Now we're all so proud of Grandpa,
He's been taking this so well.

It is very similar to the French card game Mille Bornes.

Sneak Peek on this months Challenge.
As you can see, I felt so inspired that I actually made three outfits instead of only one.
Now the hardest part begins..which one to choose for the challenge? Because I don't think we can enter more than one, right?

The MONTANE Spine Challenger is a non-stop, 108 mile race between Edale and Hawes with a time limit of 60hrs. This challenging and technical section of the Pennine Way is a physically and psychologically demanding route that demands concentration, good physical fitness, resolve and respect. The MONTANE Spine Challenger is a notoriously difficult event in its own right and should be considered as having a similar degree of difficulty as the longer MONTANE Spine Race.
From appearances alone, 60 hours looks like ample time to complete this course. However, appearances can be deceptive. The rugged and very technical nature of this race is mentally taxing, as you have to constantly be aware of foot placement in icy conditions, weather systems, navigation, available daylight and self-management.
Text is from the Montane website.
More than 500 students from around the world competed in NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22, at the Aviation Challenge camp of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, near NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
NASA hosted 48 teams from 16 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, as well as the countries of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, India, Mexico, Peru, and Singapore.
Throughout the nine-month challenge, each team will attempt to design, build, and test human-powered rovers capable of traversing a challenging half-mile obstacle course that simulates the terrain of the Moon, Mars, or other rocky bodies in our solar system. In addition, students must also design and demonstrate a unique tool capable of completing various mission tasks.
HERC is one of NASA's nine Artemis Student Challenges - a variety of activities providing students access to the knowledge and technology required to achieve the goals of the Artemis Program
Replays of the competition are available on NASA Marshall YouTube and NASA's HERC Facebook page.

"Death is on your heels, baby.
And sooner or later, it's gonna catch you...
And part of you wants it.
Not only to stop the fear and uncertainty,
but because you're just a little bit in love with it."

I throw out a challenge to you - shoot out of your comfort zone! If you don't take chances, how are you going to experience something new? I was stuck in a rut for a year shooting nothing but sunsets and lake shots with my Cokins ( www.flickr.com/photos/lenscrack/sets/72157617430731860/ ) . But taking a chance and venturing into something new, I am finding so many new and exciting things to try. Processing styles, DOF and other focus techniques. These are really opening up my eyes. So I ask, are you challenging yourself? Nikon D700 + Carl Zeiss 85mm Head over to my profile ( www.flickr.com/people/lenscrack/ ) for links and more information.
Needing both a challenge and a waterfall today, I decided to go over to much-photographed-by-me Corbett's Glen and shoot everything with my 50mm lens. I was able to get a decent .25-.5 shutter speed without using any filter, shooting at f32.
There were times I had to back up into a lot of brush, but I was very satisfied with the results.
