...is the best way to wire control assemblies.

I took a piece of balsa and clamped it to the front of the guitar. Then I ran the 3/8" bit through the control cavity holes to drill a pair of matching holes in the balsa. Then I flipped the guitar over and put the pot shafts through the balsa extending down into the back of the control cavity.

This is an easy way to, "cheat" when you wire up a harness for a guitar. The spacing is right, but you don't have to reach down into the cavity to do the work. As you can see, I've already run a steel Dremel brush over the backs of the pots to scuff them up nice so they'll take solder for the grounding points. When I'm done I can lift the harness up off this piece of balsa and drop it right into the control cavity.

So a bit of jiggery pokery a quick unfollow / follow and a prize to be one.
