Lac d'Annecy, Haute-Savoie, France.

The Lac d'Annecy is a lake in Haute-Savoie, in eastern France. It is famous for being one of the cleanest lakes in the world. It is also the second largest lake in France after Lake Bourget, except for the French part of Lake Geneva.

The lake was formed 18,000 years ago, during the melting of the great alpine glaciers.

It is fed by several small rivers, born in the nearby mountains (Ire, Eau morte, Laudon, Bornette and Biolon), and by a powerful underwater source, the Boubioz, which rises at a depth of 82 m. It is surrounded: to the east by the Bornes massif; to the west, by the massif of the Bauges; to the north, by the agglomeration of Annecy; and to the south, through a wide valley.

The lake expels its excess water into the Thiou river and the Vassé canal, which join and feed the Fier river, 1500 m north of Annecy, which eventually joins the Rhone river.

It is a very attractive tourist place, known for its nautical activities.

Surrounded by towering rock cliffs, the lake - emerald green and silent - is set in one of the most impressive landscapes in Germany. It ist perhaps for this reason that so many visitors com to Königssee year after year. This narrow, fjord- like lake is 8 km long (5 miles), up to 1,2 km wide (3/4 mile) and lies 602 meters (2000 ft) above sea level. With a maximum depth of 192 meters (650 ft), Lake Königssee retains its cold temperature even during the hottest time of the year. It is actually the deepest and, thanks to environmental protection, the cleanest lake in Germany.

Annecy Lake is a glacier lake in France in the Savoy Alps.

It is the second largest lake in France, and thanks to strict environmental protection, it is known as one of the cleanest in Europe.

The lake was formed around 18,000 years ago when an alpine glacier passed. It is fed by many small rivers flowing from the surrounding mountains and by a powerful underwater spring located 80 m deep.

Despite the alpine location, the lake rarely freezes, among others due to the above-mentioned. underwater source.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready to put 2021 behind us. Tough year and it will be an easy one to forget.

That being said, I have plenty to be thankful for and for all I do have I am grateful. To all my flickr friends and contacts, new and old, I appriciate your support this past year and for that I am very thankful. WRT the world at large, together we can wish for the end of COVID being the dominant headline in the news, peace, health and prosperity for 2022. It just has to be a better year.

Happy New Year

Just to be clear, this is a real shot, made from a single image with a 0.6s exposure and a tad bit of camera movement shot with the Meyer Optik 50mm f/1.8 Oreston shot wide open. The Oreston is perfect for a theme like this as it produces the cleanest/defined bokeh of all my lenses. I hope this abstract brings a bit of a smile to welcome in 2022!!!

Lake Königssee (or Königsee) lies just a couple of miles south of the town of Berchtesgaden and is Germany's deepest and cleanest lake.

About two-thirds of the way out, roughly 30 minutes by boat (there are no roads here), is the church of Sankt Bartholomä. Founded in 1134, the church is picture perfect with its red onion domed roof by the edge of Königsee with rugged Alps providing a stunning backdrop.

so far.. this is the cleanest state of the river :)

These Bull Elk (wapiti) were grazing hillside and I assume they must be use to humans like the Moutain Sheep in the area or they would have fled our appearance. Spotted around the back trails of Custer Park/Black Hills of South Dakota.

I believe they are the Rocky Mountain Type.

This is the cleanest summer shots I have ever taken of them.

Years ago when coming out of a fly-fishing adventure where we could hear the Elk bugling in the morning - a herd of them number close to 100 ran through the woods about 30 yards in front of us - how they never caught those antlers on the trees I'll never know - extremely graceful!

Also known as the “Blue Lake”, Lake Annecy (French: Lac d'Annecy), at the heart of the Savoy Alps, takes pride in being one of the cleanest and purest lakes in the world because of strict environmental regulations introduced in the 1960s.

It is the third largest lake in France, after the Lac du Bourget and Lac de Grand-Lieu, if the French part of Lake Geneva (which is also partly in Switzerland) is excluded.

Lake Annecy was formed 18,000 years ago, when large alpine glaciers melted. It owes its reputation to its extraordinary location, which has been the inspiration of many artists. The impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), inspired by the light that bathes the site and is reflected in the turquoise water, immortalised the lake with his renowned oil painting, Le Lac bleu (the Blue Lake) in 1896.

The Macro Mondays theme for today, 1/31, is currency - real or pretend. I am so literal! Am fairly certain this will be my posting for today— it’s probably the best macro although certainly not the cleanest!!

CRATER LAKE IN OREGON IS THE DEEPEST LAKE IN THE U.S. @ 1949FT.

IT IS FED ONLY BY SNOW AND RAIN MAKING IT THE CLEANEST AND PUREST LARGE BODY OF WATER IN THE WORLD.

