first collaboration in the program “Sostiene Bollani” followed by a joint record released under the title “Irene Grandi & Stefano Bollani”, will invade Ascona with an incredible and magical duo recital, piano & voice, an inedited and unique show created especially for the beautiful Ascona surroundings.
JazzAscona feiert sein 30-Jahr Jubiläum mit zwei grossartigen Künstlern der italienischen und internationalen Musikszene. Gli Antimatter sono una band irlandese/inglese formata nel 1998 da Duncan Patterson (precedente bassista e compositore degli Anathema) e da Mick Moss.
Storia
La band registra nel 1999 un demo ma questo non ha molta fortuna, tanto che furono necessari quasi due anni perché si presentasse la prima etichetta, la Icon records. Con questa registrano e debuttano con l'album Saviour. Successivamente l'apporto dell'etichetta sembra non essere sufficiente per il gruppo e Duncan Patterson inaugura la sua etichetta personale Strangelight Records proprio con gli Antimatter, lasciando massima creatività al gruppo. I primi album degli Antimatter, Saviour e Lights Out, si focalizzano su una linea vocale melodica, un'elettronica dark ed i bilanciamenti sul confine tra il gothic e il trip hop, mentre gli altri lavori Planetary Confinement e Leaving Eden accompagnano più di un acustico basato su un suono di Melancholic Rock, ormai abbandonate le fredde e cupe atmosfere elettroniche per ritornare al vero suono degli strumenti. Poco dopo l'ultimazione dell'album Planetary Confinement, Patterson lascia la band. Moss ha continuato e ha realizzato il progetto del quarto album Leaving Eden, nei primi mesi del 2007.

Since their formation 15 years ago, and fronted by long-time member Mick Moss, Antimatter have moved through a broad range of musical identities. The debut âSaviourâ (best album and best newcomer of the year, Psycho! Magazine, 2001) launched the project with a heavy vein in electronica, whilst âPlanetary Confinementâ, four years later, saw a completely acoustic canvass. The next, much celebrated âLeaving Edenâ album sealed the chameleonic nature of Antimatter, portrayed this time as a classic rock outfit. Over the years, tracks have been selected for programming use by the BBC and MTV, others have crossed over to different genres with their use by German rapper Bushido, reaching number 14 and 16 in the German charts, whist Mossâ vocal guest on the single âBroken Smileâ helped the track reach the official number 1 spot in Armenia, in 2012. Antimatter have headlined at the prestigious âWave Gotik Treffenâ (2009), âHard Rock Laagerâ (2003) the recent â1st Annual Rock Festâ in Armenia. Most recently we have seen the new-wave influenced âFear Of A Unique Identityâ (entering the German newcomer charts at number 6), leaving us with the question, what will they sound like next? One thing is for sure, the introspective, sociological lyrics, dark musical vibe, and Mossâs soulful vocals, all staples of Antimatterâs trademark texture, will remain.

In the blue corner Irene Grandi, renowned Italian singer and writer, who owes her fame to pop but with a defined attitude towards soul, blues, jazz and a great voice with no fear of limitations, be it music or style. These two versatile artists, after a first collaboration in the program “Sostiene Bollani” followed by a joint record released under the title “Irene Grandi & Stefano Bollani”, will invade Ascona with an incredible and magical duo recital, piano & voice, an inedited and unique show created especially for the beautiful Ascona surroundings.

Myles Richard Kennedy (Boston, 27 novembre 1969) è un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense. Myles è conosciuto soprattutto per essere il cantante solista ed il chitarrista ritmico della band hard rock Alter Bridge, oltre che per essere la voce del gruppo di Slash durante il tour di quest'ultimo nel 2010.

Successivamente l'apporto dell'etichetta sembra non essere sufficiente per il gruppo e Duncan Patterson inaugura la sua etichetta personale Strangelight Records proprio con gli Antimatter, lasciando massima creatività al gruppo. I primi album degli Antimatter, Saviour e Lights Out, si focalizzano su una linea vocale melodica, un'elettronica dark ed i bilanciamenti sul confine tra il gothic e il trip hop, mentre gli altri lavori Planetary Confinement e Leaving Eden accompagnano più di un acustico basato su un suono di Melancholic Rock, ormai abbandonate le fredde e cupe atmosfere elettroniche per ritornare al vero suono degli strumenti. Poco dopo l'ultimazione dell'album Planetary Confinement, Patterson lascia la band. Moss ha continuato e ha realizzato il progetto del quarto album Leaving Eden, nei primi mesi del 2007.

