One day my darling friends I shall be fully on show...I promise. 💋♀️
... to me this image looks like fine oil painted over a quality canvas. I've never seen any other artware that could produce this finish and Gimp, the program that makes it possible in four clicks is the only artware I have that is absolutlely free. So now you know.

Ralph Waldo Emerson. The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca: On entering a temple we assume all signs of reverence. How much more reverent then should we be before the heavenly bodies, the stars, the very nature of God!
John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

This design vocabulary had a long, long run. But I think we've run out of the resources, principally architects willing to use it, trained craftsmen able to execute architects' drawings in metal, wood and marble, and the money to pull it off.

Built 1816; Engine House 1881. 3-storey (4 to rear), 10-bay, piend-roofed, classical former Institution for the Formation of Character with advanced, pediment-gabled 3-bay central section and advanced 2-bay former engine house with arched windows adjoining to N. Squared rubble with droved and stugged ashlar dressings. Tabbed quoin strips. Central Doric portico at ground floor of Institution with coupled columns. Star shaped tie plates. Oculus to apex of pediment. Round-arched windows to front and side (N) of former engine house.
Along with the School, the Institute is important historically as one component of the industrial community begun by David Dale and developed by Robert Owen. It is also an important element in the townscape because of its prominent position.
Along with the School, the Institution served as part of Owen's complex system of education that provided facilities for all ages. More than any other building this was the platform on which he built his reputation and subsequent influence. It is built on the lines that Owen set out in the new 'Articles of Partnership' for a school based on the ideas of the educational innovator, Joseph Lancaster. It originally had rooms for both educational and recreational purposes, including a library and a reading room and was the social centre of the village, having been used as a school, dance and concert hall, religious meeting place as well as, subsequently, the workers' canteen.
Originally the Institution had 11 bays, but one was lost when the Engine House was built in 1881, breaking the symmetry of the building. This was to enable the rope drives to meet the existing power system at the junctions of Mills 3 and 4.
Vc me perdoaria?
