I search for silence deep within,
to stop the voices that begin.
The whispers from the past, echoes in my soul,
never dies, never lies, and I cry.
We're standing in an empty room,
with broken dreams that I resume.
Where is strength to leave behind,
tell me where is peace of mind?
Cuz I'm calling, calling, calling to the core.
Help me, see me, find me.
Calling, calling, how do I adore?
Help me, show me, free me.
Lyrics from this beautiful song.

Somewhere in the sand dunes is a burrow and this Little Penguin's mate. They call to each other and somehow always end up in the right burrow. This litte bird is calling home.
Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus)
Trawling through the files today. Indifferent weather and lack of time has meant I haven't had much time to get out.

This male red winged blackbird was calling out to any female that might show interest. It's Spring, after all!
A Stonechat is so called due to its distinctive call which sounds like to small stones or pebbles being knocked together.

This is my old phone that I came across a couple of years ago. I love flea markets. This baby sure is a heavy piece of equipment.
That Grand kids find it interesting.

Happy New Year! The male Tufted Duck is generally silent except during courtship when it makes a low whistle. I was lucky to hear this one during September on one of the shallow lakes at Slimbridge.
This regular visitor was having a good shout last year at an interloper on his patch. Was interesting to see his nictitating membrane mid way over his eye in this shot.
