Racks of Atlantic cod, drying in the cold Arctic air, are a common sight in the Lofoten Islands. These islands are located off the Norwegian mainland, above the Arctic circle.

Once a summer fishing ground for inshore fishing families, the fishing hut of the three Mudge brothers and their families has been restored. They used it in the summer from 1941 - 1975 as they fished and canned lobster.