New Orleans and American pop music legends The Dixie Cups will be making an unforgettable appearance at this year’s edition of JazzAscona. Formed in 1963 in the Calliope projects of New Orleans—and discovered by another New Orleans legend Joe Jones—the original line-up consisted of the sisters Rosa and Barbara Hawkins and their cousin Joan Johnson. The group entered the pop music canon in 1964 with their hit "Chapel of Love", originally penned by Phil Spector, Jeff Barry, and Ellie Greenwich for The Ronettes. The song, ranked number 279 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All-Time, spent three weeks at the top of the U.S. charts, replacing The Beatles' "Love Me Do", and was featured on a variety of film soundtracks, most notably in Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece Full Metal Jacket. Other hits followed for The Dixie Cups, including "People Say" and "You Should Have Seen the Way He Looked at Me". The group’s version of the New Orleans’ classic "Iko Iko" is considered a standard. Inducted in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007, The Dixie Cups continue to be lead by the Hawkins sisters with Dale T. Mickle, completing the trio.
Un atteso ritorno dopo una lunga assenza dalle scene internazionali: è quello del leggendario gruppo pop americano The Dixie Cups. Formatosi nel 1963 in un quartiere nero di New Orleans e scoperto dal leggendario cantante e compositore R&B, Joe Jones, il gruppo era originariamente composto da Rosa e Barbara Hawkins e dalla loro cugina Joan Johnson. La formazione sfornò un primo grande successo pop nel 1964 con "Chapel of Love", un brano inizialmente scritto per The Ronettes da Phil Spector, Jeff Barry e Ellie Greenwich. È uno show al fulmicotone, imperdibile, pieno di rock ed energia! Il successo del suo album solista di debutto “All I Was” prosegue e sembra non fermarsi.
Mark Thomas Tremonti è un chitarrista statunitense degli Alter Bridge e dei Creed. Generalmente Mark è il compositore delle musiche dei suoi gruppi.
La sua band solista originariamente era costituita da Eric Friedman e Garrett Whitlock a fianco del bassista di Alter Bridge e Creed Brian Marshall. La band ha eseguito il suo primo concerto solista a Orlando, in Florida, il 17 luglio 2012.
Nel settembre 2012 Wolfgang Van Halen, figlio di Eddie Van Halen, ha sostituito Brian Marshall.

La sua band solista originariamente era costituita da Eric Friedman e Garrett Whitlock a fianco del bassista di Alter Bridge e Creed Brian Marshall. La band ha eseguito il suo primo concerto solista a Orlando, in Florida, il 17 luglio 2012.
Nel settembre 2012 Wolfgang Van Halen, figlio di Eddie Van Halen, ha sostituito Brian Marshall.

Il soprannome "Slash" gli fu affibiato da Seymour Cassel, padre di un suo amico d'infanzia. Si trova in 65ª posizione nella classifica dei 100 migliori chitarristi di tutti i tempi secondo la rivista Rolling Stone ed è annoverato fra le influenze primarie di Kenny Olson, Nashville Pussy, Hardliner, New American Shame, Jason Krause, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ed altri ancora.
Myles Richard Kennedy (Boston, 27 novembre 1969) è un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense. Myles è conosciuto soprattutto per essere il cantante solista ed il chitarrista ritmico della band hard rock Alter Bridge, oltre che per essere la voce del gruppo di Slash durante il tour di quest'ultimo nel 2010.

Dopo il “sold out” registrato lo scorso 23 ottobre al Tunnel Club di Milano, Mark Tremonti torna in Italia a febbraio fra i suoi fans...in una location più grande come i Magazzini Generali. È uno show al fulmicotone, imperdibile, pieno di rock ed energia! Il successo del suo album solista di debutto “All I Was” prosegue e sembra non fermarsi.

Gli Antimatter sono una band irlandese/inglese formata nel 1998 da Duncan Patterson (precedente bassista e compositore degli Anathema) e da Mick Moss.
Storia
La band registra nel 1999 un demo ma questo non ha molta fortuna, tanto che furono necessari quasi due anni perché si presentasse la prima etichetta, la Icon records. Con questa registrano e debuttano con l'album Saviour. Successivamente l'apporto dell'etichetta sembra non essere sufficiente per il gruppo e Duncan Patterson inaugura la sua etichetta personale Strangelight Records proprio con gli Antimatter, lasciando massima creatività al gruppo. I primi album degli Antimatter, Saviour e Lights Out, si focalizzano su una linea vocale melodica, un'elettronica dark ed i bilanciamenti sul confine tra il gothic e il trip hop, mentre gli altri lavori Planetary Confinement e Leaving Eden accompagnano più di un acustico basato su un suono di Melancholic Rock, ormai abbandonate le fredde e cupe atmosfere elettroniche per ritornare al vero suono degli strumenti. Poco dopo l'ultimazione dell'album Planetary Confinement, Patterson lascia la band. Moss ha continuato e ha realizzato il progetto del quarto album Leaving Eden, nei primi mesi del 2007.

Since their formation 15 years ago, and fronted by long-time member Mick Moss, Antimatter have moved through a broad range of musical identities. The debut âSaviourâ (best album and best newcomer of the year, Psycho! Magazine, 2001) launched the project with a heavy vein in electronica, whilst âPlanetary Confinementâ, four years later, saw a completely acoustic canvass. The next, much celebrated âLeaving Edenâ album sealed the chameleonic nature of Antimatter, portrayed this time as a classic rock outfit. Over the years, tracks have been selected for programming use by the BBC and MTV, others have crossed over to different genres with their use by German rapper Bushido, reaching number 14 and 16 in the German charts, whist Mossâ vocal guest on the single âBroken Smileâ helped the track reach the official number 1 spot in Armenia, in 2012. Antimatter have headlined at the prestigious âWave Gotik Treffenâ (2009), âHard Rock Laagerâ (2003) the recent â1st Annual Rock Festâ in Armenia. Most recently we have seen the new-wave influenced âFear Of A Unique Identityâ (entering the German newcomer charts at number 6), leaving us with the question, what will they sound like next? One thing is for sure, the introspective, sociological lyrics, dark musical vibe, and Mossâs soulful vocals, all staples of Antimatterâs trademark texture, will remain.
