A class 118 DMU stands at Exeter St. Davids on a working to Barnstaple. The all yellow livery is an advertisement for British Telecom, and I believe that this was the first time in the UK that an "all-over" advertising livery was used on the railway.
A snatched view of Class 313 063 departing from Hertford North on a service to Moorgate. This was probably my last chance to phot these long-serving units as they are due for imminent replacement. The Class 313s entered service at the same time as the much-lauded HSTs, and while operating less glamorous commuter services, probably have been every bit as successful in their +42-year career. The design still looks fresh too. My only personal complaint was the design of hopper windows, which could make for a very draughty travelling environment in the cooler months.
