Composite photograph of Lake Pedder from Teds Beach and the aurora australis, both shot in Tasmania on the XZ-1, with the same settings. The differences being date, location and the foreground image had a brighter, but partially eclipsed moon during the time of the shot

This was supposed to become a finished composite like the others on here, but it was hard and so did not progress especially far. This way it looks a ton like David Hockney's work, which I very much admire.

I'm trying to create some composites for sales ideas.

one of my first attempts at making a panoramic image. this was back before i understood parallax, tripod heads, stitching software etc. I went crazy trying to stitch these images, and even went back and gave it a try with stitching software, before giving up and filing them. I didn't realize the low tech approach has merits too. I have a bunch of these early pre smooth stich panos to go back and look at.I think the composite look has a charm and vitue of it's own, it's just taken a while to think about it.

Camera: Canon EOS 450D with Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens.

The picture was taken at 1/250 sec. shutter speed, f/8 aperture and ISO 400,

focal length 14mm.

This series of pictures were taken at a skating park near the beach in

Barcelona (41.397704ºN, 2.210632ºE if you want to see it in Google Maps). I

took about 100 of them, then selected the 15 most interesting ones, which I

then proceeded to edit. This brought my computer to a crawl, since the image

size was 600 MB and the temp file was 8GB!

Red for right audio, white for left, yellow for picture. Horrible blurry, noisy images. Soon to be a thing of the past. Good riddance.

Multi-image composite of this evening's sunset (8:15 p.m., CDT), just after a storm front moved through (we didn't get any rain, but the clouds were beautiful).

For this composite, I left off the top row of images for a more panoramic appearance but with less sky.

Another image from my walk the other day in Golden Ears Park. As with the image posted a few days ago, I used a close up filter on my 50mm, and my speedlight stuffed into a small softbox on a ttl cord. I had the camera on slow burst mode and the flash at 1/8th power and I focused by slowly moving my body.

I wouldn't mind feedback on my choice of colour for the background and frame.

As always, thoughtful feedback, constructive criticisms, and suggestions are always appreciated. As always, I have used tools at my disposal to interpret the original raw file. Use of this photo without permission is not permitted.
