A fun way to cover a composition book, and use some embroidery for a little pocket!

What could be more emotional than the combination of fire and money! Money was soaked in a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. The alcohol vaporizes and is flammable. The water protects the paper money. This photo captures the dynamic nature of fire. I used a tripod and the 2 second auto-timer on the camera so that a picture with clear focus would result.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Chemistry Students

INTEGRATION INTO CURRICULUM: I would use this photo as a writing prompt during the Balanced Chemical Reactions Chapter. During this chapter we discuss five different types of chemical reactions including combustion of a hydrocarbon. I would supply a list of vocabulary words that would need to be included in a well constructed paragraph. The vocabulary words for this particular photo would include combustion, hydrocarbon, mixture, vaporization, boiling point, and oxygen.

Compositions in commuting.

Sketch.
