For Simavi (www.simavi.nl), we visited Kenya. On location, we produced video and photography around their WASH program, which includes raising awareness in the classroom around sanitation & hygiene and on the football pitch, where local coaches teach more through football.
homework, stamping with distress inks and using water to make it appear watercolor. these were done on distress wc paper and used art impressions wc stamps. I started with the pot, then some foliage, then flowers and more foliage, then went back and filled in more flowers. this was so much fun. I have always wanted to be able to do cards like this

The Halcyon class frigate was designed to counter the increasingly fast warships of Humanity's enemies. A significant portion of the ship was used for the reactor and engines, capable of pushing the Halcyon-class to almost unprecedented speeds, both at sublight and FTL.Additionally, it featured 2 massive coilguns at the front, and a number of smaller cannons.

hi Watercolorists,
A glorious night like tonight reminds me that each of you see your surroundings as paintings. You see as artists. This thrills me. All the hard work you do to master watercolor is terrific. But seeing as artists- that is the portable and intimately individual gift. I know you have always done so in various disciplines- but I am just talking about painting for now. To paint your view of the world makes it all the more keenly felt. It doesn't mean much if we see but never try to express how we feel about it. Which becomes evident in the process of doing. Those of us who try to paint what we see with as much attention as we can muster tap the creative force- and what better place is there to be?
Our Wednesday class moved from a loud intersection (hello, summer!) into Madison Square Park where the light danced on the flags of Shake Shake, buildings, Tai Chi class, strollers, sitters and dogs. Centered in a kaleidoscopic spiral of shifting sunlit surfaces, we struggled with way too much information. Even in a busy environment,to focus on simple forms and compositions strengthens our pieces. Painting outdoors is a powerful exercise. It takes practice to select a portion of the information that is seen to present something that fits comfortably on the page. It requires a series of decisions. What to pay attention to and paint- and what to let go of. Editing- the real rigor of making art. Better a series of simple studies than a cluttered tumble on the sheet, which is what I did that night - tumble! Oh, well!
Saturday's class worked with arrangements of peonies, small roses and a little fern-filled pot that presented the challenge of angled planes. It was a good class, with important strides made. Each of you did beautiful work, and pushed through challenging passages to more sophisticated levels. I wish I had a photo record of your progress from the beginning of our work together. I have to mention Janet's big step. Janet, who after weeks of quick strokes and assessments which made nice freshly graphic pieces, sunk into her subjects with a kind of tender regard, and did some marvelously deep work. Beautiful to see.
Some days are easier than others, right? You gotta be in it to win it!

Another of my favorite spots along the River Teign is Longford Steps, this is looking towards Newto Abbot, again the service is the 1247 Paignton to Cardiff and sees the leading loco of 67022.
Class reunions are the perfect excuse to plan a trip to Madrid to catch up with your classmates, visit IE, and enjoy the city. This year, class reunions were celebrated around the Alumni Forum in May so that attendees have the opportunity to participate in both and enjoy Madrid´s wonderful spring weather.
