Possibly my favourite of the later Classic Space ground vehicles, the 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport perfectly combines the practical near-future explorer vibe of the very first generation of Space sets with the (mostly) more advanced aesthetic sensibilities of the later sets.

I just *had* to try an updated version.

Numerous other people have built excellent updates of this great set, many of which are far superior to mine, but I'm pleased with my efforts regardless.

The pinnacle of Federation design, The LL-928 Galaxy Explorer lasted generations longer than virtually any other craft. Its combination of speed, power, and adaptability made it not just a perennial favourite amongst Federation pilots, but also a symbol of the Federation's mission as a whole.

Proudly presenting instructions for a studless Galaxy Explorer which you can build at home. Even if you don't buy them, would be a huge hlep to me if you checked them out, and gave them a like and comment. Designed to fit in with my design for the LL-925, it uses 99%+ modern parts, all of them common, so this should be as painless and cheap to put together as possible! It's a light bley version of my LL-929, which is itself an homage to Peter Reid's evergreen LL-497, and has 1212 parts in total. It's *very* sturdy and swooshable!

I built in a lot of play features - working landing gear, a rover which can be contained in the back, swivelling rear doors like the original, and also the original a rear folding hatch, and roof which hinges up.

Patrol 929 spotted something on the surface 3 clicks north from the starbase. The scouts sent out to examine found a strange, cylindrical machine that was unresponsive and seemingly lifeless. However upon closer inspection they manage to scan a vital sign from the core of the towering metal monster.

What it looked like honey is just a piece of this Classic Space logo... this is going to be the new roof of Benny's space station! And it's going to be lighted from below! Stay tuned!

My new ship and the old one finally together!

The Laser Thrust is also on Lego Ideas, if you want you can head over there and support!

An old Blacktron ship piloted by ruthless mercenaries. Any resemblance to a certain ship from a new hit TV series is " purely coincidental "...

It's on Lego Ideas, if you have time and wanna help me, you can support me there

Sometimes I take an idea and run with it--following in the footsteps of my last little neo classic space fighter, this tiny little ship again uses Bionicle feet as the sides of the hull. It feels a little silly calling a build this small a heavy fighter. However, if I were to scale this up to minifig scale, it would actually be quite large. It earned the name "Nova Class" because it was constantly exploding as I was building.

Also on Instagram.

Continuing the series. :)

Deadline this Sunday for my classic space build challenge www.flickr.com/photos/guidomartinbrandis/50597687812/

Element # 4360. Minifig Accessory Camera with Side Sight. Approximately 20 studs x 7 studs.

Ok folks I was busy last year, so hears my 2020 Febrovery build. I know its very 20th Century in looks, but thats just how it turned out. Theres a little folding lift gate at the rear and a small cargo space. As always folks, your comments are most welcomed.

A zoomed-out look at the S.P.I.D.E.R. Drone on the Lunar landscape :) Last pic for now. Features video on YouTube: youtu.be/Q3HC0IzGPfc

Work-in-progress shots, and more on my Instagram @LEGO_stud as well. Full description below <3 :

The Solar-Powered Interstellar Drone for Extraterrestrial Research (S.P.I.D.E.R.) is finally completed at the 'Moonbase Celebration 50'.

With onboard intelligence, a formidable assortment of tools, and unlimited renewable power, this endlessly useful companion is sometimes referred to as 'GRAMPS' - Giant Robotic Assistant & Mobile Power Station (especially by arachnophobic astronauts).

Future missions will be accompanied by these units, to aid in planetoid habitability investigation and geo/bio research. Manipulator arms, coupled with highly advanced sensors allow this drone to examine samples, move debris, haul equipment, and even carry out rescue operations for astronauts in danger.

Fully capable of traversing uneven terrain, and repelling into crevaces with it's winch, this robotic research assistant can go just about anywhere on atmospheric and non-atmospheric terrestrial landscapes.

Prepare to give Space exploration a leg-up (or six!) and take your celestial crew to a whole new level of awesome adventure with a giant (robot) S.P.I.D.E.R. on board!

This MOC has been a journey, developing a seamless transition through System and CCBS/Bionicle elements. With adjustable Greebles to simulate actuators. Fully articulated through each leg, the model is stable, poseable, and quite dynamic.

The features include: adjustable solar arrays, whiskers, and rear hitches, poseable manipulator arms (3), legs with up to 12+ points of articulation each + working shock absorption, opening hatch to reveal central core, storage for a large assortment of space tools, and a working winch (which can support the full weight of the build).

Thanks for checking it out, I hope you enjoy it!

A build for my Iron Builder challenge against Kos.

Sorry for the numerous uploads ! But my CS crew was on the verge to make a revolution if they didn't obtain new vehicles to... well, roll along the carpet ^^

I didn't want them to get angry... ;-)

If it isn't our old pal Meep again! And it looks as though he has procured a fine rover this time. Even Karl appears to approve:

Karl: "See, Meep, I told you we should have gone to Honest John in the first place. Look at this nice shiny rover you managed to purchase. I'm surprised you had any galactic buckazoids left after being swindled by that crook and his brother! Honest John gave you such a great deal (and a very manageable low interest rate loan). Sure wish it had room for me, though..."

Meep: "Meep!"

Febrovery 2025 - 20

The LL-924 was a trustworthy and longstanding workhorse of the Federation's fleet, but this didn't stop engineers from attempting various modifications. The LL-926 was one such modification to bring the LL-924 more in line with the aerodynamic shaping of the LL-928, while maintaining the essential functionalities and compact size of its parent model.

Now with upgrades! A model I made a while back, but it needed a little extra detail for the 40th anniversary of Classic Space!

