My family moved to this little wood framed cape cod in the fall of 1967. It started it's life as a tool shed in Washington, DC for federal buildings being constructed in the 1930/40's. When they were completed, it was moved to the country to be a summer home for the original owners, the Butterworths. Over time it grew and became a permanent home.
When we moved in, the house and property seemed magical to me. It was a place where: the stairs to the two attic bedrooms were reached through the bathroom; a metal plate in the basement floor, when lifted, revealed a cold water stream that sheltered a frog in the winter; the night air was filled with the song of a thousand "spring peepers"; tiny tree frogs that covered the outside of the house after an evening rain..........
The Cod and Lobster in Staithes sits right on the sea front and in 1953 the whole front washed away by the great storm which ravaged the east coast in that year.
There's nothing better than walking through these sand paths and discovering the beauty of the beach at the end......
Taken in front of the Chatham Bars Inn. There are several of these parked in the driveway there during the summer - maintained beautifully!

Sunset at Head of the Meadow Beach
Had a great vacation with my family this past week. Thought I would start my Cape Cod pics with the last one I took.
N. Truro, Cape Cod, MA
FOR SALE: $60 AUD
Please note that I put many hours into all my figures. I love to create them and don't simply do it for money. The parts for this figure alone probably add up to $30+. With a 10+ hour paint job on top of that.
Selling my custom figures helps me continue to create more.
OK everyone cue up Santo & Johnny's Sleepwalk and slip into your beach chair and take in the warm summer sun. Going over my old stuff I had tried to do this picture with my very old cheapo software and didn't like the way it came out but my latest software really enhanced this just fine. Taken towards the outer end of Cape Cod.
Race Point Lighthouse
Outer Cape Cod
Massachusetts
One of the best experiences of the trip. This is the very end of Cape Cod. Only accessible by a two and a half hour hike on the ocean beach or 4X4 trail through the dunes with a permit only. Tire deflation required and an air pump supplied at pavements end. So Joni and I hiked the beach. Photographed it until sunset. Just before sunset the light keeper that lives there came out and pointed to the lighthouse and asked if we wanted to see the sunset at the top. Of course we did. This older gentleman looked just like what you think a lightkeeper would look like. It was a thrill to be the only ones in on that day to watch the sun sink below the ocean at the tip of Cape Cod. After that it started getting dark. There are no lights out there and we started to hike through difficult sand dunes for a couple of hours. Luckily a jacked up 70's Bronco without a cab came by and offered a ride. A Ukrainian man and his local girlfriend. Great experience and sit aved us a lot of hard walking. We still arrived at our car at 10:00.
