NS 304 sported probably the cleanest lashup I've ever seen, as in on par with excursions level of clean. A brand new Norfolk Southern GP59ECO leads a equally new road slug and an SD40-2 over the Miami River bridge outside Dayton, OH, bound for Reed Yard in Middletown, OH. The engineer of 304 placed the ol' red, white and blue on the front railing. Way cool!
A bit of two-fer with 2 B727s side by side at Kemble. Not the cleanest photo but its not every day that you see a 727.
One of the cleanest 993's out there. Looks amazing!

On last month's flight to Colorado I had a window seat on the right side of the plane, so as we went over southern Washington I had a nice view of Mt Adams and Mt Hood. Was able to barely make out Mt Jefferson (further south) with my eyes, but it didn't show up in the photo. Not the cleanest image, as the window wasn't exactly spotless!

I've been in South Sardinia for the past three summers, but this year was the first time I went to Cagliari, capital of region.
I enjoyed the ancient part of town, locally called "Casteddu" (ie "castle"). Through its old streets I found a lot of dishes full of food...for a lot of alley cats. This one was my favourite: he reminded me of an old lion, full of scars but still beautiful. Guess what? I spent a lot of time cuddling him, despite he wasn't the cleanest cat I've ever seen. But he was too sweet to care about!
Have a great day

Great Spotted Woodpecker / dendrocopos major. Calke Park, Derbyshire. 30/11/16.
I was privileged to have two GSW's interacting with each other close to where I was concealed in Calke Park. They showed up a couple of times landing within six feet of me. I don't know if they were a pair or whether one was a parent bird who was still being pestered by a youngster born in the Spring.
The bird shown was the neatest and cleanest of the two and lacked a red nape spot. This denotes it as a female. Whenever there was an altercation, it was she who backed down and flew off a short distance with lots of loud calling.

At 4000 meters in a mountanous desert you really must plan your housing for permanent living. Winters can get down to -50C, add ferocious winds and snowfalls to super dry summers, and you get a house like this.
Despite the hard living the plus side is that they have the cleanest air and the clearest skies, fresh fish from the lakes, no violence, corruption or greed. You simply would not survive here with the latter.

Oh, such raw, simple, starkly wild splendour.
Fern and bracken.
Succulent shrubs and bushes.
Rhododendron.
Spruce forest.
Rocky headlands.
Brilliant white shell-sand beaches of Kentra Bay,
Camas an Lighe and Cul na Croise-the singing sands.
Sand dunes blown into mounds in the forest a hundred feet high.
Mountains like Sgurr Dhomhuill Mor and beyond that, Rhois-Bheinn, shrouded in morning cloud, above the luscious, verdant slopes and channels of Loch Moidart.
Unspoiled.
Majestic.
Pristine.

Peace, tranquillity, solitude.
A sense of oneness with this staggeringly beautiful, natural world.

This shot was the perfect case of being at the right place at the right time. I happened to have a window seat looking the right way with the cleanest airplane window I have ever seen, and I had my camera on me, shooting away at the incredible clouds that we were flying past.

Thanks all for the comments and interest, I do appreciate it!!

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Founded in 1826 as Bytown, and incorporated in 1855 with its current name, it has been rated one of the cleanest cities in the world. Ottawa was originally settled by people of Irish and French Canadian origin, but soon grew to be multicultural. The architecture of the city is quite attractive, and is inspired by European cities.

Königssee lies just a couple of miles south of the town of Berchtesgaden and is Germany's deepest and cleanest lake
This was probably the cleanest Metro I've ever seen outside a show, it was just spotless! This was a special edition Nightfire model, I believe one of the last of the line. I love those alloys. Even the black bumpers which are notorious for fading were back, rather than the usual grey. This could easily have walked out of 1994. It only has a small engine, despite sporting alloys. I hope this one will last many years longer, what a beauty!
"Clean
The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen
Now that I'm clean
You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean"

I took my Ha data and added it together with my old RGB from my 400D here , not the best RGB data but it seemed to work ok.
I combined the data using the Starizona #2 method and then tweaked it a little but I dont think this was the best way and since the RGB data isnt the cleanest it brought in a bit of noise and the bloated stars gave some halos.
If I get a chance this season ill shoot some proper RGB data but who knows with this weather.

