Preserved class 11 diesel shunter , 12139 , built in 1949 at Newton-Le-Willows , at work at Grosmont station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway .

Sunday 10th June 2012 at the Epping & Ongar Railway. 31438 arrives at North Weald with its train from Ongar. She seemed in good form mechanically but needed some TLC on her bodywork. Just look at that rust. I had photographed this locomotive on the Mid Norfolk Railway 3 years earlier when her bodywork was in a similar condition. See:-

HSB (Harzer Schmalspur Bahnen) metre-gauge Class 99.600 2-6-2T No.99 6001 ex-works at Wernigerode shed, 26 July 2019. This loco was built for the NWE (Nordhausen-Wernigerode Eisenbahn - later part of the HSE) as their No.21 in 1939 as a prototype for a series of standard 2-6-2T. 2-8-2T and 2-10-0T designs for the NWE, GWE (Gernrode-Harzgerode Eisenbahn - later part of the HSE) and SHE (Sud Harz Eisenbahn, closed 1963) metre gauge systems but WWII led to the abandonment of the scheme.
Weekend rail closures are nothing new. I wish I'd popped down to the station to see what was on the replacement service.
21st November 2018. On a TimeLine Photo Charter on the North Norfolk Railway. This was my first ever visit to the Poppy Line and it took like forever to get there. I remember arriving at Sherringham on the train at 10.00pm and everyone had gone home as all the lights were turned off. Luckily my accommadation was not too far from the station.
The next day, I met up with all the other photographers for our day out on the NNR. We where not too far out from Sherringham [near the Golf Club I believe]. As GNR N2 0-6-2T No.1744 does a run past with the Quad Art Set of coaches.

Class 47 1648 at Earlestown on a parcels service on 28/07/1971. The loco was allocated to Old Oak Common (81A) at the time. I t was released new to traffic on 22/01/1965. This loco became 47064 and the 47639 in Feb 1986 and then 47851 in Feb 1990. It is still working today for West Coast Railway in their maroon livery.
