Galah
Scientific Name:Eolophus roseicapillus
Description: The Galah can be easily identified by its rose-pink head, neck and underparts, with paler pink crown, and grey back, wings and undertail. Birds from the west of Australia have comparatively paler plumage. Galahs have a bouncing acrobatic flight, but spend much of the day sheltering from heat in the foliage of trees and shrubs. Huge noisy flocks of birds congregate and roost together at night.
Similar species: The Galah is generally unmistakable, but in flight may resemble aGang-gang Cockatoo in shape.
Distribution: The Galah is one of the most abundant and familiar of the Australian parrots, occurring over most of Australia, including some offshore islands.
Habitat: The Galah is found in large flocks in a variety of timbered habitats, usually near water.
Feeding: Galahs form huge, noisy flocks which feed on seeds, mostly from the ground. Seeds of grasses and cultivated crops are eaten, making these birds agricultural pests in some areas. Birds may travel large distances in search of favourable feeding grounds.
Breeding: Galahs form permanent pair bonds, although a bird will take a new partner if the other one dies. The nest is a tree hollow or similar location, lined with leaves. Both sexes incubate the eggs and care for the young. There is high chick mortality in Galahs, with up to 50 % of chicks dying in the first six months. Galahs have been recorded breeding with other members of the cockatoo family, both in the wild and captivity. These include the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, C. galerita.
Calls: The voice is a distinctive high-pitched screech, 'chi-chi'.
Minimum Size: 35cm
Maximum Size: 36cm
Average size: 36cm
Average weight: 337g
Breeding season: February to July in the north; July to December in the south
Clutch Size: 3 to 4

I know, I just posted an Elk silhouette sunset. But at least I changed it up this time and did a pic with 2 bull elk.
If I post another I'll do at least 3 bulls.
If the number of elk increases with each pic, does that make it even more repetitive, or more fun?
Either way, thanks for stopping by. Your comments and favs are always appreciated.

This lovely peaceful scene was taken just before dusk as we walked around the little harbour near us that protects all the small luxury boats. The skies suddenly became so beautiful it was a joy to see. Glad I am able to share this with you all.

Apostlebird (one of about twenty that landed in a tree within 5 metres from where I was sitting. They are unbelievably noisy! Not the most attractive bird, but they are real characters of the bush and always scruffy and grubby. They are also a very social bird. They went about their business as if I was not there.)
Scientific Name: Struthidea cinerea
Description: The Apostlebird is a medium-sized dark grey bird with a short strong bill, brown wings and black tail. It is normally seen in groups of six to ten birds, and is usally seen on the ground. It belongs to the group of birds known as 'mud-nesters', the Family Corcoracidae, noted for their communal life style and their bowl nests constructed of mud and plant fibres.
Similar species: The Apostlebird is often found in association with the White-winged Chough, which belongs to the same family and has similar habits (communal living, mud nests, ground-foraging). However the White-winged Chough is quite distinctive, being black with white wing panels visible in flight, as well as having a long curved beak and a bright red eye.
Distribution: The Apostlebird is found in eastern Australia in inland areas from lower Cape York Peninsula, Queensland to northern Victoria and from Naracoorte to Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia. There is also an isolated population in the Elliott and Katherine areas, Northern Territory.
Habitat: The Apostlebird is found in open dry forests and woodlands near water. It may also be found in farmlands with trees, as well as along roadsides, in orchards and on golf courses
Seasonal movements: Sedentary, with some local movements to more open areas in autumn and winter.
Feeding: The Apostlebird usually eats seeds and vegetable matter, insects and other invertebrates and, sometimes, small vertebrates. In autumn and winter, it will move to more open country, where seeds become the more important part of its diet. The Apostlebird forages on the ground in groups, often in association with the White-winged Chough. The Apostlebird can also be known as the 'Grey Jumper', for its hopping gait and, because it lives in groups, it can be known collectively as the 'Happy Family' or the 'Twelve Apostles'.
Breeding: Apostlebirds form a 'breeding unit' of around ten related birds - a dominant male and several females plus immature birds (the previous season's young) that act as helpers. The nest is a large mud bowl, placed on a horizontal branch 3 - 20 m high, and reinforced and lined with grass. All members of a group assist with nest building, as well as feeding of nestlings, while only the adults usually incubate the eggs. More than one female may lay eggs in the same nest. While many eggs may be laid usually only four nestlings will survive to fledge, with numbers possibly restricted by the size of the nest. Two broods may be raised in a season.
Calls: Rough, scratchy, discordant: 'ch-kew ch-kew'; also: nasal 'git-out' when disturbed.
Minimum Size: 29cm
Maximum Size: 33cm
Average size: 31cm
Average weight: 128g
Breeding season: August to March
Clutch Size: Two to five; more when more than one female lays
Incubation: 18 days
Nestling Period: 18 days

Voilà comment les Mésanges bloquent entre leurs pattes
ce qu'elles mangent, elles ont souvent le bec avec encore des miettes de manger,
par contre les pattes (noires une des seules) sont toujours très propres
Ici la photo le montre bien.

Comb-creasted Jacana
Scientific Name: Irediparra gallinacea
Description: The Comb-crested Jacana, also known as the Lotusbird, has a red fleshy forehead comb, a black crown, back and breast and brown wings. The belly, face and throat are white, and there is a faint yellow tinge around the eye and throat. Both sexes are similar in appearance, but the female is larger than the male, and slightly brighter in colour. In flight, the long legs and toes trail behind the body. Young Jacanas resemble the adult birds, but are rufous to black on the head and nape, and have a rufous-black breast band. The red fleshy comb is much smaller and darker.
Distribution: Comb-crested Jacanas occupy coastal and sub-coastal regions from the Kimberleys, Western Australia, through northern Australia to about Grafton, New South Wales. They are more common in the north of their range. The species also occurs in New Guinea, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Habitat: Comb-crested Jacanas are found in tropical and subtropical freshwater wetlands, including lagoons, billabongs, swamps, lakes, rivers, sewage ponds and dams, providing there is adequate floating vegetation.
Seasonal movements: Comb-crested Jacanas will move to new locations, particularly in response to changes in their current habitat, such as droughts or excessive flooding.
Feeding: The Comb-crested Jacana feeds on aquatic insects, which it seizes from floating vegetation or the surface of the water. It also feeds on seeds and aquatic plants. Birds rarely come to shore. When searching for food, the Comb-crested Jacana bobs its head and flicks its tailed continuously.
Breeding: The female Comb-crested Jacana may mate with several males, while the male alone builds the nest, incubates the eggs and cares for the young. If danger threatens the young birds, the male has the curious habit of picking the chicks up under his wings and carrying them off to safety.
Minimum Size: 20cm
Maximum Size: 23cm
Average size: 21cm
Breeding season: September to May (later in the north than in the east)

All say mashallah !
You think you know me,
But you don’t.
You see me smile and think everything's fine.
But that's only the mask I show you on the outside...
Inside I'm dying.
Lying awake and crying.
I feel as if I'm falling.
Falling from the light.
This pain in my heart is heavy.
Its suffocating me.
Crushing my dreams.
You stand watching still seeing my smile.
I'm hiding behind this mask I made.
To keep you out and my feelings in.
Because I know if you knew my secret.
You'd expose me....
