IL FIUME SACRO ALLA PATRIA INCONTRA IL SOLIGO.
Un fiume, due identità. Proprio come il suo nome. Fino all’Ottocento era conosciuta come la Piave, molto più di un corso d’acqua per le popolazioni aggrappate alle sue rive, per poi adottare l’articolo maschile, indispensabile per sottolineare quello che sarà poi il suo tratto distintivo, cioè essere il “Fiume sacro alla Patria”.
Il Piave ha veramente due lati: uno, più docile, in cui si è sviluppato un notevole benessere economico, mentre il secondo, quello più buio, è costellato di conflitti, guerre mondiali, disastri ambientali e sfruttamenti.
Una delle canzoni patriottiche più note in Italia – e una delle pochissime che ancora si ricordano praticamente tutti – è la “Leggenda del Piave”, quella che comincia con le parole: «Il Piave mormorava calmo e placido al passaggio / dei primi fanti il 24 maggio». Fu scritta negli ultimi giorni di guerra e divenne famosa soprattutto negli anni successivi al conflitto. Nonostante il successo durato decine di anni, l’autore della “Leggenda del Piave”, Giovanni Ermete Gaeta, un compositore e poeta dialettale napoletano, non ci guadagnò quasi nulla.

THE RIVER SACRED TO THE PATRIA MEETS THE SOLIGO.
One river, two identities. Just like his name. Until the nineteenth century it was known as the Piave, much more than a watercourse for the people clinging to its banks, to then adopt the masculine article, essential to underline what will later be its distinctive feature, that is to be the " River sacred to the Fatherland ".
The Piave really has two sides: one, more docile, in which considerable economic well-being has developed, while the second, the darker one, is dotted with conflicts, world wars, environmental disasters and exploitation.
One of the best known patriotic songs in Italy - and one of the very few that practically everyone still remembers - is the "Legend of the Piave", the one that begins with the words: "The Piave murmured calmly and placidly as the first infantrymen passed on the 24 May". It was written in the last days of the war and became famous especially in the years following the conflict. Despite the success that lasted for decades, the author of the "Legend of the Piave", Giovanni Ermete Gaeta, a Neapolitan dialectal composer and poet, earned almost nothing.

IL SALOTTO DELLA CITTA'
Pirano è una città turistica sulla costa adriatica della Slovenia, nota per il suo lungo molo e l'architettura veneziana.
Piazza Tartini è fiancheggiata dalla gotica Casa Veneziana rossa e dall'affrescata Casa Tartini.
Realizzata nel 1894 al posto del mandracchio interrato, questa piazza ha una grande forma ovale e una pavimentazione in marmo. E' la piazza principale di Pirano e accoglie i visitatori al termine del lungomare.
E' circondata da numerosi edifici importanti, come il Palazzo di Giustizia, la Chiesa di San Pietro, la Casa veneziana, oltre che da numerosi bar e ristoranti. E' intitolata al compositore e violinista piranese, Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770), che viene ricordato anche dalla statua in mezzo alla piazza.
Di notte la piazza si accende grazie alle luci con cui viene illuminata.

THE CITY LIVING ROOM
Piran is a resort town on the Adriatic coast of Slovenia known for its long pier and Venetian architecture.
Piazza Tartini is flanked by the red Gothic Casa Veneziana and the frescoed Casa Tartini.
Built in 1894 in place of the underground mandracchio, this square has a large oval shape and a marble pavement. It is the main square of Piran and welcomes visitors at the end of the promenade.
It is surrounded by numerous important buildings, such as the Palace of Justice, the Church of San Pietro, the Venetian House, as well as numerous bars and restaurants. It is named after the composer and violinist from Piran, Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770), who is also remembered by the statue in the middle of the square.
At night the square lights up thanks to the lights with which it is illuminated.

