New England Central train 608 runs south on the Palmer Subdivision passing through Stafford Springs, CT heading for Willimantic. The matching pair of geeps in the original NECR scheme has been something worth shooting in New England.
On the north side of Toledo the CSX and Ann Arbor crossing of NS at Alexis is still protected by these classic signals. CSX I151-16 is on the move southbound on a brisk January day. Toledo, OH 1/16/2022

I never thought I'd call second generation EMDs classic, but in 2020 they do start to fit that descriptor. Now for a real classic, we have the 1952-built Great Lakes ore boat (laker) Arthur M. Anderson, unloading limestone at CN-Hallett Dock 5. The train, laker and dock are all property of CN. The Anderson is best known for being the boat following the ill-fated Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975.
Black River GP-9 752 throttles up to pull a large cut of cars at Mid-State Packaging in Hillsborough, NJ while a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado sits at the crossing. The 752 was built for the Northern Pacific in 1956, but still earns its keep in 2020 on lease to Strategic Rail Solutions by drilling out the large industrial park.
On a golden evening, NS 309 blasts under the CD-253 NYC signal with NS C40-9 8826 leading. This train sat in Rockport Yard for approximently four hours which is rediculous. It took the train two hours to get from CD-195-253. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
50049 and 50007 approach Pontrilas with 1Z50, a circular tour from Birmingham International in glorious conditions.
Classic infrastructure and design on offer at Appleby on a grey Sunday afternoon as 43357 brings up the rear of 1Q17 10:22 Derby R.T.C. to York Holgate Siding with 43272 up front.
Built for the PRR in 1956 this GP9 in the service of the Adrian & Blissfield is passing by the classic mid-street grade crossing protection installation in downtown Blissfield. A former depot is half hidden behind the front of the Geep. Blissfield, MI 11/25/2022

UP Big Boy 4014 rolls under the old CNW signals near Kenosha, WI, on a pleasant July morning. There were PLENTY of people here upon our arrival, and I was somehow lucky enough to have a small spot to myself to shoot video and pics.
One of the most photographed sites in Iceland. Not really original but a location you don't want to miss when visiting Iceland...:)
CN 583 hits the throttle as they climb uphill out of Paris West with 3 GP9RMs (4131, 7025, 4136) pulling approximately 30 cars towards London. When these GP9RMs were rebuilt in the 1980s, CN expected them to last 20 years. With them coming up on 40 since those rebuilds, it's rather impressive to watch a trio handle a good sized train at speed.

Upbound on the left the Alpena heading for her namesake city for another load of cement and the downbound Algoma Montrealais nearing the end of her career on the lakes - November 2, 2014.
A pair of classic machines from a bygone era meet at the Rox Road grade crossing in rural Three Churches West Virginia, as a motorist pauses for the passage of a southbound B&O passenger train. Fortunately, the manufacturers of both this Buick Electra and the EMD F7A Locomotive are still in business today, but sadly, the iconic styling of these fine machines is definitely a thing of the past.
