We were fortunate to see a fishing boat unloading cod while we were on the dock in Þórshöfn, on the northeast coast of Iceland.

All the Lofoten islands are laid by cod-driers. Cod is dried in 2 pieces - body and head separately./ Celé Lofoty sú posiate sušiarňami na tresky. Treska sa suší v 2 kusoch - telo a hlava zvlášť.

The Highland Lighthouse is in North Truro, MA. It is also known as Cape Cod Light. It was commissioned by George Washington and was the 20th light station in the US in 1797.

My streak of fish origami models continue. Despite the references of the model being easy to figure out, this one is fairly lengthy in terms of precreasing, which is unusual for most of my models.
I don't know why but when I take pictures, the subject always ends up looking rather chubby. But at least it's somewhat recognizable.
Codia incrassata est une espèce endémique de Nouvelle-Calédonie qui donne le ton des forêts humides du nord de la Grande Terre, notamment dans le Nord-Est. Appartenant à la famille des Cunoniaceae, cet arbuste à petit arbre s’intègre naturellement aux paysages forestiers, parfois de façon très discrète, parfois plus marquée.
Codia incrassata se rencontre surtout en forêts denses humides et en lisières, mais peut aussi coloniser des crêtes exposées, des pentes rocheuses ou les abords de cours d’eau, de basse à assez haute altitude. Il occupe également des fourrés denses et, plus ponctuellement, des savanes à niaouli.
Cape Cod Windmill, also known as the Farris mill, is considered one of the oldest in America. It was originally built in 1633 on the north side of Cape Cod. It was moved several times around Cape Cod until it was gifted to Henry Ford from The Ford Dealers Association, and installed in Greenfield Village in 1936.

Today's story and sketch "by me" is the famous Massachusetts Cape Cod BC
Lighthouse Bistro, it is also check point #78 of the "EBRA" Blimp Race.
Overhead you see the Bearded Clam Bistro Race Entry #68 currently leading
the race. The BC Bistro recently won the triple D Clam Chowder Cook Off.
But BC is most famous for the Clamalicious Moon Pies that have been
made at this location for over a hundred years. The legendary Moon Pies
started by accident, when Maddoc Gofish, (seen piloting a B&R Pony X Glider).
Maddoc came to Earth while working on the "Cougar Intergalactic Pleasure
Cruiser", which caters to middle age Alien Female Divorces, or in some
cases, Cougars who were never successfully prosecuted after cashing in on a
life insurance policy, most in their early hundreds.
And that brings us back to the Beginning of this tale a time when Maddoc at
age 18 was the Cruisers Pool attendant, and just by luck meet Jawenna Kagler
who was actually on the run from a Lippo Triple indemnity Policy investigator
for a policy she had taken out on Daweeb her Husband, who died
possibly by accident, and that policy specified, that Jawenna the
beneficiary was entitled to receive triple the face amount of insurance,
if Daweeb was never found, which he wasn't, and as far as Maddoc knows,
he never will be, but that is a story for another time.
Jawenna insisted on staying on Earth when the Cruiser was in low orbit,
she actually talked Maddoc into jumping ship with her in an escape pod.
By chance they hit the ocean, drifted several weeks with only emergency
Moon Pies, and a few bottles of Tequila taken from her rooms mini bar.
Jawenna turns out was a great cook, in fact that was how she meet Daweeb
when she was cooking moon pies at the Disco Lizard Lounge. Daweeb was a
successful, but lonely 300 pound 4 foot Tort Attorney, the two fell in love
moved to the Swanky Beverly Crater on Lippo, and were happy until Daweeb
disappeared. Maddoc and Jawenna built the Bearded Clam Bistro for Galaxy
Tourists. Jawenna developed the Clam Moon Pies and Clam Chowder recipes
luckily before the Bounty Hunters came for her. Till next time taa ta Rod
Cod is the common name for genus Gadus, belonging to the family Gadidae, and is also used in the common name for various other fishes. Cod is a popular food with a mild flavor, low fat content and a dense, flaky white flesh. Cod livers are processed to make cod liver oil, an important source of vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). Larger cod caught during spawning are sometimes called skrei. Young Atlantic cod or haddock prepared in strips for cooking is called scrod.
The Atlantic cod, which can change color at certain water depths, has two distinct color phases: gray-green and reddish brown. Its average mass is 5–12 kilograms (11–26 lb), but specimens weighing up to 100 kilograms (220 lb) have been recorded. Cod feed on molluscs, crabs, starfish, worms, squid, and small fish. Some migrate to warm water in winter to spawn. A large female lays up to five million eggs in midocean, a very small number of which survive. Pacific or saltwater cod are also found around the coast of British Columbia, Canada and the Northwestern US coastal areas. These fish are three times the size of their eastern counterparts[citation needed] and are darker in color.
Pollock, and coalfish are often found on the same grounds as codfish in cool Atlantic waters. Pollock have shovel-shaped tails and pale lateral lines and grow to 1 metre (3.3 ft) and 15 kilograms (33 lb). Some grow to 2 metres (6.6 ft) in length.
Cod meat is moist and flaky when cooked and is white in color. In the United Kingdom, Atlantic cod is one of the most common ingredients in fish and chips, along with haddock and plaice. It is also frequently consumed in Portugal and Spain.
virtual traveling on Cape Cod...seeing all the cottages etc. knowing if someone gave one to me I couldn't maintain it...it's so great to know someone who can and visit them---which I loved doing for about 4 years..finally getting to see the "Cape"...I'd be surprised if anyone knows just where this is...going thru what town on the main street..?