All the photos I present were taken in towns and on the beaches near Taormina (Sicily-Italy); I made photos related to "street photography and beach photography"; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the street or on the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------
Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate in paesi e sulle spiagge vicini Taormina (Sicilia-Italia); ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography ed alla beach photography”; ho realizzato dei foto-ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, le ringrazio veramente tanto per la loro simpatia e la loro disponibilità; ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada o sulle spiagge... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Il mio pensiero, al pari di una enorme moltitudine di suoi estimatori daltronde, va al grandissimo cantautore, compositore, musicista, pensatore illuminato e regista italiano Franco Battiato, scomparso di recente all'età di 76 anni: egli nacque a Riposto (all'epoca chiamata Ionia) vicino al paese nel quale vivo (Taormina), ed abitava non molto distante, alle pendici dell'Etna, nel paesino di Milo.
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.---------------------------------------------------------
Cuvilliés Theatre - Residenz Munich
Il Cuvilliés-Theater (ex Residenztheater ) di Monaco è noto come il più importante teatro rococò in Germania
Fu costruito negli anni dal 1751 al 1753, per ordine dell'elettore Massimiliano III, da François de Cuvilliés il vecchio, affiancato da François de Cuvilliés il giovane e dall'allievo Karl Albert von Lespilliez Per la decorazione interna, gli scultori Johann Baptist Straub , Anton Pichler e Joachim Dietrich utilizzarono più di 1000 alberi dei boschi dello Staffelsee.
Il 12 ottobre 1753 il teatro fu inaugurato con l'opera Catone in Utica del compositore italiano e direttore dell'orchestra bavarese di corte Giovanni Battista Ferrandini.
The Cuvilliés-Theater (former Residenztheater) in Munich is known as the most important rococo theater in Germany.

La Terrazza Mascagni è uno dei luoghi più eleganti e suggestivi di Livorno ed è ubicata sul lungomare a margine del viale Italia. Il nucleo originale fu costruito a partire dagli anni venti del Novecento, ma la terrazza fu notevolmente estesa nell'immediato dopoguerra, quando fu intitolata al compositore livornese Pietro Mascagni.

Passio musicae è un monumento dedicato al compositore finlandese Jean Sibelius (1865 - 1957). Il monumento si trova nel Parco Sibelius nel distretto di Taka-Töölö ad Helsinki, la capitale della Finlandia.
Il monumento fu progettato da Eila Hiltunen e mostrato al pubblico per la prima volta il 7 settembre 1967.
Consiste in una serie di oltre 600 tubi cavi in acciaio saldati insieme secondo uno schema ondulato. Il monumento pesa 24 tonnellate e misura 8,5 per 10,5 per 6,5 metri.

Passio musicae is a monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865 - 1957). The monument is located in Sibelius Park in the Taka-Töölö district of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
The monument was designed by Eila Hiltunen and first shown to the public on September 7, 1967.
It consists of a series of more than 600 hollow steel tubes welded together in a corrugated pattern. The monument weighs 24 tons and measures 8.5 by 10.5 by 6.5 meters.

My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------

Il mio pensiero, al pari di una enorme moltitudine di suoi estimatori daltronde, va al grandissimo cantautore, compositore, musicista, pensatore illuminato e regista italiano Franco Battiato, scomparso di recente all'età di 76 anni: egli nacque a Riposto (all'epoca chiamata Ionia) vicino al paese nel quale vivo (Taormina), ed abitava non molto distante, alle pendici dell'Etna, nel paesino di Milo.
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.---------------------------------------------------------

The Triton, with a mighty trunk and erect and legs covered with scales, reclines his head in the act of blowing in a large cone-shaped shell, mighty straight with his arms; unlike traditional tritons, generally depicted with monstrous connotations, the Bernini statue has a more human appearance. In any case, from the buccina (or tortile shell) supported by Tritone comes a copious gush of water that, dripping from the grooves of the shell, finally collects in the pool below
The triton intends to announce to the world the pomp of the Pope or, according to other interpretations, symbolizes the immortality achieved through the study of the humanities, in reference to the remarkable literary skills of Urban VIII, composer among other things a remarkable collection of poems
The figure of the Triton is taken from the first book of the Metamorphoses of Ovid, where it is told of a merman who, emerging from the waves, plays in his buccina cava, so as to announce to the world the triumph of the gods. Bernini, in any case, for the figure of the triton was inspired by the Eagle fountain, realized by Stefano Maderno and placed in the Vatican gardens.
Il Tritone, con un tronco possente ed eretto e le gambe coperte di squame, reclina la testa all'indietro nell'atto di soffiare in una grossa conchiglia a forma di cono, possentemente retta con le braccia; a differenza dei tritoni tradizionali, in genere raffigurati con connotati mostruosi, la statua berniniana ha un aspetto più umano. In ogni caso, dalla buccina (o conchiglia tortile) retta da Tritone fuoriesce un copioso zampillo d'acqua che, sgocciolando dalle scanalature della conchiglia si raccoglie infine nella piscina sottostante
Il tritone intende annunciare al mondo il fasto del Pontefice oppure, secondo altre interpretazioni, simboleggia l'immortalità raggiunta attraverso lo studio delle discipline umanistiche, in riferimento alle notevoli doti letterarie di Urbano VIII, compositore tra l'altro di una ragguardevole raccolta di poemi
La figura del Tritone è ripresa dal primo libro delle Metamorfosi di Ovidio, dove si narra per l'appunto di un tritone che, emergendo dai flutti, suona nella sua buccina cava, così da annunciare al mondo il trionfo degli dei. Bernini, in ogni caso, per la figura del tritone trasse ispirazione dalla fontana dell'Aquila, realizzata da Stefano Maderno e collocata nei giardini Vaticani.

