Revamp of set 6887 Allied Avenger

I'm a big fan of vertically-oriented ships, and this one I'm particularly pleased with how it turned out, especially with the semi-retractable landing gear.

Somehow the shape puts me in mind of a fish of some kind, and being a fan also of prehistoric life (even if I don't build it all that much) I'm calling this the LL313 Coelacanth

Exclusive pink bee head available in Lego store in exclusive pack.

Who wants just an ordinary rover, I want a classy rover, well I can only rove where it is smooth, sigh!

Mr. Chapman was very proud of his brand new rover.

"Light is right" he repeated to all the astronauts around.

He presented his work to the committee in charge of the homologation of the prototypes. He felt confident and optimistic.

Unfortunately, no one ever heard from him again after the crash test... which had pitted his rover against the Mega Core Magnetizer ^^

My 10th and final entry for the Chibi contest.

Sometimes, you're gonna need a rover for your ship.

Classic Space works leading antigravity technology is out on display, sleek angled lines, Dual multidirectional thrusters for a great power to weight ratio, purpose built for speed. Jenny is hoping for some clean and classic racing.

I was pondering for a long time on which space theme to build for this. SHIPtember consumed all of my remaining black parts that would have been useful for this. I've had the cockpit idea on my table scraps shelf for a while, waiting to be used. Since I've been trying to work through my WIPs/Table scraps from years past, currently completed at least 2 so far. However i think 7 WIPs have been added on-top of my existing pile... woops. There is just too much fun to be had. Happy building!

This rover I wanted to build for a long time, now I am glad that is finally completed.

It's about 57 cm long.

Thanks to Fausto De Martini for inspiration.

A custom blacktron build which I worked a lot on, and one of my most complex spaceship designs

It features a modern cockpit, a cargo bay which can be opened and contains 2 small containers. It’s got a bomb bay too and you can reload the bombs and even release them with a push of a button. Also there is a secret compartment in the ship with a data recorder, and for landings there are landing legs too!😎

features and details

I tried to include the design cues and play features of the original while adding my own flavor to the design.

Check out the play features video, and wheel assembly breakdown.

As I promised, some more detailed photos from Space-toberfest...

I’ve ben thinking of this space version of “American gothic” for months… no kidding! Hope you’ll like it. Unfortunately the pitchfork is so damn big…

Futuron* was a peaceful and friendly population.

Indeed their ground vehicles and spacecrafts were designed to explore new planets and new worlds.

But something is changing: a black menace is coming from the deep space, its name is Blacktron.

The black men want to attack the Futuron people probably to steal the sought after and valued Monorail.

To prevent the Blacktron attack a new armored vehicle is ready to fire: the "White Tiger".

This medium-class tank features 2 middle-range surface-to-air guns, a rotating turret and a crew of three (the commander, the driver and the gunner).

The nick name is a tribute to the invincible german White Tiger tank from WWII.

Will the "Tiger" be able to destroy the black menace?

*Futuron was a subtheme of LEGO Space released between 1987 and 1990 to replace Classic Space series.

Double whammy for my little Manta Ray moc as it has been chosen as todays (Fri 27th May 2022) model of the day by Beyond The Brick TV. I’m really proud of this moc so it’s fantastic that it seems to have gone down well in the community.

Another one for my media scrapbook album.

The dual windscreens in 10497 gave me the idea to try to create a classic space version of my favorite Star Wars ship, the U-wing. Overall I am pretty happy with this one. I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep the functions of the U-wing but managed to get the sweeping s-foils and opening troop compartment doors (this with the addition of 2 1L axle/pins and 4 2L axle pins). All other parts come from the set. The part count comes in a little over 900. Instructions are available at rebrickablw if you'd like to build one of your own! rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-136023/Themiddlebrick/ut-928d-ga...

Trouble is brewing in the infamous space saloon, "Thirsty Tanks" known locally as "TT" located at the remote space base LL201, sector 33. Happy hour is getting heated.

The science division is arguing with security division officers. We are not clear what the argument is about but it won't end nicely.

Couldn't work out what to put in the cargo bay!

I am happy to announce that this 18"x24" poster of the first 30 alphabet starfighters is available to purchase on Etsy www.etsy.com/listing/835306424/lego-alphabet-spaceship-po...

$2 from each sale will go to Chicago Freedom School an organization in my city that is helping to empower and educate both young people and adults. This is the first edition of the poster and each copy will be hand signed and numbered of 100. The poster is printed on 100 lb gloss paper in full color.

This poster shows a collection of alphabet shaped starfighters made of LEGO® building bricks. These 30 spaceships were hand built and designed by me and my 5 year old son. Each shape is an original design based on a letter of the alphabet or special character.

My son and I designed and built these ships as a collaborative project over the last 2 years and have collected the images for display. We started the project as a way to spend time together doing something we both love. First we built the letters of his first and middle names and then we built the entire alphabet. Many of the color schemes are based on historic LEGO® space themes. We had so much fun building these that we wanted to share them with others. As a parent and kindergarten teacher I would be thrilled to have this kind of image to inspire original LEGO® building and alphabet awareness.

In the course of the Federation's ever expanding exploratory activities, many extraordinary phenomena were observed. Particularly perishable specimens had to be analysed on the ground and so roving laboratories were employed to allow speedy analysis of the exotic minerals, flora, and fauna found on newly discovered worlds.

Solar panels allowed for much longer journeys into these boundless vistas.

The 40th anniversary of Classic Space keeps on roving! I actually finished this build well before Febrovery, but didn't manage to photograph properly until recently. The lab is detachable. It has an interior with two scientists, but I found it impossible to capture! (It also has a windscreen below the steering, though it's hard to see here.) All old grey of course.

Stormtroopers from 501st relentlessly carry out Order 51. Drafted by Vader, Order 51 authorizes the complete genocidal elimination of all Classic Space Federation personnel.

New Space Hangar - Area 78

Finally ready. Spaceship based on Nick Trotta's Elfire. "Handplants" seen by Marcel V.

Built for the Eurobricks Classic Space Era Spaceship Contest.

Had to be a ship containing a smaller vehicle in the colour scheme of one out of a list of classic themes. I already had an idea for another wedge craft built around the new trans-yellow canopy, so thought I'd give it a whirl.

Stats -

- 40 studs long (pretty much exactly!)

- Colours used:

-- Black

-- Blue

-- Light grey/light bluish grey

-- Trans-red

-- Trans-yellow

-- White

-- Yellow

My 928. There's life in the old girl yet

The Chomper was a fun, if at times uncomfortable, mode of transport. Its sharp teeth could be used for cutting through jungles or grinding moon rocks.

Sadly there was a mis-communication when the scale drawings of the Chomper's arms were passed from the design bureau to the sub-contractor. This resulted in the Chomper having T-rex style arms.

I built this because it made me smile :D

You can watch the Chomper in action on Flickr.

This is part of my entry, "Onset of the Blacktron" for the Lego Ideas minifigure battle contest.

2020 saw a lot of life and not as much finished LEGO. I started a ton of projects and didn't finish many. So here is to a full 2021...

You had better pray that the calibration of the frontal stabilizer jet doesn't pack up...
