158790 cruises over Ribblehead Viaduct, with the 2H12 0748 Leeds to Carlisle service - 18/06/2021.
The last shot I took on our holiday in Ribblehead, before the long journey home. It was nice to grab the last train in sunshine. I remember we arrived at Ribblehead in thick fog & you couldn't see either the viaduct or the pub! This was probably the best holiday we have ever had there. We definitely went at the right time of year. The weather was a lot better this time & I certainly didn't regret missing the 'Staycation Express' in 2021!
Building instructions available freely here. I strongly advise to have a look at it before doing anything.

After a shopping trip to nearby Stratford-upon-Avon an elderly couple leave their re-liveried class 116 for the frosty air of Wilmcote. They had been passengers on the 11.19 Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham Moor Street train.
This was the second station at Wilmcote, the first was on the other side of Featherbed Lane road bridge, it opened 10/10/1860 and closed 08/12/1907, could it be that this was where the 1883 dated footbridge came from? Probably unlikely as the railway was not double tracked until 1907, it was more likely to have been a kit of parts lying around at Swindon.

I find it quite funny that I could never grab a decent shot of this EMU while it carried the Gatwick Express branding. As soon as the branding was removed, I took a shot in fantastic light like this!

Resident Class 31 D5631 approaches Dead Man's Hill on the North Norfolk Railway, with the 1400 Sheringham to Holt demonstration goods train - 06/04/2024.
Another enjoyable day spent back up at the North Norfolk Railway, this time for the 60th Anniversary of Closure event.
This train was my number one photographic target of the day, as I had never seen the demonstration goods train in action before.
I didn't think I had much chance of a sunny shot to be honest, as the cloud cover proved to be very stubborn to clear on this visit to the North Norfolk coast. However, I did get a bit of weak sun at this spot, just as the train passed by.

~Little Bogie Kenner Blythe only appeared nervous, as she took her place in line at the assembly ... knowing she would not be chosen for the Homecoming Queen, or even the Court that year.
She knew she stood out from the cookie-cutter-cut-out crowd, and in fact, she had even heard grapevine rumblings that some considered her ... well ... a bit
"unusual" ...
But she also knew, as sure as a girl with a large head, four sets of eyes, and a pull-ring adorning the back of her head ... that deep down she was way before her time.
All she had to do was keep being herself, resist all temptation to become a "Barbie" ... and that no matter how many years may transpire ...
she really needed to WAIT ... to TRUST in the ultimate wisdom and timing of the Universe to be JUST RIGHT ... and it would be her turn to SHINE !!

Class 31 D5631 stands at Sheringham on the North Norfolk Railway, prior to departure with the 1500 Sheringham to Holt - 21/07/2022.
We had a rather eventful, but nevertheless enjoyable day on the North Norfolk Railway.
Originally, I didn't think we would be able to come here as Lorraine had planned to meet friends near Ely. However, they jumped at the chance to visit the North Norfolk Railway when we suggested we meet here instead.
Therefore, I was really looking forward to a day travelling behind this lovely locomotive & the visiting Class 25 D7659. We parked at Holt & decided to change trains at Weybourne to catch the Class 25 back to Holt. However, when we alighted to change trains at Weybourne, we were told the 'Rat' had a problem & would not be running today. Therefore, we decided to jump back on & continue through to Sheringham.
We then had a run to Weybourne & back on this loco hauled train & the replacement Class 101 DMU, before stopping at Sheringham for lunch.
We caught the DMU to Weybourne, before we returned to Sheringham behind the Class 31. We decided to take this train back to Holt & call it a day. However, there was one final catch. On arrival at Weybourne, we were told the Class 101 DMU had failed at Holt & the crew were trying to get it running again & then limp the stricken train back to Weybourne. The crew did indeed eventually get the DMU going again & it made it back to Weybourne, so we could finally get back to Holt.
It was a shame about the 'Rat', as it was my last chance to see it in action before it returned to Derbyshire, but these things happen with heritage traction & despite the fun & games, we all really enjoyed the day.
Model is my amazing friend Rob Woodcox.
This was taken during my trip to Detroit in July, we spent the afternoon exploring St.Agnes school and when we came to this large room with the chair in the corner, I knew that Rob and his wonderful outfit would be the perfect match for my concept.
I wish I could have spent a whole week in Detroit exploring all the amazing locations that we saw while we drove around the city.
Next time!
