Cold+Dark+Wet - Greg Brown
I went to a watercolor class where all worked on large sheets and I did a journal
page...It was such a fun class to visit and
since I forgot to bring my lunch I
dined on HodgePodge Stew and Parmesan bread...so that was a good forget...I don't think I'll ever want to do large works as I enjoy the journaling size so much ! You'll have to left click to see it larger.
I added snowflakes, a fence and a snowman that were not in the small sample photo we got (always thinking of what can I add to something ) and really want to go over there in nice weather and buy some
of the things they sell....

As Chicago ventured outside to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, temperatures dropped low enough to turn beers to slush!
cold frost to the bones of a wind
the moon glows a dark moonlight blue
ghostly this land may be
for not a whisper is heard nor a scream

We are sitting at a balmy +5 F. in Hobart, Indiana this afternoon as CFE FWCH heads west at maybe half of track speed at most due to cold weather slow orders. The temps are above where they were a couple of days ago, and if the tradeoff for the cold temps is sunshine, I'll take it. Cold I can dress for, sunshine just has to happen, and has been a rare commodity here for weeks. The last three days of bright sun is welcome. January 16, 2023.
An LNER DVT is propelled south, on a cold but bright October morning down the East Coast main line, passing Eggborough power station with the line to Drax in the foreground.
A small stream that flows into lake Elliðavatn, SW Iceland. I thought this looked better in b&w, the light was pretty grayish anyway :)
Only on a cold frigid morning up in the high country have I seen these colors. This was such a morning up atop the Grand Mesa of Colorado at about 10,000 feet. Every shiver was worth it to see this beauty.