Once again I returned to U.S. Auctions, a private auction company, to see what Refuse Trucks will be auctioned off. I knew several ASL’s and a mini Amrep MSL, would be at the auction. I was looking forward to seeing a mini Amrep MSL, which looked great and was in good shape. This auction was pure ESD trucks, (12) 2007 Amrep ASL’s and (1) mini Amrep Octo MSL. Unfortunately the ESD ASL’s were not in great shape, and all of them sold for under $6,500 each. As you can see in the pictures and video, the trucks are covered in rust (including the inside of the hopper) and some had missing arms. What surprised me was that some of the trucks were completely full of Green Waste and others had bags of trash in the body and dangling from the arm. I believe these trucks would be in better condition if they were washed down regularly like Waste Management of El Cajon, who has some of the cleanest trucks, some of which are almost twice as old as these ESD trucks.
I had a great time at the auction, thank you U.S. Auctions!

An hour or so spent with the Splash Art kit. Red acrylic paint drop on the perspex then blue paint dropped from the kit.
Not as sharp as it should be but something started to play up and the kit wouldn't trigger the flash. So this was the cleanest of the bunch.

Owl sighting from our backyard last night. Not the cleanest shot, as I had to hustle for my camera. He sat there long enough for me to fire off a couple shots. It was very dark.

Lake Idro is an Italian pearlpine lake of glacial origin situated largely within the Province of Lombardy. At 368 m above sea level it is the highest of the Lombard lakes. The lake is fed principally by the waters of the river Chiese. The surface area of the lake is 11.4km and its maximum depth of 122 meters. The lake is situated between its bigger brothers Lake Garda and Lake Como but is much more intimate. Lake Idro has the purest water. Visitors to the area will find beautiful wooded mountains surrounding the lake as well as a shoreline that stretches 24 kilometers. Idro is a small yet superbly unique lake, a patch of blue in the green of the woods and meadows that slope gently down to the water. This stretch of water has long been famed as a surfers and sailors paradise due to its constant winds and the lack of large motor-boats - only engines up to 10 hp are allowed. Lake Idro is the favorite destination of many fishermen as it is teeming with fish, and the joy of bathers because the temperature is mild and there is easy access to the beach.
Lake Idro is about 11 km long and lies in the west of Lake Garda and Lake Ledro and in the east of Lake Iseo. Lake Idro counts to the cleanest lakes in north Italy. It is fantastic to bath in Lake Idro. During the main season Lake Idro reaches temperatures around 24°C, which leads to a wonderful bathing experience in addition to the warm air temperatures.

Here's an artsy-fartsy shot of the legendary Lafayette coal train power, the cleanest diesels on the entire Rock Island system. So clean, mainly because they were kept under the loving care of the shop forces at Silvas, where they were based. The power, usually a pair of GP9s with a pair of F7Bs sandwiched between them, were the muscle for coal trains that operated from Illinois to a power plant in Iowa. At times, such as the time here, when the power plant was down for maintenance or some other reason, they were sent out on regular freight assignments. We see them here, or kind of see them in spite of the foliage, approaching the Rock's yard in Blue Island back on October 1, 1975. Thanks to Will Rasmussen for the info!

A watery oasis in the desert, the Devil's River cuts a thin ribbon of green through southwest Texas before meeting up with the Rio Grande a few dozen miles to the south. In the 1840's a rough trail was forged between present-day Comstock and Ozona for prospectors heading west, and it quickly earned the name of Dead Man's Pass. It was such a hazardous route that the US government established Camp Hudson to protect travelers from Indian raids - the military post was located on the bluffs overlooking the Devil's River about a mile to the south. However, travel over Dead Man's Pass remained dangerous through the 1880's - this small corner of the state was one of the last to be 'tamed'. This winding trail later became the Comstock-Ozona Stage Road, and then later still Texas Highway 163. The highway crosses the Devil's River at several points, Baker's Crossing is the most southerly one. Due to its isolation, the Devil's River remains the most pristine of Texas rivers, barely touched by civilization. At four hours west of San Antonio, you really have to go out of your way to reach this spot - yet there are still a handful of campers, fishermen and kayakers who travel out to the uncrowded waters.
