Our first contact with Crab-eating Macaques on Rinca, shortly after our arrival at the edge of small a mangrove forest, shot taken by my wife Konny with a Canon G10 compact camera. Rinca is hotter than hell, so carry sufficient drinking water instead of tons of camera equipment… and – of course – don't wear a black shirt. :)))
The capture above (and others on my stream) was taken during a 3 day expedition to Flores, Komodo and Rinca in July 2010. Rinca is one of four islands where the largest species of lizard in the world lives, the Komodo dragon.

Unser erster Kontakt mit Javaneraffen auf Rinca, kurz nach unserer Ankunft am Rande eines kleinen Mangrovenwaldes, aufgenommen von meiner Frau Konny mit einer Canon-G10-Kompaktkamera. Rinca ist heißer als die Hölle, also nehmt ausreichend Wasser mit anstatt tonnenschweres Kameraequipment.... und – natürlich – tragt kein schwarzes Shirt. :)))

Next halt- the Blood Compact Monument. This site tends to be rather nondescript thingy on the side of the road, with buildings on both sides and the open sea behind. Despite its supposed historical significance, there is not much hoo laa about it, it's just a bored place with a couple of trinkets sellers outside it. Good to stop by and take a picture, but little else. (Bohol- Tagbilaran, Philippines, May 2013)
