This is another perspective on the completed model. This picture is deceiving in that the model looks half it's actual size. It is being crushed by it's own weight.

This is a completed commission for midwinterwriter, who asked me to re-create the 'Mirror' nightgown ensemble worn by Emmy Rossum in the 2004 'Phantom of the Opera' movie.
This skirt is made from very lightly teastianed lace with a muslin underlayer to prevent it from becoming entirely transparent.
The rest of the outfit includes a lace camisole, satin corset, and muslin robe.
It is finally finished. I put the edge on today. I am going to take a picture tomorrow in the daylight, but I am glad to be done with it. I need to get it in the mail for Project Linus very soon. This pattern is ruby hexagon blanket by Nova Seals. I think the next time I make it I will make the outer hexagon the same color.

"A test series on EVA has been completed by the engineers of NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC), Space Medicine and Crew Systems Divisions. Test subject Jack Slight, wearing a Gemini spacesuit and strapped into a 6-degree of freedom zero gravity simulator, 'walked' through space from a mockup of the Gemini Spacecraft and Agena target vehicle as they were docked together on the laboratory floor at the MSC. Slight opened a panel on the side of the Agena which represented a micrometeoroid collection experiment that will be flown on a later Gemini mission. In a second set of maneuvers, he retrieved the trap and carried it back to the spacecraft. The purpose of the tests is to determine the procedures necessary for performing the task in space, to define the procedures necessary for the astronaut to perform the experiment, and design verification of the experiment. The tests will be performed again next month in a true weightless condition in the cabin of an KC-135 aircraft flying a trajectory which produces weightlessness for a period of 30 seconds. Martin Debrovner, Space Medicine Branch, is test conductor for the series [of tests]."

The units were adjustable with C spanners to stiffen up the ride quality to the riders requirements.
The very earliest machines including safari models were fitted with a single component but the S range and speedsix had the luxury of twin dampers when they were hand built.

"On Saturday, May 11th, Occupy the Farm peacefully marched onto the Gill Tract to challenge the UC’s renewed plans for private, commercial development of this public agricultural resource, replacing 5-foot high weeds with thousands of squash, kale, basil, corn, lettuce and tomato plants, and even flowers.
Rather than recognizing this as an opportunity to position itself on the cutting edge of urban agriculture and participatory research, the University raided the farm on Monday, May 13, at 4:30 a.m. and violently arrested four peaceful farmers, three of whom were held for more than 60 hours before being released without charge. The University then ploughed over the farm that morning, destroying thousands of starts that, if nurtured, would have provided sustenance to local communities.
“This land has been vacant for years,” said an Occupy the Farm member, Matthew McHale, “the UC only destroyed the crops because it’s afraid that if the community sees what an amazing asset this would be as a community farm, they would refuse to let it be paved over.”
In protest of the UC’s actions, more than eighty farmers and community members re-converged on Monday afternoon for a rally, then marched back onto the farm to replant the field and recover some of the starts they had planted over the weekend. The University plowed the farm again Tuesday morning.
Since Occupy the Farm first planted on the Gill tract in April 2012, the group has organized at least 10 public forums focused on the Gill Tract as an asset to community-driven participatory research. The UC Berkeley administration has consistently failed to attend, despite being invited repeatedly. Students on campus however, support turning the land into an urban farm; last Spring the Associated Students of the University of California Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of Occupy the Farm."
Hopefully this can wasn`t anywhere close to the Aqua Net hair spray can when it came time to work on the beehive hairdo!

Completed in 1904, the Bode Museum (Originally known as Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum) is home to many sculptures, a huge collection of Byzantine art, and a numismatic collection.
Along with the other four museums on Museum Island (Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Pergamon Museum), this site was inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1999.

I have been playing with the new D300 with the Nikon 18-200mm lens. I have no bloody idea how to use them yet (well properly) and so whilst going through my lightroom import I came across this. Add a dash of white balance screwup and you have this..
...For the ladies, or better yet... For the blokes, go on send this to your woman and say it was from you!
The good points:
- Nice taper.
- Tight plaiting.
- Straight seams.
- Tight hitch.
- Tight binding.
- Nicely shaped cane.
- Firm TH foundation.
- Tight connection between handle and thong.
- It seems to crack well.
The bad points:
- Will have to think again about hide utilization in order to prevent strand stretching, and unevenness in the set.
- It is not a good idea to splice a bolster, at least not at this point.
- Neither it is a good idea to do a lot of splicing unless it is absolutely necessary.
- The keeper in the thong is a bit short and tight.
- The keeper in the handle is a bit long, giving a distorted appearance.
- Transition from checkerboard to four or six seam wasn't that neat.
- Some stitches were missing near the beginning of the thong.
- The lace for the TH wasn't of an appropriate size.
All in all, I think the problems had to do with aesthetical issues (due to very little experience) and not much about functional ones. I still need to make a video to show how it performs.
The paint and bodywork complete, the El Camino emerges from Mascar. Since my new garage was still under construction at this time, the car was sent to storage in a rented space on Newport Blvd.
The color is similar to a factory color available in 1966. I thought about what color to paint the car for a long time, since I didn't really want anything flashy, and I wanted a factory color or close to it. Then one day in the late nineties I saw a guy with a 1966 Chevelle sedan at the Long Beach Hot Rod Swap Meet and the car had the original factory paint, a shade called Cameo Beige. I decided that was the color I wanted. It seemed to be similar to the color of the head of a Guinness.
When it came time to paint the car, I poured some Guinness for Kenny so he could work out a paint formula to match the color of the head.
The result is a great color, but it doesn't look much like the Cameo Beige on this paint chip. But I'm not sure how accurate that chip is after all these years, or how accurate the color is as scanned or reproduced. My El Camino seems to be similar to my memory of that four-door I saw in Long Beach that day.
I may add just a touch of brightness to its eye, but it is otherwise done. Just hints of color here and there.

Right before I popped the case side panels on. This is the cleanest build I've ever done and the NZXT Phantom case is amazing to work with. Fantastic Quality. Amazing cable management. They give you tons of screws & ties and things. The built in fan controller lets it run dead silent at its lowest setting, but seriously pushes air when you max it out.
While waiting for the every so famous Bessemer engine We heard some 645 turbos in full throttle. As I turn my head I see this coming around the corner.
With built-in LED lighting and flip-down shelf. The shelf is half-width to allow for a slide-out fridge. The chain allows angle adjustment on uneven ground.
Match hues in one of your paintings and place them on a grid with those in the center vertical row being the most important.
Captain's Personal Log, the "Enterprise B" has been repaired and Captain Harriman and his crew are returning to their own dimension. I don't know if I believe their story, but I wish them the best. All the same, something about the way Harriman reacted to me made me personally uncomfortable.
