This was taken on an afternoon trip to Cod Beck Reservoir, just outside Osmotherley. A lovely way to spend a quiet evening, on one of the first warm days of the year.

A long-established favourite of the village and last defence from the ravages of the North Sea the pub has felt the wrath of the waves on at least three occasions. The last in the great storm of 1953 when the front was washed away and the fishermen looked on in sorrow as the precious bottles of brew bobbed about on the retreating foam ;-(
Locals will tell you that, until very recently, one had to wait for a retreating wave before making a dash into or out of the bar to avoid getting your feet wet! As the sign says: “In rough weather please use the other door.
Staithes is a seaside village in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire, England. Roxby Beck, a stream running through Staithes, is the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland. Formerly one of the many fishing centres in England, Staithes is now largely a tourist destination within the North York Moors National Park.

A backlit Cod Rock on the the Bicheno foreshore, Tasmania. The trees on Redbill Point behind the rock.
Big swell making on the beaches behind the point and a lot of sea spray/mist in the atmosphere right on sundown/late golden hour.
