USC was built in the tradition of place like Saint Tropez, Ibiza or the Hamptons, which started as hideaways for the urban intellectuals and Bohemia in the 1960's, followed by new rich, socialites and tycoons in the 70's and 80's creating a vibrant mix of people and subculture.
Made a quick stop earlier at Lighthouse Hill to look at the North Cliffs and the pretty sea thrift. I leave in a couple of days and not sure if I'll have time to get back before Wednesday. Oh and the lighthouse is way off in the distance to the left :)
View from the cliff walk at Ballybunnion with Co. Clare in the distance. Fulmar, Black Guillemots & Razorbills nest on the rocky ledges & Chough are frequently seen feeding in the short grass.
A pod of around 100 Bottlenose Dolphins inhabit the ocean around these cliffs & the Shannon estuary off to the right. I saw a 4 or 5 dolphins quite close into the beach when I was there on Sunday.
From near the top of the highest point of the Trælanípa cliffs you can see that the ocean has continuously attacked weak points of the rock at the waterline and created what appears to be some caves. For a perspective of the height of the cliffs, there are people near the cliff edge just left of center in the photo. The village of Miðvágur can be seen at the far left and is the starting point for the hike to Trælanípa. The clouds can seem like an ever present companion while in the Faroes.

You may not sea it directly but the difference in height in this landscape is about 80 m. This are the cliffs of Normandy seen from above. And yes, the tide is low.
I found the cliff walk quite scary -- and I'm not usually afraid of heights. But I seem to be getting more so as I get older. I did it anyway! And the views were worth it.
This is at First in Switzerland, above the town of Grindelwald. The peaks across the valley are the Wetterhorn, 3692 m (12,113 ft), and the Schreckhorn, 4,078 m (13,379 ft); the glacier between is the Upper Grindelwald Glacier.
The headland at Cwm Nash, a great place with nesting fulmars, coughs raven and peregrine. Steam appeared to be rising from the cliff top, due to the cloud formation.
An RSPB reserve, Bempton Cliffs, on the Yorkshire Coast attracts half a million seabirds each year to raise their chicks. Other wildlife calls the reserve home too.
An Rugged Red Cliffs, Prince Edward Island, Canada, featuring striking red sandstone cliffs and evergreen trees meeting the calm waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence under a vivid blue sky. This landscape showcases the island’s unique geological and natural beauty.

A view from the cliff top coastal path on a beautiful summer day. The Lizard Lifeboat Station at Kilcobben Cove can just be glimpsed in the distance, with the flat headland of Bass Point behind, Taken on our first holiday on The Lizard back in the summer of 2004. We have been going back to The Lizard every year since!
