42968 departs loughborough with the first service of the day on a very cold winters morning January 2009
I'm having a hard time chasing the chill away after having to stand outside for 2 hours. My hands just won't warm up!

Stood in cold water, very cold water, for about 2 hours waiting for the clouds to finally drift in front of this peak just behind Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park, Montana (where I had the good fortune to get married) this past July (2009). My feet had seen better days. This was my first real shot with my new Canon 5D Mkii. I also brought my old Nikon gear as backup on this trip... turned out my 18-200 mm no longer focused to infinity (or anything > 3m). Anyway, hope you all enjoy your Black Friday.
This photo is dedicated to my wife's grandmother, who we just learned is in the final weeks of her 92-year long life.
Single RAW exposure. Singh-Ray 3 stop GND filter. B+W C-PL to remove the foreground glare. Slight level adjustments in Photoshop CS4.

Short story...arrived late at this spot...left my tripod in car? half asleep..came back took one photo and got soaked up to the knees..wellies in car!

It was snowing Thursday morning...just a little bit, but enough to remind everyone that it is still winter. Shot this with an iPhone as I was getting ready to go to work...my Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt Heart Cliche. HCS, guys!
During a winter morning walk I saw these bare trees reflected in the lake. The blue and red tones show how cold it was.
Shot one year ago today. Today the little snow we had this weekend have rained away again. But it was a beautiful winter's day one year ago, and I and Richard had a lovely photography road trip to Stavanger.
