I am a 'rock hound' and always check out the rocks wherever I am - but these La Jolla rocks were hard to decipher. I have put up these shots to try to show the context of the agate-like rock. Can anyone tell if these rocks are sedimentary or metamorphic - or metamorphic inclusions in a sedimentary matrix?
I suppose I could try looking up the geologic history of SoCal...
I went downtown today to see my painting at an art exhibition! It was pretty awesome...felt professional, even though it was only there because I was taking part in an art competition for young people... :P Anyway, after that I stopped at Tjörnin, the pond, for a moment to take some pictures of the birds flying around with the beautiful sunset behind them.
This guy seemed lonely.
I love these flowers, bees love them

One of the last images I captured of the Stilt babies, then they were gone. Thank for visiting and have a great day.
Southeastern 'Citybeam' 707 010 calls at St Johns Station with the new towers of Lewisham in the background. These 707s are ex Southwestern Railway cast offs, rewrapped for Southeastern and given a funky name like 'Citybeam'. The seats made headlines in the railway press for being little better than ironing boards and toilets are non existent. The trains they are replacing, now going to the breakers, had better seats and toilets...
St Johns is one of those stations that I've passed and travelled through thousands of times in my life but never used. Being an island platform it's accessed by a long footbridge from St Johns Vale and the near by St Johns Church. The bridge gives good views towards Lewisham but it's just a shame that unless your a unit fan, every train is the same. The towers in the background didn't exist a few years ago and below them is the once temporary, now permanent rail bridge, the site of one of the worst railway disasters in the UK in 1957.

Captured just before my thrifty nifty fifty lens took a knock by a passer-by in the city, it is no longer sharp focusing and has horrific chromatic aberration. Cheap plastic lenses, however good the optics may be, are not really suited to street shooting!
Some clumsy oaf bumped into my lens (with lens hood attached) and the autofocus jammed up, I freed it up by switching between MF and AF but it seems the bump had some internal effect - the lens is useless now, not sharp and not clear in the slightest. Sadly.
Please bring spring soon!! I want my beautiful hyacinth's to awaken and lift their beautiful heads from the earth!!

Old creepy photo from the pine barrens. Found that mask thing at a fabric store during the previous Halloween season. I think you're supposed to paint it or something, cause it's cardboard, but I think it looks creepy as is.
I really should of ironed my bed sheet before this little adventure, but oh well.
