Happy Christmas from Llwyngwril Systems.

I've had a hectic start to the ski season but will get back to Lego when things calm down in January (unless it snows...)

Second entry to Nerdvember.

Figured I'd combine two of my favourite things coming out of the 80s, classic space and star wars.

Han Solo slaughters a squad of Stormtroopers before enjoying a drink at Space Cantina LL928.

Before the colonisation of the Ice Planet, the Classic Space spacemen experimented with various designs for moving around on snow. The Ski Walker was gyroscopically balanced and carried a crew of two. Each wheel was made of 8 legs, which could be folded out for ease of maintenance.

A bit inspired by set 6952 of course. But bug-ified ^^

Despite their track record, Llwynwgwril Systems Vehicle Design Department were asked to design a 4x4 rover, with the inevitable result. This rover was a unicycle, with a rotating tripod of casters as stabilisers.

Hi

This is fun heavy old-school build from only old (30-40y) bricks (and digital).

I uploaded build instructions on my Rebrickable (links are in my profile).

The planet of Torus 1.5 was famous throughout the galactic disc for this strange structure. It appeared to defy gravity. Visitors came from far and wide to view and study the structure and made of the majority of the planet's economy.

Was the structure the work of a canny entrepreneur with a talent for structural engineering or an ancient alien artefact? Nobody knew...

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

This a Lego tensegrity structure, inspired by Steve Mould's short video, over on YouTube. The video reminded me of a structure I built when tensegrity was a short-lived Lego fashion. Technically its predecessor was a series of stacked pendula.

There are more images on Instagram.

It's a lonely job surveying rocks out on the Galactic Fringe...

Futuron* was a peaceful and friendly population.

Their ground vehicles and spacecrafts were designed to explore new planets and new dimensions indeed.

But something is changing: a black menace is coming from the deep space, its name is Blacktron.

The black men want to attack the Futuron people probably to steal the sought after and valued Monorail.

To prevent the Blacktron attack a new armored vehicle is ready to fire: the "White Tiger".

This medium-class tank features 2 middle-range surface-to-air guns, a rotating turret and a crew of three (the commander, the driver and the gunner).

The nick name is a tribute to the invincible german "White Tiger" from WWII.

Will the "Tiger" be able to destroy the black menace?

Above the "Tiger" at the maintenance bay where Classic Space men are fixing and refueling it before a mission.

On the right close to the door the Futuron crew.

The forklift is based on Alban Nanty one.

*Futuron was a subtheme of LEGO Space released between 1987 and 1990 to replace Classic Space series.

My first attempt at a spaceship! I had a lot of space sets as a child and I love the Neo Classic Space genre attempting to modernise these sets. My collection probably had more of the grey/trans-green style than the classic blue/trans-yellow, so I figured this was a good place to start. I'll probably modify this MOC in the coming weeks to the blue/trans-yellow scheme for some additional variety!

Eurobricks thread here

I can't be the only one who needed to see the XL-15 done in the classic space livery!

Minor changes were made to include RCS thrusters, nose antenna, and trans yellow cargo cover.

Some wedges and slopes are not available in blue, which, honestly, is just something TLG needs to get done.

Finally! Circuit boards! I'll be using these in MOCs quite a bit.

While less efficient and reliable than rovers and walkers, Hover Scooters were ideal for rougher terrain, and were invaluable for making short, quick trips between the isolated outposts and surface stations that were scattered amongst the vast plains and vistas of foreign worlds.

Influenced by set 6801, one of the loveliest early Space sets.

Have been very productive this last month what with being trapped indoors, and having most of my work cancelled. The weather has been glorious though, so while I wait for an overcast day to photograph my new models I thought I would post an older one that never made it!

I'm a big fan of vertically-oriented ships, and this one I'm particularly pleased with how it turned out, especially with the semi-retractable landing gear.

Somehow the shape puts me in mind of a fish of some kind, and being a fan also of prehistoric life (even if I don't build it all that much) I'm calling this the LL313 Coelacanth

Starfleet Voyager, in the style of the new Galaxy Explorer set! As soon as I saw the set reveal, I had the sudden urge to do this. The technique Lego uses for the wings is very interesting, I'll definitely be using it more in the future for other builds!

Just before the end of Febrovery

It's Neo-Classic Space time! This, is the "Galaxy Tzar"

When asked to make a modular armed exploration craft, General Galaxy turned to what many consider to be the greatest multi-role modular spacecraft of all time... The "Galaxy Commander".

Thirty years later, when Earth Alliance command asked for an new starship to fill the role originally defined by the Galaxy Commander, General Galaxy looked back upon it's original design and after two years of development, released the Galaxy Tzar.

Pew, pew!

So I finally got my hands on an old X-pod and started playing around with it. Finally decided to make...a pod! Why? Because pods are awesome, haha!

Got some other plans involving this wonderful legopiece but that will have to wait a little while.

After much prevaricating I have dipped my toe into the maelstrom that is Lego Ideas.

If you think it would make a nice set please consider following this link and voting;

Thank you :)

Look out for the classic space logo on the torso! Special thanks to Ann and Andy at Minifig for Life for their excellent custom printing.

And thanks to Fly and Mark for help with photography and for generally being great guys.

By the way, I've just realized that this is the only photo I've ever taken of the exterior of Outpost Alpha... 😉

Benny and Mr.Robot are coming to "Mattoncini all'ombra del Torrazzo"... I can't event imagine what they're gonna do!! :D

A popular and fun way to travel across the floors of giant starship hangars or along the corridors of SHIPs.

This little model was featured in the May 2019 edition of "Blocks" magazine :D

The LL-596 Gungnir interceptor is designed to chase down and destroy priority targets. It does this with its heavy pulse cannon. For defense against other fighters, the Gungnir is also armed with two small turrets, sixteen missile tubes, and electronic countermeasures.

„LIZARD“ XVS-10 Light Freighter

Because some of you have asked for detailed pictures of the ship.

The color scheme is inspired by the current City Space theme. The ship is called „ The LIZARD“ XVS-10 and is a light freighter.

The LIZARD is the first ship I build for my CS-NextGen Team (Classic Space - The Next Generation).

From some time I've been thinking about small tracked vehicles. But I did not have proper link treads ;) I also had no idea what wheels could fit them...

The PL 314 is a short range inter system transport ship and is capable of carrying all types of cargo. It doesn't carry always carry contraband, but when it does, it prefers Dos Equis.

In my base i needed someone who moves the barrels from a sector to another, a vehicle that can not miss in a base.

Playing with another Classic Space colour scheme and some engine designs.

There is this hashtag #SpaceCowboySaturday going on, I find it amusing. Silly fun, I like it.

I’ve wanted to play along for some time but I didn’t have a Lego cowboy hat. Then, a few weeks ago just before the Corona lockdowns, as I walked by our local Lego supplier here in Helsinki and I remembered my dilemma with the cowboy hat. I popped in and asked whether they had any. Turns out no, but the owner went in the back to check his personal stash and, ta-daa, it turned out there was one white hat. He sold it to me.

So, here is my space cowboy for today’s round, white hat and all. He’s on a planet with lots of fireflies. They put up a very pretty show in the evenings.

Have a great weekend!

Space Drill.

My first attempt at building a vehicle for #febrovery.

Next year will be better :)
