Just a perfect day
drink sangria in the park
And then later when it gets dark
we go home
Just a perfect day
feed animals in the zoo
Then later a movie too
and then home
Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
Just a perfect day
problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own
it's such fun
Just a perfect day
you made me forget myself
I thought I was someone else
someone good
Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
While a large portion of Britain has been hit by snow again, here in lovely Plymouth we have been lucky and missed it completely, even though we were forecast 10-15cm of the white stuff, in fact we had a flurry but it was more like dandruff falling from the sky.
We have been hit with a cold spell with very strong winds, it has been freezing outside, apart from going to mums to work we have stayed inside within the warm, covered in blankets, having cuddles and watching films.
Hope all my Flickr friends who have been hit with snow in their hometowns are staying safe on the roads.

Went for a ride in the woods near Trek in Waterloo to properly break in my Surly Wednesday, as aforementioned "Bruce." Trails were steep and not well ridden, making for a challenging ride but this is all part of the learning process. Thank you to my friend Rodney for the hookup for special access to the site.
Surly Wednesday
The lake is frozen...its been well below freezing for several weeks now. The late afternoon sun warms up the bare willow tree.
Formerly a Navy Airline Base ....there were jet fighters and paved runways here. Now its Gallery Park and Lake Glenview.
For this week's assignment you need to "Frame" your subject with something natural or staged...But..Not with Photoshop or one of those other funky programs.
Restriction: No imported frame.
Dare:Take the assignment literally.
As I don't have a puppy, not taking it literally this time 'round. When the daytime temperature does not rise above -10 degrees Celsius (or 14 degrees Fahrenheit) we can warm our home with our high efficiency wood burning fireplace. I love the way we designed the mantle for it.
WIT: early morning hours, tripod, changes to levels, and slight crop. I am disappointed about the bowing effect of my wide angle lens. I got PS Elements for Christmas (YAY!), but am not sure if I can fix something like that in the software - yet. If I figure it out, I'll update.
Today while I was out doing my usual snapping of photos around the capitol square, I was asked "Is it cold enough for you?"by Laverne (R). Apparently dressing in multiple layers and looking like I was set out for an arctic expedition gave that impression. I chuckled and exclaimed it was only bound to get worse. We made some small talk and then asked me if I could help her with a couple dollars for bus fare. As it only seemed fair, I indeed had a couple dollars and we made an agreement that I would trade it for the exchange of a few photographs. I pulled my bills from my frozen pockets, and handed them away (as is often the case while looking for the less fortunate to donate my time to in one way or another). I learned that the man with her was her eldest son, Christopher: she spoke very highly of him while he stood probably ever curious why his mother was talking to some random stranger. I discussed my stance on certain issues in the city, mainly panhandling (as I have mentioned in previous writings). Madison has a homeless problem and while our city is small in comparison to a larger metropolis area, the homeless are people too. Plenty of times over the last two going on three years I've lived downtown I've seen warming shelters this time of year when the nights are long and days cold. But every year when the spring thaw comes, the city shuts down the shelter and often times the site is demo'd to put up a fancier building with crazy rent prices. Sitting at the bus stop as just a passerby (not waiting for a bus) just put things into perspective for me even more. Why should someone have to resort to sleeping on the street in the cold, when there could be suitable shelters all year round? Laverne told me that sometimes it seems like the homeless are the population that many forget, Eventually society will get a wake up call, it could be blatant and in your face or it could just be creeping along slowly. Take a notice to those around you and realize that we are all human no matter our situation! Chris was quietly acknowledging everything that his mother said while trying to keep warm, so when we parted ways I gave another dollar for the conversation.

It was snowing today and we went outside to feel snowflakes falling down on us.
Flavie wanted to get back inside at one point but once we were inside, she wanted to go outside again...so we did! We got back inside several minutes later and as we got in, she started contemplating the fresh snow outside again. However, we didn't go back outside that time ;)
