Very unusual 8x30 compact. Made in Japan, this is definitely intended as a pocket binocular as they have no attachment for a neck strap and measure just 4.5 ins x 3 ins wide closed. They are solid, well made and viewing is comfortable with smooth focusing. The 123m@1000m FOV views quite narrow, but the image is sharp, albeit not quite as bright as modern roof binoculars. Not sure how old these are, Opticron have been around for over 40 years, so my guess is late 1980s. Nice blue coatings. I'm not too sure it really meets the criteria for a compact, a little heavy for that, but overall, its not a bad little binocular.
Found this while going thru some things that were my parents. This little compact is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. There is still some powder in the puff but the powder compartment is empty. Either belonged to my mom or sister. My sister passed in 1944 and mom in 1988.
When Rollei makes a compact 35mm camera they do it right, proven in the Rollei 35 lineup. Now, mine is a later Singapore model, but it still shines. However, that doesn't mean the camera is without its faults, it's incredibly frustrating to load, rewind, and the scale focus doesn't help. But when it does work, it's magic.

First roll of film through my Canon Sureshot AF35MII camera. The Canon AF35M II was launched in 1983 and replaced the original AF35M which was Canon’s first autofocus 35mm lens-shutter compact camera. The active autofocus system used a near-infrared emitting diode and a pin photo diode to determine the subject position by triangulation. The autofocus area was marked on the reverse-Galilean optical viewfinder, which also had projected framelines, zone focusing marks for near, medium and far (lit to indicate the approximate area the autofocus had selected), parallax correction marks, and battery-check and camera-shake warning LEDs.
The lens was of 38 mm focal length and with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. A ring around the lens optic itself was used to set the film speed (ISO 25 to 400), which was indicated on a small window on the front of the lens assembly; also there, but below the lens optic itself, was the cadmium sulfide (CdS) photoresistor for the light meter. The location of this, inside the filter ring of the lens, meant that the meter would function accurately even with filters fitted to the lens.
Film transport was fully automatic in both directions, but the camera was not fitted with Canon's Quick Load feature; film still had to be manually threaded to the take-up spool.
An integral flash was fitted; this retracted into the top of the camera and was manually extended via releasing a catch on the camera's front. The unit had a guide number of 14 (at ISO 100 in meters) and featured auto-exposure with the camera's light meter as well as supporting fill flash. Also on the front was a self-timer control.
All electronic functions drew power from two AA batteries.
Here’s the Compact Jenny knock off called “Slender Girl” who looks to share the same sculpt as Compact Jenny but with 5 points of articulation instead of gumby wire limbs. Weirdly enough she also has Jenny’s underwear molded on (which the Compact Jenny doesn’t have molded on).
She’s a pretty good match to the Figma Archetype knock off body but she’s gonna get her own body in the mail.
This truck looked very similar to a Compaction Systems RL, but not 100% sure, once again on a DAF CF chassis and also spotted in Trafalgar Square.
A very appropriate word for my Olympus OM-D E-M5 Camera: COMPACT... 3rd Day shooting with the Micro 4/3 camera and I'm still surprised by how small and how much power this camera has...

The solar panels are embedded in the top, gathering energy even when there’s no direct sunlight. Each unit has a capacity of up to 150 gallons. That’s over four times the capacity of a traditional 35-gallon trash can. Built-in sensors detect when a container has reached capacity.
An “entry-level” unit starts around $1,800
