The faint lettering of the Southern Railway can be made out with a keen eye, very faded along the body of the former SR unit as it rusts away in the SARM deadlines.

Preserved former British Railways Class 2 2-6-2T steam locomotive 41298 was photographed at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s Wootton station on 30 June 2022. The locomotive was built at British Railways’ Crewe Works in 1951 to a design by George Ivatt for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS). It was withdrawn from service in 1967 at the end of steam working on the Southern Region and was sold to the Ivatt Locomotive Trust for preservation.

Welcome to my first foray into studio shooting. Can't say it went entirely well - I literally had no idea what to do with the model in 4 minutes so... hair flips; a whacky comfort zone if you will. They usually turn out something neat looking.

I liked the shadow at the time, but I guess it's kinda lame now. I could darken it and see what happens then. Or when I'm feeling more tedious, remove it all together.

Standard Class 2 2-6-0 no 78018 approaches Quorn and Woodhouse with a freight from Loughborough to Rothley Brook and passes GWR 2-8-0 no 3850 working a freight in the opposite direction from Rothley Brook to Loughborough. My photo was taken on Sunday 26 January 2025 during the GCR Winter Steam Gala.

Seaboard Coastline #2024, now disguised as Clinchfield Railroad #3632, is seen in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, several years after its new paint job for the 75th Santa Train in 2017. Though the CRR scheme is slick, I prefer this one in the classic SCL colors.
