Some painters are painting my kitchen & shower room and for two days I can't use either. Feralization, here I come.
Name: Kris Email:
Comment: why did you have to use the word feralization? I couldnt even find that on dictionary.com but did come up with a hacked definition from some website on google searching
# The process of feralization (i.e. the adaptation of domesticated animals when returned to their natural habitat)
You elitist bastard.
Name: Jordan Email:
Comment: I was writing the caption and thought "mabye I can use the word feral, although I'm not 100% on what it means," so I googled it, confirmed that it meant something sort of close to what I'd thought, and then saw the word "feralization" on the wikipedia page and decided to use that, even though I'm not sure if it's a "real" word and have never, in my life, heard or seen it used before.

Comment: I've decided that i need to get things done. This book should surely help me. and i will have to implement this on my PC sometime soon

i will set all this up as soon as i get enough time.

Comment: This whole GTD system is quite popular among the whole web 2.0 crowd and probably 80% of silicon valley.
Just thinking about implementing this entire system stresses me out, as though it's one more thing I have to get finished. Forget it.
Name: Kris Email:
Comment: Do you have to set up a whole system though? I was under the impression that you could do the whole thing on a post-it note pad. No?
Name: Jordan Email:
Comment: Clearly you must need more than a post-it note if this is the goal:

Comment: DAMNIT JORDAN. YOU'RE IN BELGIUM, PICK UP YOUR CAMERA WOULD YA!
Name: Breads Email:
Comment: Damnit Jordan, I thought your site would take off while residing in Europe. Instead, it sits here stagnant. When I found out you were leaving for Belgium, I told James sarcastically to go take another picture of a bus because I was certain that his site would pale in comparison to photos from your European adventures. Instead, the opposite has happened. This photo, in particular, highlights your lazy attitude towards the upkeep of this site. It's a photo of an alley, which has been done a hundred times before by Pope, only better. I could probably re-create this photo by running behind a Blockbuster on my lunch break. Come on, mister. Get it together, for those of us who aren't going to school Belgium for a year. Do more, better, now.
Name: Jordan Email:
Comment: I've been somewhat busy, but I have lots of photos to fill the next several days. Don't you worry.
Name: Kris Email:
Comment: Yes - Jordan has gone to the dumps all over europe secretly. And James and Pope will never find them.
If you know anything about this car, it's specs, it's history, please post a comment.
2012. the year of the vintage (made between 1919 and 1930), veteran (pre-1919) and old.
No Classic cars (That comes in the 2013 run).
For more information look at www.baytobirdwood.com.au/the_run.html
I got to the grounds early (about 6am) and watched the oval fill from nothing. 1800 cars were expected for the biggest event of this type in the world.
From the website
"The sun will not yet have risen over the Adelaide Hills when the very first vehicles start arriving at Adelaide Shores. It may only be 6am but the excitement will already be palpable as these marvellous veteran, vintage and early classic vehicles ready themselves for the biennial Bay to Birdwood Run.
Breakfast With The Cars has become a tradition and this is the spectators' opportunity to mix 'n mingle with entrants and their vehicles. Enjoy a range of breakfasts provided by local service organisations washed down with jazz and other vintage entertainment, line the start ahead of the flag off by the one and only Glen Dix at 8:30 am and be a part of this icon event. It takes approximately 1.5 hours for all entrant vehicles to depart on the route to Birdwood - give them a send off they won't forget!
Vehicles head down West Beach Road after the official Start turning right into Tapleys Hill Road then left into Anzac Highway. Their journey through metropolitan Adelaide en route to the Finish at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood enables the spectators who line the 72km route each year to see Australia's greatest motoring show on wheels pass right in front of them - 2 hours of motoring history!"
The cars need to meet strict guidelines and the drivers and passangers are encouraged to dress in period clothes.
"Only those motor vehicles built and at ready for sale stage on or before 31 December 1955 are eligible to take part.
The onus of proof of date of build is the responsibility of the entrant and if required by the Committee must be substantiated and be supported by a Statutory Declaration. In the event of false information being supplied all entry monies will be forfeited.
All motor vehicles must be substantially to manufacturers' specifications, roadworthy and of acceptable standard of quality in the opinion of the Committee."
I enjoyed the ride. We passed many broken down cars whilst gliding along in my fathers Jowett Javelin.
We ended up in the fields behind the Birdwood Mill. We looked through the muesum and also the best dressed cars in the Concours d'Elegance. We listened to period music and poked about amongst the cars.

A more "Full" body shot of Hershey. Haven't had the camera in about a month now. Lots going on around here. My Daughter-in Law is Japanese. She and my son were married in court a little over a year ago. My wife and I were the only ones in attendance. Her parents are coming in from Japan on Monday. We (my wife and I) will be meeting them on Tuesday at Dinner at a restaurant. To celebrate,we are having another wedding ceremony on Wednesday evening. Small gathering of about 30 people. Should be interesting as they don't speak English and we don't speak Japanese. My Daughter-in Law will be there to interpret(Hopefully!!) Lots of preparation. Hope you understand my lack of comments. My son has decided that I will be his "Photographer" for the evening. Lets see how This works out!!!

"Mmm, in 1906, the Fire gutted the inside, the roof and the original windows, but the walls are still the original 1854 structure.. The sign (replaced, of course, it's wood...) below the clock still has the same saying (before 1906, there was a brothel across California Street) "Son, observe the time and fly from evil..."

Old Saint Mary's Cathedral & Chinese Mission
A Missionary Community of Faith Served by the Paulist Fathers Since 1894
Old St. Mary's Cathedral: Old St. Mary's is one of the most prominent buildings in the Chinatown area. The cathedral was built by Chinese laborers in 1854 using brick that was shipped around Cape Horn and granite from China. Though the original was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, the cathedral was rebuilt in 1909. 660 California St. www.sfgate.com/neighborhoods/sf/chinatown/

The Site of Old St. Mary's
Cornerstone 1853
Dedicated 1854
The first building erected as a cathedral in California, Old St. Mary's served the archdiocese of San Francisco in that capacity from 1854 to 1891. Once the city's most prominent building, much of its stone work was quarried and cut in China and its brick brought "around the Horn" in sailing ships. California Registered Historical Landmark No.810. Plaque placed by the California State Park and Commission in cooperation with the Paulist Fathers and the Grand Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, May 7, 1966.
Old St. Mary's Church was established by Father Henry Ignatius Stark as a mission. The purpose was to teach the Chinese community about the Catholic faith. It was built by Chinese laborers in 1854 with brick brought around Cape Horn and granite cut in China. It was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and rebuilt in 1909. Across from this Catholic landmark is St. Mary's Square, where a 12-foot statue of Sun Yat Sen, founder of the Chinese Republic (1911-1913), is located. www.sanfranciscochinatown.com/attractions/oldstmary.html
