On 29 January 1971, the first to Royal Air Force Puma helicopters were delivered into service.
To commemorate 50 years of service, Puma HC Mk2 XW224 has been given a unique new paint scheme.
The engine housing boasts the badges of all the squadrons who have flown the Puma, both as a HC Mk 1 and a HC Mk 2;
The tail fin is emblazoned with the union flag;
The standard Royal Air Force logo on the cabin door has been replaced with the bespoke Puma 50 logo.

During operations, Sappers perform tasks like building bridges for tanks, demolishing enemy structures, and clearing obstacles and minefields. They are considered combat soldiers with a technical edge.
The Royal Engineers (RE), or Sappers, are a corps of the British Army that provides engineering and technical support for military and disaster relief operations. Their duties include building and demolishing structures, constructing bridges, clearing minefields, and providing clean water. They also have specialist roles such as bomb disposal, armoured engineering, and amphibious assault support.

Cleaning up the undercarriage and keeping low on departure from RAF Fairford's RIAT 2024 display is this Hellenic Air Force McDonnell Douglas F4E Phantom II. Fantastic to see this iconic dual seat Fighter aircraft originally flown by the USAF in 1960. Often affectionately known as "the old smokey" or "the big ugly" Hellenic Air Force ordered 58 of these beauties in 1971 under the "Peace Icarus programme" and are flown 117 Pteriga Makhis combat wing in Greece.
