I may have been at sea, but I was not a Seaman. Here I am on board a Cod as we flew out to the carrier. Yes, I'm looking dumb on purpose. USS Carl Vinson.
Our coach tour of the island stopped at Câmara de Lobos for enough time for us to sample the local drinks Poncha and Nikita, and wander around the harbourside. This is the method used to dry cod in the production of dried salt cod.
Apparently this cod is supposed to wiggle its tail when you put money into its mouth. I can't see it actually happening though since it appears to be solid.