This is the most standard Neo-Classic Space design I have attempted. The idea was to do a small craft very much in line with the original 1979 models, recreating the aesthetic of design from that era (not just Lego) by avoiding any of the modern curved pieces (excepting the engines of course). The landing gear retracts.

The Classic black Lego spaceman.

I took a more dramatic approach to the black classic space Lego minifigure. It seems like one that's not to be taken lightly, a heavy character, serious badass who goes to places the others won't like to go.

The Platinum Asteroid Collector - Manned Auxiliary Node, was deployed alongside the massive mining ships of Classic Space. It was used to collect small, high value chunks of rock, typically containing platinum and other precious metals. These would normally have been too small for the base ship to bother with.

Known to its crews as the PAC-MAN, the ship was painted bright yellow in order for it to be easily visible to the operators of the high-powered mining lasers on the base ship. The PAC-MAN, had a crew of two. A green-suited pilot/driver on the righthand/starboard side (naturally) and a red-suited systems operator on the lefthand/port side. The ship could blast asteroids apart with its retractable mining laser and then scoop the fragments into its "mouth". The systems operator also had a small drone at his disposal, for inspecting potential space rocks.

The PAC-MAN ships proved to be reliable and popular with their crews. The became a common sight asteroid belts across the galaxy. This popularity was further cemented by the creation of a computer game, featuring a stylised version of the spaceship.

Thank you to Magma, for the inspiration to build the white asteroid. It's made only using 1x1 2-stud SNOT bricks, 1x1, 1x3 and jumper plates.

Buyrilia III is a planet wherein the surface is fully covered by a gigantic mall, the biggest in the whole southern quadrant. And it's only 45 light years from Outpost Alpha.

"I'm going out for awhile" Kelly said. "I'm bringing Robbie with me". Big mistake! Only few hours later, when Kelly came back, Benny realized that it was Black Friday!!

Poor Mr. Robot! It wasn't built for such heavy lifting...

An experimental craft that can harness the power of neutrinos to pass through solid matter. Now Benny can travel across the universe in a straight line. No need to circumnavigate around any pesky planets, just go right through them!

For FebRovery 2014.

Building these SPACE rovers is truly a delight. They are simple, quick, pressure-free, often ridiculous self-contained little exercises in creativity with added humour and nostalgia.

PS: I will get over the globe eventually.

James

1. Some form of a drone/mech, in a classic space or dark-red color scheme.

Oh little mechs, I can't do big ones, but little ones sure are fun, especially in classic space vibe :D

And yes, there's a full fig warmly protected in there.

Enjoy James!

When the Neo Classic Space Federation puts out a galaxy-wide call to take part in a pod-race on the Moon, the call is answered by the Blacktron Future Generation.

Although Benny's racer, 'LL-UC45' uses cutting edge tech, the Future Generation's 'WhiteGilled BlackFish' has never lost a race.

The stage is set for a white-knuckle showdown as these old foes race each other across the dusty plains of the Lunar surface.

Had to do a 12x12 for Space Jam. Also a little double-dipping with the lever which is being used as a seedpart for the Iron forge ;)

An integral part of life on Epsilon IV is maintaining the livestock which reside on the space-station. The goats have been genetically modified to survive on the station.

Sven has moved up in the world and is currently second in command (assistant to be completely correct...) on the task force responsible for goat-transport-assimilation, or GTA. He is pleased to have left the broom and bucket behind him and is looking forward to new opportunities to show off his knowledge.

So this is another addition to Epsilon IV, as well as an opportunity to finally show off some goats in space! Thanks for watching :)

Full scene coming in a little while.

for me the Cixpack's Cruzader is beautiful and I tried to make a version with classic space colors

Last year I really fell in love with the aesthetic of the old Lego Neo Classic Space line. It led to the creation of a fleet of Classic Space attack craft. I’ve decided to return to this awesome theme with the first of my animal themed NCS ships. This time we have The Manta Ray. Part submarine, part deep space explorer. I think it’s about time Benny explored a new frontier!

Early tests of the Expand-o-Ray were rather hap-hazard. The first human subject wasn't a willing participant to the test. Indeed, his friend sneaked up to his space-base and zapped him with it as a practical joke.

There then followed the problem of what to do to restore the victim to his normal size. The first thing the spacemen did was to get their computer to put the kettle on and make a nice cup of tea. Sadly it took quite a long time to do this. Fortunately this did give the spacemen enough time to find a giant mug for the tea to go in.

Once they'd had a nice brew, the answer became obvious. The Shrink-o-Ray was quickly invented and normality was restored.

As to why the spacemen enjoyed the taste of boiled leaves: that remained an enigma...

Alright, yesterday I posted a brick-built Blacktron signa too early. I thought that version was good enough, but no. This is it.

A small preview of my part for the group collab for LEGOWorld 2018.

Who thought a 90's kid would bring classic space back?

Mayday, Spyrius forces are attacking the monorail! We already lost a railcar and need immediate assistance!

We can't help you right now, our surveillance fighters are under heavy fire. They're everywhere!

This is one of my contributions to the Mini-Moonbase contest at Berlin SteineWAHN! 2021, a collaborative micro Classic Space project based on a 10x10 grid.

This one pays homage to one of my favourite space series as a child, specifically two amazing sets therefrom. I never owned the robot myself, but I had the big saucer as well as the smaller one and I loved both of them. And a moonbase needs a monorail anyway, so what better target for the Spyrius, since attacking a monorail (specifically the Unitron one from the same period) was a common story setting in the catalogues of the time.

The early days of Blacktron were all about Freedom and Independence but those ideals fell during wars for fuel cells.
