Calling Blanca
This bull was magnificent. He was calling to three nearby cows, who all stayed within a hundred feet of him. To watch, hear, and observe the behavior of this group was one of the highlights of my trip.

A couple Missabe Hostlers call it a day as they enjoy a couple Cigars, drink a couple brewski's and play a round of poker at the Proctors shops the things you can do on third trick. Okay we all know this isn't really in the Missabe days the CSX hat is a good give away but this was the end our night. Max and I sit inside the shops, thinking about the last few chilled hours outside in the Lake Superior air putting on our own mini DM&IR night shoot. Cigars were good the coke was decent and we walked away with some great images and even better memories from this night in Duluth.

Another energetic pose from this lovely little lady. Female Belted Kingfishers sport that rusty belt, one of the only birds named for how the female looks rather than the male.
Lighthouses... something about them draw me in. How they tower over the shoreline, their light calling sailors' home. Maybe it's cause I'm a Navy brat. :P Whatever it may be, I'll never get enough of them.