Ho deciso finalmente di leggere la sua storia.
Il suo nome reale era Baldassarre Galuppi e fu un compositore nato a Burano il 18/10/1706 e morto a Venezia il 3/1/1785
Galuppi era nella sua epoca molto famoso per le sue opere, per i suoi lavori suĺla musica sacra e per la musica per tastiera.
Il suo stile melodico, elegante e flessibile s'incontrò con la poetica di Carlo Goldoni;
Nella storia della musica i suoi meriti stanno principalmente nelle innovazioni che egli, con Goldoni, condusse nell' "Opera Buffa" dando vita al "Dramma Giocoso"
Il "Dramma Giocoso" è un genere dell' opera che ebbe origine in Italia verso la metà del XVIII secolo.
Oggi tra le opere appartenenti a questo genere sono rimaste in repertorio soprattutto
"Don Giovanni", "Così fan tutte" di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,
"L'italiana in Algeri" e "La Cenerentola" di Gioachino Rossini.

every time I get in this beautiful square of Burano ... meeting mr. Buranello
I finally decided to read his story.
His real name was Baldassarre Galuppi and was a music composer born in Burano on 10.18.1706 and died in Venice on 03.01.1785
Galuppi was very famous in his time for his works on opera, on sacred music and keyboard music.
His melodic style, elegant and flexible met with the poetics of Carlo Goldoni;
In history of music its merits are mainly in the innovations that he, with Goldoni, led in the '"Opera Buffa" giving life the "Playful Drama"
The "Playful Drama" is a kind of Opera that originated in Italy in the mid-eighteenth century.
Today, among the works of this genre remained in the repertoire especially
"Don Giovanni", "Cosi fan tutte" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,
"The Italian in Algiers" and "Cinderella" by Gioachino Rossini.

Nessun viaggio a Livorno è completo senza una passeggiata lungo questa terrazza fronte mare con la sua pavimentazione a scacchiera in bianco e nero. Quando fu costruita negli anni '20, si chiamava Terrazza Ciano in onore del leader del movimento fascista di Livorno; ora porta il nome del compositore d'opera livornese Pietro Mascagni (1863-1945).
No trip to Livorno is complete without a stroll along this seafront terrace with its dramatic black-and-white chessboard-style pavement. When it was built in the 1920s, it was called Terrazza Ciano after the leader of the Livorno fascist movement; it now bears the name of Livorno-born opera composer Pietro Mascagni (1863–1945).
A relaxed moment just after the press conference where Gio presented his new book entitled "Cento Cuori dentro" in a beautiful scenery just in front of the sea.
This has been a collateral event during the Kermesse & Lyrics Contest "A song for Amnesty 2019 - Voices for Freedom", "Una canzone per Amnesty - VXL Voci per la Libertà 2019".

My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------

PASSEGGIATA NOTTURNA
La storia di Pirano è scritta sui muri delle case e nelle strade del suo delizioso centro storico: dal periodo del dominio Veneziano all’annessione all’impero Asburgico, i colori vivaci delle facciate e i balconi elaborati raccontano una storia.
Il centro di Pirano è dominato dalla bella piazza Tartini (in sloveno Tartinijev trg), dedicata al più illustre tra i suoi concittadini: la statua del violinista e compositore che scrisse il famoso Trillo del Diavolo sembra accogliere sia i turisti che giungono via terra, sia le imbarcazioni che entrano nel porto adiacente alla piazza stessa.

NIGHT WALK
The history of Piran is written on the walls of the houses and in the streets of its delightful old town: from the period of Venetian rule to the annexation to the Habsburg Empire, the brightly colored facades and elaborate balconies tell a story.
The center of Piran is dominated by the beautiful Tartini Square (in Slovenian Tartinijev trg), dedicated to the most illustrious of its fellow citizens: the statue of the violinist and composer who wrote the famous Devil's Trill seems to welcome both tourists arriving by land and boats entering the port adjacent to the square itself.

The Stravinsky Fountain (in French: Fontaine Stravinsky) is a particular public fountain located near the Pompidou Center in Paris.
The fountain is a basin of 580 square meters and was created in 1983 by the sculptors Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle, the mechanical pieces are by Jean Tinguely, while the colored works are by Niki de Saint Phalle.
