The eyes are the windows to the soul, and they are the focus of this photograph. The eyes are well-lit and in sharp focus. They convey emotion and expression. The fabric is well-lit, and the light is flattering to the subject. The fabric frames the subject's face and complements the subject's features. It fits the mood and style of the photograph.' At Ingliston's Park and Ride, near to Edinburgh Airport, Volvo B5LH / Gemini 3 number 584 (SJ67 MGV) 'Fab U Bus' wears this fantastic colour design in celebration of LGBT Pride Edinburgh's rally held in June. This event has been shared between Glasgow and Edinburgh since the mid 1990's and always attracts huge crowds and participants.
Gemini 3 Hybrid 584 is in partnership with Pride Edinburgh and Lothian is now the organisation's transport partner, helping to promote equality and diversity in and around the capital city.
584's rainbow colour splash has been designed by Lothian's in-house design team and gifted to Pride Edinburgh at the Scotia March in June. It became an instant hit with the Edinburgh public.
I thought I'd take advantage of the fact that we had to go to Ikea yesterday to get some plates to grab the camera and take some shots from the roof of the car park as the sun was setting. Colour or colour splash? That is the question!
Splash
I was recently challenged to create a photo using the theme ”splash”. Several hours, many berries, hundreds of tries and a very wet countertop later .. this splash photo resulted. In addition a technique was employed where a single colour (red in this case) appears on an otherwise black and white image. The technique is ironically called colour splash photography. Shot at 1/2000 sec with 2 studio light panels
Originally colour popped using colour splash on the iPhone, but I redid the shop in photoshop for better precision

On the airport service 400, seen at the start of its journey at Fort Kinnaird, Volvo B5LH / Gemini 3 number 584 (SJ67 MGV) 'Fab U Bus' is in celebration of LGBT Pride Edinburgh. During the summer months it's been mostly operating on the three 'local' airport services numbers 200, 300 and 400, but at the end of August and September it has started to explore other routes including the 22 and 23 - I can't wait to see it on the 36!
