The blue image is kind of surprising. The yellow “Sun” filter filters almost all of the blue light, and the B component looks almost black, but when you enhance it you see this.
This is most likely due to the camera's JPEG compression dropping the blue information inside the disk of the sun where the red and green components are so much stronger. The “corona” effect would just be glare that hasn't been zeroed. Unfortunately, this camera doesn't have a “raw” mode.

i found a small teevee/video on the street. boy it was dusty but i took it home to see if it worked anyway. i plugged it in and it blew up bang loud and scared me. so i told it it couldn't live with me no more, took the back off it and took some photos of its insides to remember it by. all these mysterious bits and pieces, they make magic you know?
This is a small sculpture that looks like a spider. I made it from electronic components I had laying around. The components include: eight resistors and eight diodes for the legs, an electrolytic capacitor for the abdomen, two pieces of small wire for the palps, and an IC for the cephalothorax.

Strijen, 21 oktober 2014 – Landgoed De Peerdegaerdt deed net als voorgaande jaren op de eerste zaterdag van november mee aan de Natuurwerkdag, een van de grootste vrijwilligersacties van Nederland georganiseerd door Landschapsbeheer Nederland. Op meer dan 400 locaties door heel Nederland kan jong en oud als vrijwilliger onder andere bomen zagen, houtwallen afzetten en wilgen knotten. Het is eigenlijk een opknapbeurt van het landschap.
Op deze veertiende Natuurwerkdag kan iedereen onder het motto 'Leef je uit' aan de slag. Niet alleen het landschap knapt ervan op: ook (bedreigde) plant- en diersoorten kunnen weer vooruit. ‘Stichting Landgoed de Peerdegaerdt is net als vorig jaar weer van de partij met de volgende activiteiten: fruitbomen snoeien, bomen knotten, aanleggen van takkenrillen, hakhoutbos snoeien en het herstellen van borders.
Hèlen Sturm van De Peerdegaerdt vertelt enthousiast “voor De Peerdegaerdt is de Natuurwerkdag een goede gelegenheid om met een grote groep mensen extra werk te verzetten. De vaste medewerkers en vrijwilligers komen hier normaal niet aan toe. Ook komen nieuwe mensen in contact met De Peerdegaerdt. We hopen natuurlijk dat we deze mensen een mooie beleving kunnen geven en dat ze zo positief zijn dat ze vaker een dagje vrijwilligerswerk willen doen”. Tijdens de Natuurwerkdag kan de jeugd ook op De Peerdegaerdt terecht voor hun maatschappelijke stage.
Vrijwilligerswerk
Het landschap kan niet zonder vrijwilligers. Per jaar werken vrijwilligers bijna een miljoen uur aan behoud, beheer en ontwikkeling. Maar hun waarde laat zich niet alleen in geld en uren uitdrukken. Vrijwilligerswerk heeft ook een sociale component, het draagt bij aan de betrokkenheid en zorgt voor draagvlak. Daarnaast verbetert het de toegankelijkheid en recreatieve waarde van het landschap.
Programma Natuurwerkdag 2014 op De Peerdegaerdt
Zaterdag 1 november startte de Natuurwerkdag op De Peerdegaerdt in Strijen om tien uur ’s ochtends met koffie en thee, waarna een korte uitleg gegeven werd over de geschiedenis van de Peerdegaerdt. Vervolgens kwamen de werkzaamheden die die dag uitgevoerd konden worden aan bod. TV Rijnmond maakte een nieuwsitem over de Natuurwerkdag op De Peerdegaerdt.
Frans Jansen, een expert op het gebied van hoogstamboomgaarden en landschapsbeheer, nam op zijn altijd enthousiaste en deskundige wijze een groot deel van de begeleiding voor zijn rekening. Ook verzorgde De Peerdegaerdt voor alle deelnemers tijdens de lunch een heerlijke soep, zodat iedereen weer energiek verder kan met het middagprogramma. Rond vier uur ’s middags werd het programma afgesloten worden en konden vrijwilligers een Peerdegaerdt sapje en geplukte peren mee naar huis nemen!
