Golden Green Stag Beetles - Lamprima Latreillii
Locked in fierce combat. One male will attempt to flip the other, rendering the foe powerless. Then, the champion will have his pick of the lady beetles.
Today's story and sketch by me #1385, is about the pedestrian that just dropped out of a dimension portal onto a banana palm. Where this alien came from, and why he, she , or it, arrived driving a full combat mobility transport vehicle, to this Tropical Volcanic Planet we call Budahunga. Is a very big mystery. As I slowly hover above hoping this entity is friendly, and doesn't get hostile, before I can make personal contract. But as I'm approaching I having second thoughts, about this contact, I make the executive decision, to get Deputy Cosmo here as soon as possible to make first contact. How that first contact turns out, will surely be interesting, but that will have to be a story for another time, until then Tata the Rod Blog.
Departing Prestwick after a quick gas n go is this one of a pair of British Army Wildcat's.
The AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat (previously called the Future Lynx and Lynx Wildcat) is a British military helicopter. It is an improved version of the Westland Super Lynx designed to serve in the battlefield utility, search and rescue and anti-surface warfare roles. In British service, common variants are being operated by both the Royal Navy and British Army, having replaced their Lynx Mk.7/8/9 predecessors. The AW159 has also been offered to several export customers, and has been ordered by the Republic of Korea Navy and the Philippine Navy.
Decided to change some things on my old Combat Golem, specifically the weapons. Those are mini-railguns on the arms now.
Embracing strength and happiness on this beautiful day!
Enjoying some combat fun with amazing friends.

A near-future unmanned battle mech, developed by the USMC.
Not really a "mech builder", but I had fun with this one. My entry for Sopwith_The_Camel's mech contest.
Displaying at the National Museum of the Marine Corps on April 11th, I had to come up with something featuring the USMC and also what’s apparently become my theme this year, the Anniversary of Something, so here’s my take on this iconic conflict. I only had about 6 hours to build it, so no border, and I would have liked to build up those ramparts higher but overall, fairly satisfied with this one. 100% LEGO except for the custom flags.

Ever forget something that was really important not to forget?
The Battle of New Orleans, fought on January 8, 1815 was the last major combat of the War of 1812. 4732 American combatants, commanded by Major General Andrew Jackson, prevented nearly 11,000 British infantry and Royal Marines, commanded by General Edward Pakenham, from seizing New Orleans as a strategic prize to end the war. The war was actually over by the time the main battle was fought, ended by the Treaty of Ghent on December 24, 1814, but since the US government had not yet approved the treaty, the fighting in Louisiana would continue until the British withdrew on January 18th. One of the most lop-sided victories in history, the British advanced under very heavy fire only to find once they reached the American ramparts that the ladders necessary to ascend the fortifications were not available, having been forgotten by the negligence of the Colonel in charge of them. With limited access to the Americans and taking fire the entire time, all British officers over the rank of Major were killed, leaving no one to sound the retreat. Their casualties were therefore disproportionately high, losing over 2000 in just 25 minutes of fighting, compared to less than 100 American casualties (only 13 were actually killed). As for the USMC, 58 US Marines fought at New Orleans and they are the American troops I am portraying here.

The Vaygr Assault Craft is the smallest dedicated combat vessel in the Vaygr fleet. specializes in dogfighting other fighters, with excellent speed, maneuverability, and a single, powerful forward-mounted Flechette Cannon. It is sometimes classed as an 'interceptor' by other races, and this suits it well as it excels at intercepting and destroying other fighters.
Last year, I had the fortune of working with BrickFormation to develop several models from one of my all-time favorite strategy game franchises: Homeworld. Homeworld has always had a special place in my heart due to it's incredible spaceship designs and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to reproduce a few as best as I could. While this build has been done for quite some time, it can finally be posted, because the kit is officially for sale!
As this is my last post in a while, I also wanted to add a short update on things. Other than these models with Brickformation, my LEGO building has been at a standstill for most of the past year. I recently moved and all of my LEGO is currently in boxes with no timeline on when it will next be unearthed. I seem to be continuing a trend of building less and less things each year and am not sure quite when that trend will reverse. That said, I continue to enjoy watching the creative models that this community continues to put on display and hope one day to jump back in as time allows.

I wanted to try doing camo in 0.6, and I got this...Is it any good?
Hello again. I've had half a year off from photography (well, I've taken some pics, just not done anything with them) so haven't posted anything for a while but this does mean I've got a huge amount of pics to get through. I'll start with Autumn. Hopefully they'll be done before it comes round this year!
Upper Aysgarth Falls from a point of view you don’t normally see.
I had to go straight through the middle area of the shot to get here. Some local forest dwellers tripped me with a rope on the way across but after defeating their leader in stick based combat they allowed me to lead them against the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Most of them died in the conflict.
That’ll seem pretty weird if you haven’t seen the film.

With a few days till the end of Legomoc's contest, I thought I'd upload my entry before it's too late. With so many clone troopers being overdone these days, I wanted to make something unique and new.
Honestly, this fig was fun to make, but a pain in the ass! Anyway, let's go over the elements:
-Helmet: custom molded from 2 action figure helmets (tie fighter pilot and clone trooper) The helmet also incorporated a TT radio as an antenna, a warhammer piece on the helmet, and several Republic customs decals. I used some shiny black testor's paint to make the visor more shiny. This is the only time I used Testor's paint, as it's too thick for my taste. The rest was painted with citadel.
-Body armor: A set of brickwarriors Gears of War RT armor, painted and decal'ed. Features hand painted Star wars droid language on shoulder straps (?). A warhammer piece is attached to the chest, giving the soldier more bulkiness. A republic customs decal was applied on the left shoulder and then painted over, to make the ACT (Advanced Combat Trooper) insignia.
-Jetpack: a retired(?) Brick Affliction jump pack, painted and decale'd. Republic customs decals are on the sides of it.
-Arms/hands: Republic customs decals cover most of the arm, with Brickforge Vambrances covering the other half. The left one even features the communication device! The hands have bits of Brickwarriors greaves.
-Body: Republic customs decals cover the body under the armor.
-Hip piece: BrickMOC Modern combat Rig hip piece
-Legs: Republic customs decals on top of brickwarriors modified greaves. Brickwarriors greaves scraps are also on the sides of the legs, which had to be sculpted on to give them more bulkiness. A TT pouch is on the left leg.
-Minigun: I knew this fig had to have a minigun, to suit his bulky build, so I found the Minigun that Republic Customs gave me long ago during his eBay days as a freebie. I;m not sure on who originally made it though.
Well that's it! Hope you guys enjoy! Hugely inspired by many of you!
