On the airport service 400, seen at the start of its journey at Fort Kinnaird, Volvo B5LH / Gemini 3 number 584 (SJ67 MGV) 'Fab U Bus' is in celebration of LGBT Pride Edinburgh. During the summer months it's been mostly operating on the three 'local' airport services numbers 200, 300 and 400, but at the end of August and September it has started to explore other routes including the 22 and 23 - I can't wait to see it on the 36!
Gemini 3 Hybrid 584 is in partnership with Pride Edinburgh and Lothian is now the organisation's transport partner, helping to promote equality and diversity in and around the capital city.
584's rainbow colour splash has been designed by Lothian's in-house design team and gifted to Pride Edinburgh at the Scotia March in June. It's a great hit with the Edinburgh public.

A colour splash from the setting sun reflects off the waters of False Creek. A sailor ties his dinghy to the sailboat so he can

Wishing all my friends on Flickr a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! In case you're wondering, the camera is my Fuji X100T.
My aloes have flowered beautiful bright red flowers, as it rained for the first time since before Christmas, the 4 cm long tubular aloe flowers catch the micro sized raindrops. these flowers come from a aloe that has sharp spines along the side of its leaves.
This started off as a copycat of the fabulous Froukje, but then somehow wandered off into some bizarre photoshop doodle. No idea where the heart came from, but it just seemed right to add it.
I suppose that photoshop is a guilty pleasure, so it fits in todays FGR theme, and the splash of red probably also puts it in the TOTW theme too.
Any way I had fun with this, forcing my son to pose for me, then doodling away..... It isn't perfect, but I learnt a bit more about photoshop which was half the point of it.
The 10s are back 😎😻 :)
Here is one of my favourite shots from years back when the aviation world was a lot more interesting! Showing the scene that greeted my arrival on the roof terrace at Gatwick one morning in the 1980s - a rare combination of three DC-10s parked together at the new Gatwick terminal, making a very colourful sight - enhanced by the fact that the DC-10 just happened to be my favourite widebody!
Whilst World and American operated scheduled flights into London Gatwick, the Ghana DC-10 9G-ANA was more of a Heathrow machine, and seldom seen at Gatwick. However, in the summers of 1985 & 86 the aircraft operated flights between Gatwick and Barbados for Caribbean Airways.
9G-ANA c/n 48286 - McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 was delivered new to Ghana Airways in February 1983 and flew with the airline for its entire life. The aircraft was leased in the summer seasons of 1985 and 1986 to Gatwick based Caribbean Airways. The aircraft was impounded at London Heathrow 28th May 2002 with the airline in liquidation, departing on 2nd June. Impounded again at Rome FCO 30th June 2003 - eventually returned to the USA and scrapped around 2005.
Taken using a Soviet made Zenith TTL camera and 300mm lens.

Found this lovely bed of vibrant flowers at Kelsey Park on Sunday. I haven't adjusted the colours at all, only sharpened and cropped.

Unlike what most people believe, Brazil isn't all jungle! In Central Brazil, the vegetation is called "Cerrado", which is actually very similar to the African Savannah. There is this particular period of the year in which the grass is so dry that we have spontanous fires...and yet, at the same time, the "Pau Roxo" (Purple Tree) is in full bloom, making for this awesome contrast of colours!
Taken in early Antalya in early autumn (!), still felt like summer to an Englishman (!), either way...brightens up these grey winter days!
Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!
I really appreciate them!

I thought I'd take advantage of the fact that we had to go to Ikea yesterday to get some plates to grab the camera and take some shots from the roof of the car park as the sun was setting. Colour or colour splash? That is the question!
