The Hofstra-Digital Remedy Venture Challenge is an annual entrepreneurship competition for Hofstra students administered by the Hofstra University Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship with total prizes valued at $$76,500, made possible through the donation of a Hofstra Board Trustee and CEO of Digital Remedy, Mike Seiman. The competition is in its eleventh year at Hofstra University.
We are looking for business ideas that demonstrate scalability, the identification of a unique problem, and has a qualified team in place to execute the idea. The Challenge offers a great experience and is a resume builder for any career path.

My photography challenge this month is to shoot my grandaughter in her dutch costume at least somewhere in the vicinity of some beautiful tulips. In this shot she had spotted a dog, (Puppy to her) and was off and running. Oh well, another day:)
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon visited the 1,000th recipient of the Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) as she announced the latest grants totalling £15.3 million. That means total CCF funding since its launch in 2008 has now reached £101 million, with 1,097 grants across Scotland.
The 1,000th grant of £290,392 was awarded to Glasgow-based Bike for Good for continuing their schools project – which works with young people, teachers and parents to encourage cycling and reduce car use.

I love hero arts and this color pallet is great. I used Jenni Bowlin paint to stamp the leaves and Copic's for the butterflys. The puruple mat is a hero arts envelope. I just didn't have the right shade :)

My Husband thought of another Challenge drawing your name by making the very last letters of your name really large and gradually shinking the letters as they begin with your name, plus divide your paper into the same number of segments as the letter in your name and use tangle patterns that starts with the letters in your name;

July 21, 2013-Indian Lake- Governor Andrew M. Cuomo hosts 1st Adirondack Challenge Festival in Indian Lake
I think I might paint this challenge from the Watercolorist - Painting with Light group. Lately, my habit has been to do a quick value sketch whether it's on-site or from a photo (as in this case). Then, I paint from the sketch, except for color notes, etc. where I might look at the photo. Since I've already simplified in the sketch, it's easier a) to do the watercolor's pencil sketch, b) to keep my painting simple, and c) to keep values in mind.
And, you know what? I really love doing these sketches themselves. They can have a charm that doesn't usually emerge from the finished painting.
