A snapshot of my two models playing in front of the house, he wearing her fairy hat, taking advantage of the fact that she is busy on the phone.... they looked a bit insane but I could only freeze the moment using the smartphone.
Played a lot with post production in Picmonkey tryimg to make the shot appealing.
When this male Greater Roadrunner's efforts to attract a phantom female on the ground failed, he flew up onto this dead branch to make himself more visible and continued his calling. A dirty rotten trick to play on a young bird in the springtime, but it made some for some good photos.

We've had a break in the storms-yesterday and today-calling for storms tonight

I liked the angle that the Black Grouse took up as he called out for a challanger to come forward. I went to the Lek with the intention of capturing action images but the clear skies that were forecast failed to materialise so more in situ images were the order of the day - there is always next year for the action shots as the leking season is near its end. I wanted to capture his stunning tail feathers as well as his beautiful colouring.

wasn't going to put up this shot of the fullmoon last night but seen flickr's funpics... photo which was grand.... for my mother's people this moon was often known as the calling moon because of the restlessness stirring in this time of year young were in the womb restless to be born... spirits in water and plants were restless to grow and begin again.... young men listened to the march wind for messages that brought new life...told of ways of life... and told of life passing.... this was the season of calling all beings to ready and prepare to begin again... just some thoughts...cbc
