Welcome to Planet Frost

Our tour continues...

As you probably already know, we are lucky to have a GREY:Tron robot manufacturing facility here on Planet Frost. Most of the robots being built and exported to this sector of the Galaxy are built right here. One of the things that sets GREY:Tron apart from other robot and droid corporations is the extensive robot training program. Each robot is taught not just through programming, but real-world experience before being sold and shipped to its new owner. Here we see a GREY:Tron educational operative taking some newly built robots on a field trip to learn about local geology.

Febrovery 2025 - 5

The Classic Space Bubble Quad was a fast and fun way to travel across the moon. Its big tyres and independent suspension could easily cope with the deepest craters or roughest moon rocks. The bubble canopy afforded unrivalled visibility, though nobody ever worked out where the door was...

See all of the photos and a video in this album.

Just your regular, run-of-the-mill NCS battle mecha. I don't often use brick shooters in my designs since my son stopped being obsessed with the things, but I still enjoy the looks of the old rotary stud shooters, especially in mechs.

The Llwyngwril Systems' Tumbler was an almost perfect solution to back-flips, front-flips and staircases (take note Daleks!). Sadly it was still not proof against angry aliens from Pluto trying to push you over sideways.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

I've checked and there's enough clearance for the central part to spin all around. It'll be interesting to build a real one and see how it rolls down a staircase!

Used a moto piece and the new reverse antistud clips to make a new quad. Now to find some lunar-sheep to round up.

Mecabricks version here if you want to see more (it's very black and hard to see) or reverse engineer anything.

A Legendary classic!

These little blocks of plastic

And created something magic

That sparked an eager generation

Since 'seventy-eight to play in space

I just remembered I had acquired most of the parts to build my own 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport gradually over time. I think I bought some of those tyres earlier this year for FebROVERy with building this in mind for later on and forgot about them until yesterday. Still missing a few bits but my build room is now 50% more classical space.

A compact, yet spacious load carrier, generally used in spaceport and large factories.

The idea of this vehicle made me smile because it looks as though it should be possible to stretch it out, like a spring.

Febrovery is coming! Have you been to the wheel shop yet? Remember wheels are like cowbell: you always need more.

Meet Nando Pastryssian (the former occupant of Outpost Alpha) and his K3 mechanoid, K3-33.

And yes! Of course Benny won Outpost Alpha playing cards against him...

Although this was a free build, the finished model bears some resemblance to 6896 Celestial Forager.

Made for the New Elementary spacer's parts challenge, and like some of my other MOC's this week, it utilises the Nexo Sheilds and Nexo robot torso parts for suspended front and dual rear axles.

Stuck on a swampy or boggy planet with the standard tricycle? Add Llwyngwril Systems' low ground pressure adapters!

Attach an extra 12 wheels to your tricycle for enhanced floating and traction. Each unit comes with additional an comms antenna and enhanced safety lighting. The units can be steered individually, for extra manoeuvrability.

A ship made to carry the small rover I made for FebRovery

Possibly the only vehicle where every colour of spaceman could get a seat.

Here is a baby replica of the latest iteration of the LEGO Galaxy Explorer set 10497. It still has the main play features of the original set just down sized. Pop off canopy, steering wheels, opening rear end with boarding ramp, airlock sliding door and last but not least ride on booster engines!

This was a blast to build. And was inspired by the builds @troublesbricking made while I was travelling Europe. While on holiday I managed to track down this squad of space babies so that when I got as soon as I got back from holiday I could get into building this moc.

Many thanks to Miki Knight for the Japanese sweets and the minifig she sent to me. Much appreciated!

There are many historical points of interest to see here on Planet Frost as well. These two have been hanging around for ages. There used to be a large Futuron research outpost here, but it has been mostly decommissioned. Almost all of the Futuron staff has been retired or sent to further reaches of the galaxy. Still, it is nice to have a reminder of things of the past, even as technology swiftly moves forward.

Speaking of historical interest...

Better late than never :)

A tanker form the ubiquitous Octan Corporation eases away from the side of a massive refinery on the planet Heulog IV. These barges were used to transfer fuel to super-tanker starships that could carry cargoes across the galactic disc.

A two-seat transporter, with 12 tyres, giving a low pressure footprint. This machine was ideal for swampy planets or planets covered in deserts. The vehicle also performed well on planets covered in desserts, as its balloon tyres coped well with surfaces such as whipped cream, custard or blancmange.

Well folks, our tour is nearing its conclusion, I hope you-- oh wait, look, there is an M-Tron scout team, no doubt looking for deposits of Magnetonium. It seems to be growing more and more scarce all throughout the galaxy. I wonder what will become of the M-Tron corporation if all the Magnetonium runs out?

Now here is another interesting sight! The honorable delegation from the planet Brainyax has been visiting Planet Frost. The ambassador and his wife can often be seen roving about in their luxurious rover, enjoying all that our fine planet has to offer. It looks like the ambassador's wife is taking one of their adorable pet thinkies out to "sniff" the flowers.

More Capacious All Terrain Vehicling.

Ah... the ever-green 6297 - now with LWB & Articulation!

[I built the Container based on a guide - can't remember who did it - if it was you let me know and I'll give you your deserved credit for such an ace container!]

Double-caddy tea-transporter.

Dioptase crystals, essential for producing green tinted windscreen canopies, were rare in large quantities, except on planets where Blacktron had their outposts. Dioptase was deposited in vast fields as a waste product of their huge manufacturing plants. Dioptase Moths had incredible cloaking capabilities, and were one means of collecting large quantities of the crystals in hostile territories.

Trans-green has some of the nicest parts available in it, so this build just came together from a desire to use some of them. Gradually the moth shape sort of emerged!

The venerable LL-928 Galaxy Explorer class of spaceships, known throughout the Federation as the workhorses of the fleet. For over 40 years now Galaxy Explorers have traveled to distant stars, explored strange new worlds and have been the backbone of deep space exploration.

While not as sleek or technologically advanced as some modern crafts, the LL-928 series was built to last and has a legacy to prove it. This is in no small part due to the rigorous and thorough maintenance schedule the ships go through.

Within Arcturus Outpost’s hanger bay (home to Nova Team) Commander Hank Hawkins along with first mate, Janice Jenson go over the maintenance schedule for the outpost’s LL-928 nicknamed “Ole Lady” while crews bustle around the legendary ship.

Another rover from the planet of Fflint, whose sharp, stony surface meant that a spare tyre was carried by all vehicles.

What? A woman? On that spaceship? With a pink spacesuit? That's totally unexpected... Benny is not ready for this! He couldn't even speak... What next?
