Tut One students completed the Adventurous Journey component of their International Award, Bronze level, at Harriman State Park. Students had to hike 14 miles over the course of two days. This included carrying all their own gear, cooking for themselves and camping out over night. To ensure that students made it to their destination on time, they had to map out their own trail and work together as team. The students displayed excellent teamwork and leadership skills throughout the course of the weekend. Congratulations to all of the students and teachers involved!

My winter Olympics - Vancouver quilt finished. Made with flannel and is so cozy!! Vancouver is very close to where I live so I just had to get this kit. Didn't get to it during the olympics but it's finished now.

The Iron Wolves Robotics Team 2709 of Perspectives/IIT Math & Science Academy built Baby Redy to compete in the 2013 Midwest Regional of FIRST - For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. Sponsorship and technical assistance has been generously provided by Illinois Institute of Technology and Motorola Solutions Foundation. Dubbed the “grand-daddy” of all FIRST Regional Events, Midwest is a highly competitive, exciting and fun premier spectacular! It is a spectator-friendly competition environment that has the feel of both a major sporting event and a rock concert, complete with cheering fans, crazy costumes, special lighting, up-beat music, a large video wall, and energetic emcees/announcers. In essence, the Midwest Regional is a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics!

On a wet, rainy June 11, the members of Centralia MO Flower & Garden Club embarked on our annual member garden tour. Since our area is in a semi drought situation, we welcomed the rain, and it even enhanced the first garden we visited. It was an English Country type setting, full of arbors, lush foliage, fountains, shrubs, sculpted beds full of color, so we loved every wet step of it. Then we visited an idyllic country setting complete with chickens and cows as well as a guest cottage. After that, we went to a woodland garden, then an urban garden full of every tree you can think of as well as a gigantic daylily bed, and ending with a lovely continual garden surrounding the home. At each garden, the hostess treated us to fabulous finger foods, so it was quite a day. I hope everyone who sees these will appreciate what a beautiful tour we had.

The pergola is finally complete. 70% Tan Shade Fabric installed on top, RGB LED Strip lights installed with RF Remote. The Strip lights took a while to install because of all the conduit and car needed to ensure water tight seals, plus They're attached to 8' long aluminum flat bars that are screwed to the wood since adhesive tape doesn't really stick to wood.
