Trainspennine Express Class 397 EMU 397001 approaching a dull Lancaster on 3q52 1106 Carlisle - Manchester Longsight Depot on 04/03/2019
I left this 377 at Ashford on Tuesday evening , I know the FCC livery is nothing to be desired, so some kind soul has tried to improve it.

The Ghost has it in every single way. Just like the Beverly Wilshire.

In the late 1980s many British Rail DMUs were replaced by the Class 150 which was produced by BREL, its own trainmaking company.
Competition for this contract was provided by Metro-Cammell of Washwood Heath, Birmingham, who made a pair of Class 151s for evaluation. These were unsuccessful, but continued in BR service for a while before being withdrawn in 1989.

The last train I photographed on what I can only describe as an eventful return to my favourite spot on the Ely to Peterborough line!

While waiting for the monthly test train to pass, this preceding passenger train hit an incredibly lucky patch of sunlight.
158790 cruises over Ribblehead Viaduct, with the 2H12 0748 Leeds to Carlisle service - 18/06/2021.
The last shot I took on our holiday in Ribblehead, before the long journey home. It was nice to grab the last train in sunshine. I remember we arrived at Ribblehead in thick fog & you couldn't see either the viaduct or the pub! This was probably the best holiday we have ever had there. We definitely went at the right time of year. The weather was a lot better this time & I certainly didn't regret missing the 'Staycation Express' in 2021!
On a rare outing, privately-owned Class 73 No. E6036 approaches Dixton Bridge during Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Steam Railway's Heritage Diesel Gala on 26th July 2019.

Following attention to one of the wheelsets at Carlisle Kingmoor alongside various other mods, the loco was sent to Crewe for exam before test run on the Crewe-Bescot/Toton on Tues 4th October, and eventual return to Chiltern Railways.
Resident Class 31 D5631 approaches Dead Man's Hill on the North Norfolk Railway, with the 1400 Sheringham to Holt demonstration goods train - 06/04/2024.
Another enjoyable day spent back up at the North Norfolk Railway, this time for the 60th Anniversary of Closure event.
This train was my number one photographic target of the day, as I had never seen the demonstration goods train in action before.
I didn't think I had much chance of a sunny shot to be honest, as the cloud cover proved to be very stubborn to clear on this visit to the North Norfolk coast. However, I did get a bit of weak sun at this spot, just as the train passed by.
