What could be more emotional than the combination of fire and money! Money was soaked in a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. The alcohol vaporizes and is flammable. The water protects the paper money. This photo captures the dynamic nature of fire. I used a tripod and the 2 second auto-timer on the camera so that a picture with clear focus would result.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Chemistry Students
INTEGRATION INTO CURRICULUM: I would use this photo as a writing prompt during the Balanced Chemical Reactions Chapter. During this chapter we discuss five different types of chemical reactions including combustion of a hydrocarbon. I would supply a list of vocabulary words that would need to be included in a well constructed paragraph. The vocabulary words for this particular photo would include combustion, hydrocarbon, mixture, vaporization, boiling point, and oxygen.

The goal of this project was to take an interesting photo using composition and framing. In the photo I have chosen, the wood frames the flowers. The top of the wood is lined up with the top line using the rule of thirds.
This shot is the starting pattern for a collection of similar composition images.

I am constantly drawn to the geometric markings whilst commuting on the train looking out of the window at the track signage, markings and structures, the red and white, yellow and black stripes the blue squares this translates into my Landscape Tables.
