Their duties include building and demolishing structures, constructing bridges, clearing minefields, and providing clean water. They also have specialist roles such as bomb disposal, armoured engineering, and amphibious assault support.

Two "knights" engage in a "battle to the death" for the entertainment of spectators late last summer at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, near Holly, Michigan. I have to say that it did look and sound pretty realistic at times. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a completely clear shot of the action, but that railing in the foreground, along with the one in the background, qualifies this shot for Fence Friday, to my way of thinking. :-)
