I had every intention last night to get up and shoot Pikes Peak from the Garden of the Gods visitor center this morning. The freezing cold tempertures changed my mind! I figure I had a good enough view of the peak from my kitchen window where it was nice and toasty. Took a few shots then back to bed with my electric blanket.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

I don't know how I feel about this. It was too cold out for me to keep trying different things. I can't afford to miss school this week due to mid-terms so being outside while being sick probably wasn't the best idea I've had in awhile.
I've been tagged half a bajillion times so I guess I should do this:
1. I can't believe my 365 is almost over. I think I might do a 52 weeks project after my 365 is over.
2. Tissues have become my best friend these past few days.
3. I have a Stich stuffed animal keychain on my car keys so I'll never lose them. Plus, Stich is a little cutie.
4. I want to thank you guys for every comment, favorite and view. I know I haven't been keeping up with everyone's streams I really apoligize for that and I'll get back on track with that, but even still, you guys still come to my stream and show my pictures some lovin'<3
5. I'm soooo hungry. Good thing I'm about to eat soon :]
6. My sister might be adopting a kitten soon! Keep your fingers crossed that she gets her. We went to see her at the shelter yesterday and she is cute as a button.
7. I'm obsessed with Facebook, unfortunately :/
8. I got strobe equipment for Christmas. I still haven't used it...
9. I've been eating 3 Musketeer bars like they've been going out of style lately.
10. I have friends who I can't trust (with the exception of Nickie). Yet, I don't do anything about it.
2night we are expecting snow...in the high country at least 4 feet of snow, i am soooo excited =o)....altho it's cold outside, i'm soo happy....
^i^
I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
C'mon baby
I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard before
I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside
Brr its cold...
It's cold out there
Cant you stay awhile longer baby
Well... I really shouldn't... alright
Make it worth your while baby
Ahh, do that again...

PCA: Black on Black/White on White
Photograph a black object against a black background or a white object against a white background. The key to this assignment will be on how to maneuver all your camera settings! It puts into practice how to adjust the AV, EV, shutter speed, ISO, lighting etc. to create a photograph with focused edges of the object so that it does not get lost in the background. Hint: lighting is key…
WT: We had a cold snap in the last couple of weeks. One very chilly morning, (I think it was around -20 C), I took my "good" camera to the barn. We had a fog that night and then the sun came out. What a glorious day! It was also a miracle as my battery had been flashing before I left the house and then I was out in the battery killing cold too!
Here is Romeo is his dirty glory. I really don't know how a horse gets so dirty when all he has to lay in is snow!
In post, I cropped so his shadow was still visible and eliminated the hill behind him. He stands out nicely against the very white snow as he is (apparently) more cream coloured.
Meet Randy the second stranger that I was able to shoot on a late spring day in Laramie. If you read my last stranger you will know that Randy and Alex are friends who were walking together when I initially approach. As I mentioned in my previous post I had approached Randy inside a near by building because of her exposed hair and extremely colorful scarf. After explaining the project she had immediately volunteered her friend Alex (Stranger 37) who took some wonderful portraits in the snow.
After getting outside into the slightly sheltered location and shooting a few portraits of Alex I asked her, “Are you sure you don’t want a portrait?” I think after looking at a few of the images on the back of my camera she volunteered. She was starting to pull the scarf up pretty high, and I said why don’t you go a head and pull it all way up and just leave your eyes exposed. Since the scarf was so colorful, and would capture how cold it really was outside I thought it surely couldn’t hurt. I also think it helped Randy relax a little bit more behind the camera. I thought it would make for a great portrait if I could nail the focus on the eyes. I think the result was great.
Randy, I hope that you enjoy your portrait and thank you for being a part of my 100 Strangers Project!

I didn't quite get what i wanted out of this image :( i was really hoping for some snow, but of course when i step outside with my camera it stops.
I drove and drove- two hours ended up here. Turned the music up, then off. I loved the way these trees framed this building-- jumped out of the car in the freeze--- here it is.
