How can a library, a theatre and other cultural partners successfully coexist under one roof? Firstly by breaking down the walls...and secondly, by combining the architecture of public space with the design of programmability. The result is called Hub Kerkrade: not only a resource centre, but also a hotbed of knowledge, information, education and entertainment.
Kerkrade is a city in the southernmost province of the Netherlands, close to Germany. Hub Kerkrade, located in a former shopping centre, has a surface area of no less than 5,000 m2, which houses the theatre, the library, various cultural partners and the nearby Kerkrade Music School. This location is part of the revitalised city centre. The design of the Hub is a new co-creation of international creative guide and architect Aat Vos (design concept, strategy, creative direction) in collaboration with Mars Interior Designers (design, engineering).
Originally, the library occupied half of the building's surface and was separated from the theatre by a wall. The removal of the partitions created more space, light and a new idea for the foyer. This almost always empty space has been transformed into a multifunctional shared living space where people can work, study or meet. The focal point of this space is in the foyer: the theatre staircase is equipped with a beautiful banister and a reddish-pink carpet, covered on both sides with blue steel. The foyer bar was made of copper and is now set against a background of raw bricks, combined with an LED screen and a light box. The "break drinks cabinet" steals the show, both in terms of its size and the colour-changing lighting.

Oui Samantha, oui : ]
ton ami,
Ivan

Yes Samantha, yes : ]
In front of this sky so blue, the flowers,
teach us to admireher beauty,
sweet as the smile of our mothers,
but the cold winter wind blows them
and everything suddenly changes,
the sweetness of life is fleeting,
remember Samantha,
what to live well you need to know,
may I say,
despite all the frustration
what may appear to you
everyday,
is eternal and necessary our understanding,
our kindness to ourselves,
our capacity to love,
know the importance of loving ourselves,
always,
the life is beautiful when you deal with it wisely,
believe me, my friend,
yes, from time to time she is beautiful,
the life !
your friend,
Ivan

Little Wattlebird. (Scientific Name: Anthochaera chrysoptera)
The Little Wattlebird is the smallest of the wattlebirds.
It makes calls of loud clucking and distinctive unmusical calls.
This noisy bird comes to our garden on a regular basis.

Splendid Fairy-wren
Scientific Name: Malurus splendens
Description: The breeding plumage of the male is predominantly blue, varying from cobalt-blue in the east of its range to violet-blue in the west.It has black bands at the base of the tail (absent in the violet-blue birds), across the breast and from the beak, through the eyes to join a band across the back of its neck. Its crown and cheek patches are paler blue. Wings and long tail are brown with a blue wash. His beak is black and his legs and feet are brown-grey. In non-breeding plumage, called eclipse, he is very similar to the female, being pale brown above and buff to white underneath although he retains the blue wash on wings and tail. The female does not have the blue wash on her wings, but does have a reddish-tan line from beak to eye that extends into a ring around her eye. Her beak is reddish-tan.
Similar species: The male in breeding plumage is quite distinct but in eclipse he is similar to the males of other fairy-wrens in eclipse. A faint wash of blue on male wings during eclipse distinguishes this species from others. The female is similar to females of other fairy-wren species, but has a bluer tail than most.
Distribution: These birds are widely distributed across Australia in two areas. One area is from about Shark Bay south through WA, through SA except the coast to about the Flinders Ranges and the southern and central parts of NT. The eastern area include SA from the Flinders Ranges, the far north-western tip of Vic, NSW east to about Moree and Balranald and south central Qld.
Habitat: These birds live in arid to semi-arid areas, in mostly dense shrublands or woodlands of acacia, and mallee eucalypt with dense shrubs.
Seasonal movements: These birds are mostly sedentary, defending a territory all year, but the younger females may disperse to another territory. In some areas they are semi-nomadic, depending on local conditions.
Feeding: Like most of the fairy-wrens, Splendid Fairy-wrens eat mostly insects and forage on both the ground and in shrubs. They live in groups which forage together.
Breeding: The Splendid Fairy-wren female builds an oval domed nest of dry grass, strips of bark and rootlets, with an entrance two thirds of the way up one side. The female is the only member of the group to incubate the eggs, but all members of the group feed the chicks.
Calls: A rapid series of slightly metallic, high-pitched pips that blend into an "undulating" call.
Minimum Size: 12cm
Maximum Size: 14cm
Average size: 13cm
Average weight: 9g
Breeding season: mostly September-December, but can extend from August to April
Clutch Size: 2 to 4, mostly 3
Incubation: 15 days
Nestling Period: 11 days

I absolutely hate TAKS, our standardized test. We took it today. Literally, its a 36 question easy-as-hell multiple choice test that we have all day to take, though they shove us in a "secure test room" for 4 hours after weeks of prep talks and practice tests. Once we complete the test in a whopping 45 minutes, we sit in the maddening silence for the remainder of the time. No books, no paper, nada zippo. All for what? The school to look glittery and smart, so proud of its students? Mhmm.
See, when its the schools reputation at stake, all costs are taken (with a glass of salt, i must say ;] ) to make the students suceed. But when its our own grades, our own GPAs at stake, the school couldnt care less about conditions. Lame, so so lame.
Rant over.... now.

This photograph was taken for this week's challenge on my 52frames site.. "MAN". (Last week was my self portrait- for WOMAN.)
I truly love this photo of Juan.
I love this photograph of him, because it shows him.. The loyalty, the love, and the genuine great person that he is..
radiates in this photo! He is such an awesome person. So honest, pure & amazing. I am glad that he's my best friend and my life partner. I am grateful that God reunited us, and helped Juan to find me.. (he was looking for me-after we'd been separated). And ever since he found me that day... we have literally been inseparable.. and in love. God is so great. God had a plan and he brought us back together again.. Because we both deserved real happiness & love. And we found that thru God & Putting GOD first true happiness & love is possible.. and it's simply amazing. Thank you God.

I love FLICKR. My main/favorite photo site. However, a flickr friend did refer me to 52frames because it's one challenge a week (with a countdown timer) and it's a great site.
I just wanted to say, if anyone here is interested in challenges.. you should check it out. *its only one a week* with a timer.. I've been pushed outside of my photography comfort zone MANY TIMES & learned so many new techniques because of the challenges I've had to do.. and I am grateful for that.
My profile link is = 52frames.com/photographer/17600 IF you're interested.
(It's NOT like Flickr at all, it's just a challenge site/ one a week.) Flickr will always be my favorite photography community.. with my favorite friends... Great challenges.. Amazing talented photographers & So much more. Flickr is my online family. If I come on my computer while I'm at home, I am on Flickr. I don't even really check Facebook on my laptop.. *just my phone really*. My computer time is dedicated to Flickr.. (returning comments, viewing photos, uploading photos etc). I love it here.

I am a little behind on a couple of my challenges, but I plan to complete them (even if I go over the year deadline). I'm not going to give up. ;)
However, I have already figured out my 100x theme for next year.. (100x is a great challenge*) You pick your X.
Next year, I am going to do 100 Black & White Images.
__
As most of you know or can see I am a huge fan of COLOR! I do - do black and white images, but not very often. So next year (starting January 2022) I plan on pulling off 100 quality b&w images in between my huge explosions of color! I'm excited about it!
____
I hope everyone has a beautiful week!
I am about to head to work.. & then when I get home hopefully I will return some of these comments.
Thank you all for all of your kind words and meaningful comments. They truly make my day! I read and appreciate each and every one, so thank you again.
