First published in 1859, Oblomov is an indisputable classic of Russian literature, comparable in its stature to such masterpieces as Gogol's Dead Souls, Tolstoy's Anna Karenina and Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov. The book centres on the figure of Ilya Ilyich Oblomov, a member of the dying class of the landed gentry, who spends most of his time lying in bed gazing at life in an apathetic daze, encouraged by his equally lazy servant Zakhar and routinely swindled by his acquaintances. But this torpid existence comes to an end when, spurred on by his crumbling finances, the love of a woman and the reproaches of his friend, the hard-working Stoltz, Oblomov finds that he must engage with the real world and face up to his commitments.
Rich in situational comedy, psychological complexity and social satire, Oblomov is a timeless novel and a monument to human idleness.

One of the ultimate cafe racers of their day. The BSA Gold Star 500 cc single.
The BSA Gold Star, (1938–1963), is a 350 cc and 500 cc 4-stroke production motorcycle that gained its reputation for being one of the fastest machines of the 1950s. These motorcycles were popular for their high performance. Besides being hand built, with many optional performance modifications available, they came from the factory with documented dynamometer test results, allowing the new owner to see the horsepower produced.
1956 DBD34
The most prized model was the 500 cc DBD34 introduced in 1956, with clip-on handlebars, finned alloy engine, polished tank, 36 mm bell-mouth Amal carburettor and swept-back exhaust. The DBD34 had a 110 mph (177 km/h) top speed. The Gold Star dominated the Isle of Man Clubmans TT that year. Later models had a very high first Gear, enabling 60 mph (97 km/h) plus before changing up to second. Production ended in 1963.[5]
Rehearsals for the Ann Arbor Dance Classics 2022 Recital on Wednesday June 15th, 2022. Performances were held on Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th at Saline High School (Saline, Michigan). There were two performances on each day. The students and teachers all wore face masks during rehearsals as a precaution against COVID-19, but were not wearing them for the performance.

The eighth seeker. A very good color scheme for one of my favorite Classics mold.
My MB-3 and CB-1 Bridgestone bicycles getting some good use. No longer made, they are wonderfully vintage now but classic.
After far too many days of rain and overcast weather, Sport & Shave Ken #1294 from 1979 has put on Fashion Classics "Date With Barbie" #5824 from 1982 / 1983 and gone for a relaxing stroll in the hay field.
This outfit also had a K-Mart exclusive variation in which the dots on the shirt were wider apart and the jeans were a darker colour, and sometimes had runners instead of loafers.
Included with this outfit is a burgundy western style polka dot shirt, blue jeans, belt with large "Ken" buckle, and a pair of blue loafers. The black socks are from Wedding Day Ken #9609 (also included in #9852 Wedding Day Midge Gift Set #9852) from 1990.