I see & hear Bullfinches on most days, but getting a clean shot of one is always tricky, in my experience. I snatched this shot just as this handsome chap broke cover & he was gone again in an instant.

Not the cleanest shot, but I'm pleased to have caught him.

Stour valley, Suffolk - March 2018.

[Please enlarge and look around the landscape. It will make you homesick even if you've never been here before.]

At Marrawah on Tasmania's north west coast we come across the richest farmland in the country. The green you see here is exactly as it appears. The annual average rainfall in this part of the world is 1092.2 mm.

It is also said that Cape Grim in the top centre of this landscape has the cleanest measured air in the world. The winds that blow across the southern ocean have travelled over no landfall for over 16,000 kms. It is fresh, and the rainwater here is the cleanest imaginable. www.capegrim.com.au/

It's no wonder that Cape Grim Beef is also sought after by restaurants all over the world looking for grass fed and unstressed beef cattle. www.capegrimbeef.com.au/

Bullfinch numbers must be reasonably healthy in our local area, as it's rare for me not to see/hear one, when I'm out with the dog. Seeing them is one thing, but photographing them is a very different proposition, in my experience. Most of my recent attempts have resulted in a pink blur, or a flash of white rump, as they disappear into the distance. I was luckier here though with this handsome chap.

This isn't the cleanest of shots, as he was sitting in 'deep twiggage', but I managed to find a line of sight & bag a shot.

I had a great encounter with this stunning dragonfly on the local moors. It was very confiding, even perching on my back and shoulder on a couple of occasions. This was the cleanest shot I could get of it on a natural perch!

Voidomatis (Greek: Βοϊδομάτης) is a river in the Ioannina regional unit in northwestern Greece, and is a tributary of the Aoös river. The main current sources are located under the village of Vikos. Along its path it converges with other water currents originating from the banks of Tymfi or the Vikos Gorge it ends close to Konitsa. The river has a total length of 15 kilometers. The name Voidomatis,(meaning: the eye of the ox), derives from the fact that oxen have clear blue eyes, like the waters of this river. Also, there is the Slavic etymology: Bode–Mat which means "good water".

Voidomatis has been characterized as one of the cleanest rivers in Europe as it does not face any environmental issues. It crosses one of the most beautiful natural locations of Greece and has been part of the Vikos–Aoös National Park since 1973. The river is spanned by a number of stone bridges, the most famous being the Kledonas Bridge. The river is known for water sports such as rafting and kayaking.

Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. It is located in southwestern Iceland, on the southern shore of Faxaflói bay. Its latitude is 64°08' N, making it the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign state.

With a population of around 131,136 (and 233,034 in the Capital Region), it is the centre of Iceland's cultural, economic, and governmental activity, and is a popular tourist destination.

Reykjavík is believed to be the location of the first permanent settlement in Iceland, which, according to Landnámabók, was established by Ingólfr Arnarson in 874 CE. Until the 18th century, there was no urban development in the city location. The city was officially founded in 1786 as a trading town and grew steadily over the following decades, as it transformed into a regional and later national centre of commerce, population, and governmental activities. It is among the cleanest, greenest, and safest cities in the world.

For the last few weeks, the swallows I've seen flying around the lakes have been the violet green swallows, but yesterday at Koll, I saw some tree swallows mixed in with the violet greens. It was pretty gloomy, so not the cleanest shots, but just happy to see them!

Now that the climb over Rich Mountain is behind it, the train is quickly approaching Heavener, where the locomotives will be fueled and a new crew will take over for the next leg of the trip to Pittsburg, Kansas.

Clean

The cleanest I’ve been

An end to the tears

And the in-between years

And the troubles I’ve seen

Now that I’m clean

You know what I mean

I’ve broken my fall

Put an end to it all

I’ve changed my routine

Now I’m clean

I don’t understand

What destiny’s planned

I’m starting to grasp

What is in my own hands

I don’t claim to know

Where my holiness goes

I just know that I like

What is starting to show

Sometimes

Clean…

As years go by

All the feelings inside

Twist and they turn

As they ride with the tide

I don’t advise

And I don’t criticise

I just know what I like

With my own eyes

Sometimes

Clean…

Sometimes

We took a short trip to Palmyra Cove Nature Park. Got to say, the nicest, cleanest well maintained park I've been to. Very wide flat paths. Definitely a 5 star park. This guy put on a great show (just sat there) for about 5 minutes and it was gone.

The Ullu Muruju River is located in the Teberdin National Park and is the cleanest on its territory. The reason for the purity and useful properties of the river is the rocks through which it passes. These rocks have silver impurities and silver is one of the best water purifiers. In addition, this river is satisfied with the stormy and along the course it beats against many rapids, saturated with oxygen, the content of which makes it useful.

The length of the river is 14 km.
