Deinopis sp. - Danum Valley, Borneo
This is a net-casting spider seen during a night hike in Danum Valley. This spider has an unusual hunting method it hangs with its net stretched between its front legs and when prey approaches it will launch itself forward while stretching its web out and entangle its prey, thus the name net-casting spider. Another common name for spiders of this genus is ogre faced spiders due to the odd facial features they have with 2 large prominent eyes. Spiders of this genus can be found in the tropics worldwide.

A Salmon (Chinook/Quinnat) fisherman casting into the mouth of the Rakaia River from the south point. The sea in the background is a bit discoloured but the river was fine, and salmon were still moving through from the sea.

One of my favourite subjects, this is a net casting spider, seen in the garden. It casts a net to catch its prey at night, but seems to spend its day sitting quietly with its net ready for deployment.
Sunday Fishing on JingJi Hu lake. I walked around the lake watching the Sunday fishermen casting away, they have this unique style, fishing with extra long rods, and casting with a big wide motion. I caught this "big one" just at the right moment. :-)

Pêche du dimanche sur le lac Jingji Hu. J'ai fait le tour du lac en regardant les pêcheurs du dimanche lancer leurs lignes, ils ont ce style unique, la pêche avec de longues cannes à pêche, et jeter la ligne avec un grand mouvement. J'ai attrapé ce «big one» juste au bon moment. :-)

A local fisherman casts a net fishing for banana prawns off Nudgee Beach. There were 3 shots taken one after the other to create this image. A long exposure for the water, a short exposure for the fisherman casting the net and the last one of the plane coming to land at Brisbane Airport.

Yes there is snow in California. Especially if you are 10,000 feet above the desert valley in Mount San Jacinto State Park. We took the Palm Spring Arial Tram way up the mountain to get a different perspective of the area and just to remind us of what winter was really like back home in Edmonton. Yes we even needed winter jackets and gloves.

Versus is the only Fashion publication in English and Spanish and since its first release, 2 years ago, its fabulous stylists recreate RL Fashion trends in every new issue.
This is the first casting we develop in Versus two years of life (and the only one we will have in a long time) since our current group of stylists/fphotographers was carefully selected because of the quality of their work, and they are the main reason behind Versus magazine success.
In this casting new stylists will be chosen to join our ranks and their pictures will be published in Versus Spring/Summer 2016.
For this reason we will pay tribute to one of the greatest spanish designers we are honored to have in this country: ESTHER NORIEGA.

Lately I have been trying to work with "nonmodels" so I have been putting out some casting calls on local groups on Facebook. Brooklyn answered my ad and came over last week for a boudoir shoot. Brooklyn, who is not only a mother but also in the Army completely rocked this shoot and will hopefully be standing in front of the camera for me again very soon.
